At the front of the group, Fandar was riding alongside the burly, scar-faced man Spencer, chatting as they moved along.
"Fandar, you’re planning to quit the mercenary trade?" Spencer asked in surprise.
But almost immediately, as if he realized something, he nodded and continued, "Makes sense, with the luck you had this time, I’d quit too."
Just as Fandar was about to share some inside information with his old friend, suddenly, a luxurious carriage and a team of fully armored cavalry stopped not far ahead.
Clearly, their intentions seemed directed at the Ice Claw Bear Mercenary Group.
"Everyone, stay alert!" Fandar ordered.
The first task that Lord Rein entrusted to him and the Ice Claw Bear Mercenary Group naturally must have no mishaps.
"Fandar, the emblem on the carriage, it’s the crest of the Dalair Family from Fjord County!" Spencer, examining it briefly, furrowed his brows and said in a heavy voice.
"Hmm? The Dalair Family of Count Dalair?" Fandar’s expression also tightened as he spoke.

As a veteran mercenary leader, Fandar was quite familiar with some of the dark methods of Imperial Nobles, and thus, he had an inkling of the Dalair Family’s intentions here.

Times had changed. If this were before, he might have worried or hesitated, but now, as a new subordinate of Lord Rein, there was no longer any need to fear a County Town level Earl’s family.
At this moment, a middle-aged man dressed as a butler approached, smiling, and said, "May I ask, who is the leader of the Ice Claw Bear Mercenary Group, Mr. Fandar? I am Stiss, the butler of the Dalair Family."
With Spencer and Fandar each possessing their unique aura, the butler found it difficult to distinguish which of the two was the leader of the Ice Claw Bear Mercenary Group.
"That would be me," Fandar said in a low voice.
"The Count is in the carriage and would like to have a private conversation with you," the butler said with a smile.
"Very well!" Fandar nodded expressionlessly.
Although he had a general idea of their intentions, since it was unavoidable, it was best to openly discuss it face-to-face; otherwise, how could he report back to Lord Rein?
