WILOW-Ch.446: The Coronation Day

Great Hall of the Red Keep, King’s Landing

POV of Emperor Pendragon

"With the blessing of the Old Gods, I now proclaim Doric Harry Jas of the House Pendragon, First of His Na, Emperor of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First n and Lord of the Great Empire of Midgard. Ruler of Westeros. Protector of the Realm." The Leaf put the crown on Doric’s head and stepped back.

Doric Harry Jas Pendragon.

This was the new na and surna Doric had bestowed upon himself. After all, he had been considering changing his Bolton surna for so ti.

He was the last living Bolton, and frankly, he didn’t quite connect with the history and culture of the Bolton House.

Therefore, he thought a fresh start and a new surna, along with his new Empire, would be a good idea. Considering his old English lineage, his new Valyrian lineage, and being of a Dragonlord, the surna Pendragon seed quite fitting.

As for "Harry" and "Jas" middle nas...

Doric didn’t want to sever ties with his past life completely, and Tyene or Luna still addressed him as Harry in many conversations.

The sa was true for Doric. He often called her Luna while talking with her. And he was sure Hermione would do the sa when she descended to this world.

Therefore, he thought it would be appropriate to keep his old nas as middle nas. Considering Dumbledore had four nas, three nas didn’t seem like much to him.

As for the na Great Emperor of Midgard... Doric honestly didn’t want to dwell too much on imperial and kingdom nas. For him, as long as it was an acceptable na, there was no problem. And Midgard was just as good as any na he chose.

Because Doric knew that when people referred to his Empire, they would most likely call it the Empire of Westeros, Midgard would probably be used more often in official docunts and conversations.

After Leaf placed the crown on his head, Doric rose and stepped back to sit on the imperial throne he had prepared for this coronation ceremony.

Doric had made this throne of glass, and many of its parts were embedded with precious jewels. For its comfort, many sections were also covered with luxurious cushions.

He had no intention of using this throne in his own castle, but he needed one for this ceremony.

And if his throne were any less impressive than the Iron Throne, it would be unworthy of his title as Emperor. And because of this, people might look down on him and talk behind his back.

So Doric used his magic to create a throne that no one else could ever make.

And when he saw the admiring glances the people in the Great Hall cast at his throne, he knew it had worked.

As Doric sat on his throne, Leaf recoiled slightly and then said, "Long Live the Emperor!"

"LONG LIVE THE EMPEROR!!!" the people in the great hall shouted in unison before they broke into claps and cheers.

Finally, Doric’s coronation was complete, and he was now the Emperor of the Great Empire of Midgard and Ruler of Westeros.

For the people of the Crownlands, it was unusual for a coronation to be perford by a Child of the Forest, and they weren’t exactly pleased about it.

The High Septon was particularly upset. But Doric’s permission that King Aegon’s coronation could be perford by the High Septon sowhat appeased him.

The unease of many was also greatly diminished when they understood that the High Septon’s position and the Faith of the Seven would not be interfered with by the new emperor in their kingdoms.

Then, one by one, the two kings and the other lords knelt before Doric’s throne and offered him their oaths of loyalty.

They also presented him with gifts they had brought. So were valuable, others symbolic, but Doric accepted them all with the sa smile.

Doric wasn’t one to dwell on trivial matters. The lords of the North, in particular, were poorer than the other lords of Westeros. Therefore, their gifts weren’t particularly valuable.

But for Doric, all gifts were equally important, as long as they weren’t insulting or humiliating. After all, he wasn’t soone who needed money.

And it was truly difficult for the people here to offer him anything genuinely valuable. After all, many of the items in Westeros couldn’t even compare to the riches Doric had acquired in Valyria.

After Doric’s coronation, it was the turn of the other two kings.

The first coronation was for King Eddard, and like Doric, his ceremony was perford by Leaf.

Then King Eddard sat on his prepared throne and accepted the oaths of loyalty offered to him by the Northern Lords. His throne was on a slightly lower dais to the right of Doric.

In contrast, the Iron Throne awaiting King Aegon was to Doric’s left.

Doric himself had crafted the throne for King Eddard. It was largely made of tal, with so parts covered in wood, and, like Doric’s throne, was covered in luxurious cushions.

The most striking feature of the throne was the giant tal direwolf head atop it. And it seed King Eddard was quite pleased with it, as he said he would take it with him when he returned to the North.

Next ca the coronation of King Aegon, which many people had been waiting for today.

For most of these people, King Eddard was the king of another kingdom, and although Doric had beco their Emperor, the one they would ultimately be accountable to was King Aegon.

With Doric’s permission, King Aegon’s coronation was conducted by the High Septon.

"...may the Warrior grant him courage and protect him in these perilous tis. May the Smith grant him strength so that he may bear this heavy burden. May the Crone, she that knows the fate of all n, show him the path he must walk and guide him through the dark places that lie ahead."

"In the light of the Seven, I now proclaim Aegon Jon of the House Targaryen, Sixth of His Na, King of the Kingdom of Ashborn, Lord of the Crownlands. Protector of the Five Kingdoms and Faith." The High Septon put the crown on Aegon Jon Targaryen’s head and stepped back.

"I, Emperor Doric Harry Jas Pendragon, hereby bestow the title of King upon Aegon Jon Targaryen, effective today, and proclaim him King of the Kingdom of Ashborn," said Doric.

And so Aegon Jon Targaryen’s title as King was officially granted by the Emperor. And yes, after Doric bestowed upon himself new middle nas, Jon had taken his old na as his middle na as well.

The Kingdom of Ashborn was also a na Doric had chosen without much thought.

After the Targaryens lost their throne, the return of a Targaryen to the throne was like a rebirth from the ashes of their rule, and Doric thought this was a fitting na.

"Long may he reign!" High Septon said.

"LONG MAY HE REIGN!!!" Then the people in the great hall shouted in unison before breaking into applause and cheering for the third ti today.
