Capítulo 1433: Chapter 684: The Horn!

The map of Texas hanging on the wall was once circled with strategic points by Paul Stuart in red pen, but now it’s covered with a dense array of blue pins by the staff, marking the advancing front of the xican Army, like a swarm of greedy termites gnawing at Texas land from the southern border.

“Corpus Christi Port…completely destroyed.”

The voice of the communications officer trembled, clutching a report pieced together from intermittent radio signals, the edges of the paper soaked and wrinkled by sweat,

“Dock facilities, oil storage areas, mariti patrol boats…and three F-16s at the airport, bombed to scrap before they could take flight, the xican B-1B is still bombing, their aircraft…as if in their own backyard.”

Paul abruptly looked up and stumbled to the map, pressing heavily on the location of Corpus Christi, where the blue pins were already spreading inland beyond the port.

“What about Laredo? What about Brownsville?”

He inquired, his voice still lingering with a trace of desperate hope.

The battle staff beside him turned pale, handing over another report: “Laredo’s border checkpoint was lost at six in the morning, the vanguard of the xican 2nd chanized Division has entered the city, the National Guard Reserves can’t hold, they have no heavy weapons, as soon as the tanks charged, they scattered. Brownsville’s even worse, radio contact is lost, the last ssage said enemy Warthog jets are strafing the highway.”

Paul stood in front of the Austin Parliant Building, shouting to thousands of Texans, “Defend our land,” but now, those brave words have all turned into a joke.

“Victor…that bastard!”

Paul suddenly snarled, slamming his fist hard on the desk, “He has no sense of honor! He doesn’t even dare to declare war! Just sneaked across the border like a thief!”

He cursed xico’s President Victor over and over, from initial roars to later muttering, his voice gradually growing smaller, until there was only helpless panting left.

Exhausted from cursing, he slumped into a chair, hands supporting his forehead.

After an unknown ti had passed, Paul suddenly raised his head, a gleam of madness flashing in those dim eyes, like a dying beast spotting its last prey in a hopeless situation.

He abruptly looked at Yude Wallace, the Minister of Internal Affairs standing in the corner, his voice urgent and resolute: “Yude, imdiately contact those powerful families and the ranch bosses in the west, tell them to assemble their forces!”

Yude Wallace, the Minister of Internal Affairs, was stunned, hesitantly speaking: “Governor, they…they are just businessn, though they have private ard forces, they are rely security, ranch hands, incomparable to the regular army…”

“Incomparable or not, they have to go!”

Paul interrupted, his voice suddenly rising, the madness growing ever stronger, “Texas is about to be gone! Austin is about to be gone! Do they think they can protect their ranches, factories, and bank accounts by hiding behind? Once the xicans occupy this place, they’ll be the first to be dealt with!”

“They are practicing that XX-ism!!”

Cough, cough, cough, this sentence has truly overshadowed all of Europe in recent decades.

Why was the Soviet Union so feared?

Did the United States not have ships and missiles?

It’s because its ideas and beliefs terrified Europe and Arica, and xico, inheriting its will, is even more decisive in so ways.

He stood up, walked to Yude, grabbed his shoulders with both hands, “You tell them, either bring their people, their guns, their trucks to Austin now and join the fight to defend our land! Or await my prosecution for treason!”

“Treason?”

Paul’s voice carried an unquestionable resolve, “Texas has fed them for so many years, they’ve occupied the best land and made the most money, and now with the land at risk, they want to stay out of it? No way!”

He released Yude’s shoulders, turned and walked to the map, his finger sweeping across the area surrounding Austin:

“Tell them, xicans can reach here in three days at most. Their private ard force may not be regular military, but at least they have guns, pickup trucks, can launch guerrilla warfare, can hold critical routes! I promise them, as long as they defend Texas, after the war they can have any land and resources they want! But if they don’t co, once Austin falls, I’ll be the first to deal with them, confiscate all their property, and nail their nas on Texas’s pillar of sha!”

Yude saw Paul’s crazed eyes, knowing the governor had no retreat, nor did he allow those powerful families any retreat.

He nodded firmly, “I understand, Governor, I’ll contact them right away, not one will be missed!”

After Yude left, Paul looked at the map again, finally a slight tremble in those crazed eyes.

Now…can he make an escape?

The door of the command center swayed lightly in the wind, and faint alarm sounds ca from outside.

Paul walked to the window, lifting a corner of the curtain, watching the people running in panic on the streets of Austin, a bitter smile curling at his mouth.

“Victor, you want to swallow Texas? Not that easy.”

He murmured, a sense of madness intertwined with resolve in his gaze, “Even if it ans fighting to the last person, I’ll make you pay in blood!”

Saying such words, it’s truly a bit hard to believe.

Inside xico City’s national television studio, the lights were bright. Anchor Maria Hernandez, dressed in a dark professional suit, sat upright before the cara, the background screen looping real-ti images from the front line.
