With He Chun Hua, Lin Fan headed off to the center of the city.
He Chun Hua was confused on where Lin Fan was heading at first, but then she slowly realized where he was heading.
That was because there was only one place that he could be heading with the direction that he was walking in. It was a place that everyone in this city knew about since it was a place that was considered a very important place.
It was the city lord's manor.
For soone like her, He Chun Hua had never gone to the city lord manor. She had never gone to the area around the city lord manor since that was considered an important place with plenty of guards.
Soone like her wasn't allowed to go to a place like that.
So as she followed Lin Fan, there was a worried look that appeared on her face. It looked like she wanted to say sothing, but it also seed like she didn't know how to say the words that she wanted to get out of her mouth.
Only it wasn't as if the situation would be ignored just because she remained silent.
As He Chun Hua had worried, the mont that they ca to the area around the city lord manor, there were guards that suddenly ca forward to stop them.
The city lord manor was a place that only those with a reason to go to would be able to enter and it was clear to the guards that this wasn't the case with this group. Especially with the state that He Chun Hua was in.
She looked like sothing that was dragged off the street, definitely not soone that would have business here.
"Stop and turn back. This is not a place for people like you." The guards said while raising their weapons.
However, it seed like Lin Fan didn't hear them as he continued moving forward.
Seeing this, the guards stepped up so that they were in front of Lin Fan and went to block him from getting further in. But it didn't seem like Lin Fan seed to care about the way that they were trying to stop him.
It seed like Lin Fan was going to walk right past him.
The guards knew that for soone like this, words wouldn't work.
That was why they raised their weapons as if they were about to use them.
But the mont that they did, there was a chill that ran down their spines. There was a feeling that filled them that told them that this was the wrong thing to do, as if they would seriously regret taking action against Lin Fan.
The guards had an idea of why they felt this way, but that didn't an that they pulled back.
Rather, they just stood their ground even when facing Lin Fan's aura head on like this.
Even though they received a ton of pressure from facing Lin Fan's aura, they still stood there facing it without backing down. Even though their instincts were telling them that Lin Fan was not soone that they could beat, that he was soone that they should run away from.
They still seed like they were prepared to go all out to stop him.
That just went to show what kind of loyalty these guards had towards their superior, a kind of loyalty that couldn't be simply bought. This was the kind of loyalty that would only be given to soone that they considered worthy of their respect.
That was one point to the city lord.
Even though they looked like they wanted to fight back, there really wasn't anything that they could do in the face of this pressure. It even seed like they would fall over with just a single touch with the way that they were standing.
But at the very least, it seed like they were ready to die for this.
After a mont of silence, Lin Fan suddenly stopped releasing his aura which allowed the guards to catch their breath.
When they ca back to their senses, the leader of the guards stepped forward again as if he was about to stop Lin Fan. However, that step was the only one that he took before he froze with a shocked look on his face.
The other guards seed confused about what was happening at first until they also saw what was in Lin Fan's hand.
The mont that they saw this, they froze just like their leader did.
They just stared at the token that Lin Fan was holding in a daze, as if they didn't know how to react to it. But judging by the look on their faces, it was clear that they recognized what this token was.
Lin Fan didn't say anything at first, but then with a smile slowly appearing on his face, he said, "Can I go in now?"
The guards looked at each other in a daze before the leader gave a few orders.
Lin Fan just ignored those orders that he gave while waiting for the leader to show the way.
The leader of the guards bowed before saying, "Sir envoy, please follow ."
With a nod, Lin Fan followed behind the leader of the guards.
In this situation, all of them completely forgot about He Chun Hua who was still there. She had been standing there in a daze as if she couldn't understand what was happening, but this couldn't be blad on her.
The way that things had changed was just too fast that no one would have been able to keep up with them.
But once the leader of the guards ca back to his senses, he looked at He Chun Hua before looking at Lin Fan with a hesitant look.
"She's with ." Lin Fan said in a calm voice.
At that, the leader of the guards just completely ignored He Chun Hua as if he didn't see her. He just acted like she was a part of Lin Fan's group and only focused on Lin Fan.
He Chun Hua couldn't help feeling shocked at this.
Just what was this person's status that he was able to make the guards of the city lord manor act this way?
There were people that stared at He Chun Hua as she entered the city lord manor, but they didn't do anything to her since they saw that she was with the leader of the guards.
If even he wasn't doing anything to her, then there was nothing that they could do to her.
But being the center of attention like this was hard for He Chun Hua, so she couldn't help lowering her head in a shy manner. She was keeping her head down and trying to make it seem like she didn't exist at all.
Lin Fan ignored all of that as he calmly walked forward.
That didn't an that he wasn't doing sothing.

As he watched them and listened in on their conversations, there was a feeling of approval that filled him.

"We should do sothing about the slums in the north. The gangs are acting up too much, we need to stop them before they do sothing harmful."
"The harvest project is going well. Make sure that all of the households receive what they should get and if there's extra, give them a bit of a bonus."
"The most important thing in our city is the people, so we have to do what we can for them."
It seed that the people of this city lord manor cared quite a bit about their city and proactively did their jobs. It seed like they wanted to do all that they could for this city, to make it a better place.
There were many cases where people in positions of power would use it for their own gains, but it seed like all of the people in the city lord manor were doing all that they could for the people of this city.
That was just how much they cared about this city.
No, it wasn't just how much they cared about this city, it was also because of their loyalty to the city lord.
Only if soone was worthy of them doing this would they do it. If he wasn't a qualified person, then they wouldn't go out of their way to do all of this.
This was another point to the city lord.
The leader of the guards led them to a room at the top of the city lord manor.
This was a luxurious looking place that was looking over the city. It was clear that this was a place that was used to receive distinguished guests.
After showing us over, there were several people that ca in and prepared so tea and desserts for us. These were high quality tea leaves and desserts, which showed the hospitality that they had for us.
He Chun Hua gave a gulp when she saw this since she had never seen desserts like this before, but she held herself back in the end since she knew how out of place she was.
She didn't even sit down as she was afraid of dirtying the sofa, but I made her sit down in the end.
Not long after, there was a person that walked in.
This was the city lord and no one else.
