Chapter 120: Tyrion on His Way

Underground Base

POV of Dric Bolton

Doric bent down and looked at the little marvel inside the glass.

It was a rat. A common rat that you would find skulking around just about anywhere.

Except that it was not an ordinary rat anymore. This rat was strengthened by the sacrifice of 143 small animals, 13 different kinds, 11 of each. The sacrificial animals were now lying dead inside a large runic array. Their bodies decayed and hollowed by the ritual.

That was a few hours ago.

Since then, he had perford various tests on the rat and confird that it was now indeed much stronger, faster, and smarter than before.

The Ritual was a success.

Or that was what it seed for now. He had to keep the rat under observation for so ti to see if there were any side effects of the ritual.

If not, then he would move on to a larger specin.

He had already ordered a batch of monkeys from Pentos and Dobby was looking for different kinds of animals for him.

Creating a whole series of cages for all of them was going to be a repetitive and annoying task. But at least he had Dobby with him. Things beca so much easier with him around.

He observed the rat for a few more monts, wondering if there was anything he missed. Then he felt the magical mirror vibrate in his pocket.

He frowned and picked up the call.

"Lyra. What have I told you about not bothering when I’m busy." He asked with a frown.

Lyra, for her part, looked apologetic and gave him a sincere bow, as well as a good view of her own bountiful cleavage that sent a jolt of heat to his loins.

"My apologies, my lord." She said huskily. "But I think this might be important to you."

"Speak then." He said, using Occluncy to calm his raging hormones that were telling him to apparate to her side, bend her down on a table, and ravage her to his heart’s content. Puberty was a bitch.

"Do you rember telling you about Tyrion leaving King’s Landing on his father’s orders to spy on you?" Lyra asked.

"Yes. The report was sent by Chataya. I rember it. That was what... two months ago. How co he’s not here yet?"

"Yes. Well, Tyrion went by the land route instead of the sea."

"That... Why would he do that?" He personally knew from experience that traveling long distances on a horse was really a chore.

"From what I know of Tyrion, he seems like an adventurous sort," Lyra replied. "Or maybe he was just doing so on purpose to piss off his father."

"Perhaps. The last ti I t him; he hated his father. I doubt that has changed since then. But go on with your report."

"Yes. Well, Tyrion seems to have reached Winterfell and stayed there for a few days."

"What does he want from the Starks?" He asked.

"I don’t know. But I guess he wants to confirm the rumors about your and Sansa’s betrothal without seeming rude." She replied.

What?

"Rumors?" he asked. "What rumors? How co everybody does not know about my and Sansa’s situation? That we have an agreent and contract with Starks and a promise for betrothal when the ti cos."

"Well... by the ti you and Lord Stark set up the contract and you made a promise for betrothal; all the lords had already left Dreadfort. And since neither you nor Lord Stark held a Feast to announce the contract or betrothal promise, everything is still very unofficial. Plus, as the saying goes, what happens in Dreadfort stays in Dreadfort. And I doubt Lord Stark would tell others about the contract because of all the conditions you set for him. If words about contract reached the ears of the other people, then Lord Stark would look weak in front of his lords."

Huh... he didn’t even know that he was supposed to hold a feast and officially announce the contract or betrothal promise in front of the other lords.

His aunt was the one who usually inford him about such things... Oh...

Knowing the hatred she held for the Starks; he was not even surprised that she would hide such an important thing from him. She certainly wouldn’t want to throw a banquet for a Stark.

In hindsight, he should really have kept another counselor to advise him on matters dealing with the Starks.

He should also start learning about the customs and traditions of the Northern people even if he didn’t really feel like a true Northerner.

And about holding a feast for his betrothal promise to Sansa. He didn’t want to do that. Although he made a promise, he did for stalling. Not because he wanted to marry Sansa or to form a marriage bond with the Starks.

When the ti ca, he would assess the situation and decide accordingly. He had heard good news from his aunt about Sansa’s developnt, but it was not just a judgnt about how capable and suitable Sansa was.

It was about whether he really liked Sansa or not. And to this day, unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to get that spark from Sansa.

And if we were talking about sparks, there was soone else in his mind. But when he thought about her identity, he knew that many people, especially his aunt, would object. At least they would ask them to choose soone else as the official wife.

He didn’t seem to care much, though. He has brought many innovations to this world until this day and he would continue to do so. Therefore, the objections and thoughts of others were not very important to him.

But there was another thought going through his mind and in his heart, even though he didn’t want to admit it. To marry more than one person. Aegon the Conqueror had done it in the past. Well, his wives were also his sisters, but that’s beside the point.

But he could understand Aegon. Who wouldn’t want a capable and knowledgeable wife at his side when he ruled his kingdom?

What he didn’t understand was that Aegon was seen as a pervert for marrying more than one person, but Robert Baratheon or anyone else who was married had no problem spending ti in brothels day and night.

Personally, he’d rather be a type one than a type two.

He would also need more and more talented people he could trust to help him manage his land, projects, and business ventures. And taking more than one capable spouse was one of the safest of these thods.

The most important point is that children born of their marriage were quite likely to beco sorcerers or witches. If he could raise his children well, if sothing happened to him in the future, his children could protect their loved ones left behind.

Anyway, it was pointless to dwell on it now. It wasn’t a subject he could deal with on his own. Doric would rather die than cheat on his future wife and go behind her back.

Therefore, even if he was going to marry more than one person, it would be with the approval of his future wife. It would not do him any good to think about the subject when it was not even clear to whom he would marry.

"Keep an eye on Tyrion." He told her. "Inform when he leaves Winterfell."

"I will, my lord." She said giving him another sensual bow that revealed much of her cleavage to him.

He cut the magical mirror after that and grimaced at the tent in his pants.

He would need to call for another whore at night if that did not go away.
