Chapter 1011: Chapter 523: Ti flies so fast~

As dawn broke.

Carter climbed out of bed, startling his wife who slept beside him. She called out softly, “Jimmy, why so early?”

“I’m going to work first, you can sleep a little longer.”

“So early?” Rosaline felt for her glasses on the bedside table, put them on, and glanced at the clock. It was only a little past 5 a.m.

Carter had barely slept three hours!

The old man kissed Rosaline on the forehead and walked out of the room with a hunched back.

His wife glanced at him and sighed softly.

He didn’t have to take it on; according to the United States succession law, soone else would assu the President’s position, but truly… the Arican civil unrest was too severe.

Texas was on the verge of action.

A dozen extre organizations had started aggressively recruiting.

So cults were even preaching doomsday theories.

On this Arican soil, many oddities could be nurtured.

“Good morning, sir.” A staff mber cleaning in the White House greeted him upon seeing him.

“Hello, Caster.” Carter squinted to see clearly and said with a gentle smile.

The staffer was taken aback and said with surprise, “You rember , sir?”

“The first ti I ca to the White House, you were already working here, it’s been… 31 years, right?”

“Yes, yes, 31 years!”

Carter remarked, “Ti really flies, look at , I’m turning old and frail, maybe one day, God will invite for tea.”

This jesting comnt made the other person chuckle involuntarily.

After exchanging a few words, Carter prepared to leave. The other person suddenly called him back. Puzzled, he turned around to see the other biting their lip, hesitantly asking, “Will Arica restore order?”

“Trust , buddy.”

Carter gave him a hug and departed, coughing lightly into his hand.

“He truly is a good man,” the staff mber remarked with a complicated gaze and sighed.

The old man walked to the office building—he lived right in the White House. At this ti, no one else had arrived for work except for the on-duty personnel, who all stood to greet him upon seeing him.

“Frank, could you get today’s newspaper for ?”

“Sure, sir!” a middle-aged man responded.

He hurried to gather today’s delivered newspapers, knocked on the office door, and entered, “Sir, they are all here.”

“Thank you.”

When Frank left, he couldn’t help but glance back, softly closing the door.

Carter picked up the newspaper.

He knew that the CIA and FBI, even other intelligence agencies, liked to keep things from him, but not the dia; they preferred to exaggerate the facts.

“Texas extre organization Radiant Sect demands the enactnt of the ‘Second-Class Person Act,’ listing Latinos, Black people, and those of Asian descent as second-class citizens…”

“???”

Carter looked incredulous. He checked the newspaper—Washington Post?

Has the world gone so insane?

“If the Indigenous people were here, the white people would be second-class citizens.” He shook his head, jotting down today’s important notes in a blank notebook with a pen.

So he could convene a morning eting.

An almost seventy-year-old man is working this hard, if you can’t afford a $78 eyebrow pencil, you should reflect on whether you’re working hard enough.

He kept busy until seven-thirty. After having breakfast downstairs, he called people to prepare for the eting.

At eight-thirty a.m…

The Pentagon, United States Departnt of State, Treasury Departnt, Departnt of Justice, and the Supre Court—all those who could be summoned were called in.

Carter’s opening words nearly scared everyone out of their seats.

“Ladies and gentlen, Arica is going to fall apart!”

?????

Splat…

So who just drank water to refresh themselves almost spat it out.

Everyone stared at him in shock and disbelief.

“Hahaha, Mr. Carter, is today April Fool’s Day?” the Secretary of the Treasury laughed, spreading his hands and looking around, but no one laughed along with him.

Carter’s face turned gloomy. This old kind man’s outburst was still so gentle, “This is not funny at all. In one month, Arica’s cri rate soared by 33%!”

“And confidence in the U.S. Governnt has decreased by 22%!”

“Numbers don’t lie.”

“If we keep going like this, are we going to wait until they form a rebel force, storm the White House, and burn it down like in the United Kingdom and Canada before we wake up?”

Not everyone present was useless; after all, those who rose from among the elites were talents.

“We need to restore public confidence in the governnt, and also, deploy the military to combat the far-right ard forces, suppress them, and send them to Angola Prison!”

“Moreover, we should address veteran organizations, and furthermore, distribute the support funds where they are lacking. In addition, I propose enhancing the welfare of veterans and combat forces, especially after their retirent, providing interest-free loans and a series of policy supports.”

What Carter was talking about sounded great, and indeed, it was effective.

Speaker of the House Francesca Daniels interjected, “What about the money?”

“I hope Congress can allocate funds.”

The Senate and the Speaker of the House exchanged glances, remaining silent, as it beca tricky when it ca to money.

Aricans…

You can ask for my life, but you can’t ask for my money.

Carter got a bit angry, sharply exclaiming, “Can’t we take money out and share a bit with the poor?!”

Everyone remained silent.

After a tense silence lasting three to four minutes, the old man finally sighed with so resignation, “Then never mind about this for now. Let’s first deploy forces to suppress the far-right organizations and announce that we will classify the few parties with severe racial discrimination, like the Brotherhood and the Skinhead Party, as terrorist organizations for a comprehensive crackdown on them.”

Soone opened their mouth—that was the Brotherhood, a group with enormous influence in the United States, and most importantly… votes.
