Now reading: Chapter 226: City Annihilation from Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree, a Eastern novel by Yoyo does not eat grass.

Vermar was over six hundred years old; she was once an extrely beautiful wood elf maiden, and highly talented.

If not for the sudden arrival of the Wizards on this plane that changed everything, the current Vermar should have possessed greater power, and would not have aged so drastically; she could have ascended to greater heights.

But the arrival of the Wizards destroyed everything, and Vermar beca a slave creature marked with a slave mark.

As an old, fading wood elf with significantly diminished strength, Vermar had no value in the eyes of the Wizards, so even if she sat by the roadside, no one would co to ask a single question.

She was like soone waiting for death, sitting by the roadside awaiting the mont of its arrival, only to be discovered at dawn and then cleared away with the rest of the garbage to maintain the city’s cleanliness and tidiness.

This was originally Vermar’s destined end, but she decided to do sothing before dying, to do sothing for the wood elf race.

Even till now, she hadn’t forgotten her identity as an elf priestess.

The elf priestesses are the guides of the wood elf race, tasked with leading the wood elves towards a brighter future.

Initially, due to the presence of the slave mark, these wood elves could not raise even the slightest thought of rebellion within their hearts; the slave mark prevented them from committing any acts of resistance, even just a thought.

But a few years ago, during prayer, Vermar accidentally communicated with a god from another plane.

This god from the other plane was very interested in Vermar, fascinated by the characteristics of the wood elf race and the Wizards who conquered them.

Therefore, this deity took so effort and devised nurous thods to liberate Vermar from the controlling effects of the slave mark.

Now, on the entire Wood Elf Plane, Vermar should be the only wood elf who is not under the control of the slave mark.

Vermar was very grateful to the god, becoming a devout follower.

As for whether this devotion is truly heartfelt, that is uncertain; perhaps the god rely used the slave mark to turn Vermar into His own slave.

In any case, Vermar now follows all of this god’s arrangents.

She intends to save the wood elf race, for which she needs to hold a grand ritual so the god can descend part of His power onto the Wood Elf Plane.

In Vermar’s heart, the power of this god is endless. Even a re fraction of His power descending upon the Wood Elf Plane would be sufficient to sweep away the occupying Wizards.

For this, Vermar is willing to sacrifice everything, sparing no cost to complete this grand ceremony.

In this ceremony, not only does she need to sacrifice everything, but all of Firefly City’s inhabitants will also be offered as sacrifices.

Those guilty Wizards will pay for their actions in this ceremony.

And those sacrificed wood elves, their sacrifice is worthwhile; everything is for the future of the wood elf race.

Vermar believes that if not for the existence of the slave mark, her people would certainly be willing to sacrifice themselves.

For this grand ceremony, Vermar had prepared for a long ti, and today finally marked the last mont.

The seemingly decayed and aged body of hers had, in fact, already been arranged with countless mysterious runes, all inscribed with the help of the god.

Vermar now had little energy left to stand up, only able to sit by the roadside.

She arduously lifted her head, taking a final glance at the sky of the Wood Elf Plane.

This was her lifelong holand; the sky here was still as beautiful as ever.

"How nice..."

As this hoarse voice was heard, mysterious runes appeared all over Vermar, these runes were glowing faintly, simultaneously guiding the surrounding energy particles to pour into her body.

Not only that, but the surrounding rule power was also being guided over, gradually forming a rule storm.

A mont later, Vermar was gone, replaced by a tiny black dot.

This black dot continued to swell, growing into a massive black sphere with a ten-ter radius.

The entire process was extrely fast, taking less than a second.

Despite the swiftness, the Wizards within the city sensed the anomaly here keenly, and a level three Wizard rushed over imdiately.

He sensed the unusual fluctuation of rules; according to reason, there should not have been such intense rule fluctuations on the Wood Elf Plane.

Such rule fluctuations would generally require entities above level four to incite, yet the Wood Elf Plane was rely a low plane, where the strongest existences were demigod level.

When this level three Wizard saw the black sphere, a trendous sense of fear instantly welled up in his heart; it was a forewarning of death’s arrival.

He didn’t have ti to think, he turned and attempted to flee, intending to imdiately cross space to leave this place.

However, due to the mysterious power of the black sphere, even the space around it seed to have solidified, making it impossible for one to leverage spatial power to leave temporarily.

It was like a large stone blocking the path; until the stone was moved, the road was impassable.

Two seconds later, the rest of the Wizards within Firefly City also sensed a trace of anomaly.

Though unaware of the exact issue, they detected the scent of danger through keen perception abilities.

Duke also sensed this ominous feeling of impending danger; he did not hesitate, instantly summoning grains of yellow sand to gather around him.

Deke and the other Wizards’ expressions also changed, and they rapidly employed various ans; with a wave of his hand, an energy shield appeared around them, encircling everyone.

At this mont, the distant black sphere exploded, the explosion made no sound, nor emitted any flas, only a wave of energy nad death swept through the area.

Everywhere this energy wave passed, all buildings and life forms would dissolve in an instant.

Even the ground began to disappear; the entire Firefly City was being gradually devoured, leaving a gigantic pit in its place.

The entire process lasted only a few seconds, and Firefly City was gone; aside from a massive crater several hundred ters deep, there were no signs of life.

A few seconds earlier.

The multi-layered defensive structures constructed by Deke and the other Wizards crumbled layer upon layer, sustaining only a fraction of a second.

Deke, ash-faced, gritted his teeth and quickly communicated with the others using his spiritual power: "I will open a spatial rift; diving into it holds a slim chance of survival, life or death rests on fate."

He pulled out a black worm, only a few centiters long, which appeared and quickly gnawed a spatial rift into the space before everyone.
