A week later, Lin Fan was at the head of this group heading to the Death Valley.
Hei Gui had said that it would take two weeks for the death energy in Death Valley to reach a peak, so they had ti before they had to arrive.
It was better to seize this ti to make as many preparations as possible before heading into Death Valley.
Even if Lin Fan was confident in the ability of the disciples of the Love Sect, that didn't an that he was negligent. This place was known as a taboo area for a reason and one should be careful when entering it.
The elders of the sect were all confused why Lin Fan decided to head there, but he didn't tell them anything. He just told them that they were holding a training session there and told them to prepare.
As for Mu Bao Bao's side, she agreed quite easily.
In fact, she threw He Chun Hua and Zhao Ling Jun back to Lin Fan with the excuse of giving them practical training.
Though he knew that she was only doing this to save them from being caught by the ministers.
Both of them showed intelligence and since they were Mu Bao Bao's disciples, they could be considered perfect tools for them to use in the future. That was why they wanted to get these disciples involved in politics to have tools to use against Mu Bao Bao's selfishness.
The ministers were happy to see Lin Fan and the Love Sect leaving since that was a major source of distractions for Mu Bao Bao in the first place.
Without them around, Mu Bao Bao might be more focused on her work.
That was what they at least saw when Lin Fan disappeared from ti to ti, so they hoped that this effect would double with both Lin Fan and the Love Sect gone.
But it wasn't the entirety of the Love Sect that went with Lin Fan to Death Valley.
Not all of the disciples could go since not all of them would be able to survive in Death Valley.
Even if the disciples of the Love Sect were stronger than disciples of other sects at the sa level, there were still limits that they had. They were going to a place that was considered taboo land, so it was at a higher level than them.
They had only cultivated for too little ti and their cultivations weren't deep enough.
If they were brought along, it would just hurt them rather than help them.
Which was why only the senior disciples of the Love Sect were taken along with so of the elders of the Love Sect. The junior disciples were left behind with so of the elders to continue cultivating with the resources of the Love Sect.
With the group that he brought, Lin Fan headed to Gate City.
This was the city that was closest to Death Valley and the place where they would be able to gather supplies before heading into Death Valley, though they mostly had supplies already since they brought them in their Storage Rings.
Though it didn't hurt to get more supplies and to get so knowledge from the locals about Death Valley. They lived in the area and should have so knowledge that they wouldn't have as outsiders.
The more knowledge one had, the better it would be.
There are rarely any cases where having more knowledge about a thing would be worse.
It was only when things were considered a very big secret that it would be a problem.
That wasn't the situation in this case, so it was better to know as much as possible.
But what Lin Fan's real goal was…
"The stalkers?" Senior Brother Ying asked after they sent the disciples off to gather information on their own.
Lin Fan just gave a simple nod in response.
Even though this was a simple training trip, which wasn't an unusual thing for a sect, it still drew the attention of the different sects to the Love Sect.
That was because the Love Sect was just too big in the current political landscape of the Mu Empire. The Love Sect was a sect that was backed by the Mu Empire governnt and was close with the current ruler of the Mu Empire.
That ant that as long as the Mu Empire's governnt didn't collapse, there was no one that was able to take down the Love Sect.
At the sa ti, all of the things that the Love Sect did had spread through the different sects, so they had an idea of what kind of amazing things the Love Sect had. They also knew the power of the Love Sect's disciples, so they didn't dare cause any trouble with the Love Sect.
They kept close eyes on the Love Sect just in case sothing happened.
This included this training trip to Death Valley.
For the Love Sect to suddenly take this training trip was sothing that the other sects paid attention to. That was why there were many people who followed the group from the Love Sect.
Hence the stalkers that Senior Brother Ying ntioned.
The main reason that Lin Fan chose to co to this Gate City wasn't actually to get supplies or information. It was to make those stalkers lose interest in following the Love Sect into Death Valley, so they didn't interfere with his true plans.
As for how he would do this…
It was through using the disciples of the Love Sect.
He sent them off as if this was nothing more than a normal sect training trip, sending them off to gather information on their own. He knew that it was impossible for these disciples to hide all the information that they had, so they would spill the secrets to a certain extent.
Only he had given them false information about why they were heading into Death Valley.
The Love Sect disciples just thought that they were there to gain resistance to death energy and to gain experience fighting the creatures that were inside of Death Valley.
They didn't know anything about the herbs that would soon be appearing in Death Valley.
"Do you know what kind of monsters are in Death Valley? I heard that there were all kinds of undead and ghosts there that are hard to fight with normal techniques. I heard that you needed special techniques to deal with them."
"You're saying that the concentration of death energy in Death Valley is much greater than one should expect? If you're caught off guard, you can get corrupted by that death energy?"
"There's nothing growing there at all, so it's not worth entering Death Valley? Then why did the sect master bring us here to fight the creatures in Death Valley?"
These kinds of questions were being asked all over Gate City and were being picked up by the stalkers that followed the Love Sect group.
These stalkers ca to the conclusion that Lin Fan wanted them to co up with.
The Love Sect was just here to fight monsters to gain combat experience and resistance to the death energy. They weren't here for anything else other than that since there was nothing worth anything in Death Valley.
Humans took the path of least resistance when they could, it was in their nature.
Once the stalkers ca to this conclusion, they chose to believe it since it was the easiest for them.
After all, they knew that the Love Sect would co back to Gate City once they finished with their business in Death Valley. That ant that all they had to do was wait for the Love Sect to co back to Gate City when they were done.
Death Valley was a dangerous place, they knew this even before learning about it from the residents of Gate City.
Now that they heard that it was even more dangerous than they thought, they all agreed that it was better to stay in this Gate City to wait for the Love Sect than to follow them to Death Valley.
They didn't want to risk their lives for this.
Their lives were very important to them, more important than any information that they could get about the Love Sect.
That was why when the Love Sect left Gate City to head to Death Valley, they weren't followed at all. All of the stalkers just stayed in Gate City and waited for the Love Sect to co back after their training session.
"It seems like your plan worked." Senior Brother Ying said to Lin Fan once they were a certain distance from the city.
Lin Fan just looked back at him with a faint smile that had a trace of confidence in it.
It didn't take them long to arrive at Death Valley from Gate City.
When they arrived, the disciples of the Love Sect imdiately understood why this place was known as Death Valley.
It seed like completely barren and abandoned land with the way that the death energy killed everything that was there.
This certainly didn't seem like a place that had anything worthwhile here.
Though there were a few of the disciples that realized that there was sothing strange about this place, just like the elders.
The elders could tell that the flow of death energy in this place wasn't normal.
It was as if the death energy was gathering in certain pockets around this Death Valley.
It seed that sothing was indeed happening in this place, that was why Lin Fan brought them here.
