Capítulo 1483: Chapter 698: The Death Knell of Belize! (Part 3)

A mother’s intuition is terrifyingly accurate.

Alvarez panicked internally, forcing himself to raise his voice to feign calmness: “No! Mom, what trouble could I get into? I just want so peace! Can you stop bothering !”

“Stop bothering you?” Marta’s brows furrowed tightly, her tone turning severe, “Every ti you lie, you’ve been like this since you were a kid! The louder you speak, the more guilty you are inside! Spill it! What’s really going on?!”

“Don’t force to hit you.”

Having his secret exposed by his mother and thinking about the potential leverage caught on video, Alvarez’s emotions spiraled out of control in an instant.

He jumped up like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, yelling out in agitation: “I said there was nothing, so there’s nothing! Aren’t you guys annoying! Can you give so space!”

After saying that, he turned to storm out of the study to hide in his room.

However, he underestimated his mother’s reaction speed and combat abilities. Just as he turned, Lady Marta leapt forward with an arrow’s pace, her right leg whipped out like a lash, precisely kicking the back of Alvarez’s knee.

“Bang!”

“Ah!” Alvarez scread, instantly losing his balance and awkwardly crashing onto the carpet.

Before he could react, Marta was straddling his back, kneeling on his waist, grabbing his hair with one hand and rcilessly punching his shoulder and near the back of his head with the other, deliberately avoiding the vital spots.

“Yow! Mom! It hurts! Stop it!” Alvarez cried out in pain, struggling, but had no strength to counter under a forr professional’s control.

“Will you tell or not, you brat, daring to shout at , daring to run!” Marta scolded while punching, showing no rcy.

Old Alvarez stood dumbfounded on the side, intending to intervene: “Marta, dear! Stop hitting him! Can’t we just ask nicely?”

“Ask nicely? Do you think he looks like soone who would answer nicely?!”

Marta shouted, “He deserves a beating, he’s been too spoiled in the United States, and now here he’s completely lawless, right! Tell ! What trouble did you cause?!”

Being punched to the point of seeing stars, Alvarez’s psychological defenses crumbled under the physical pain and imnse fear. He howled with a sob in his voice: “Stop hitting ! I’ll say! I’ll say, it’s drugs! Carlos… he touched that new drug! ‘Extraterrestrial Object’! Right there at the casino, they might have recorded it, I’m scared, I’m afraid they’ll co for , I’m afraid of being taken!”

His cries exploded in the study like thunder.

Marta’s raised fist halted in mid-air, her face turning from anger to shock and disbelief.

Old Alvarez was equally dumbfounded, his mouth agape, his complexion turning ghastly pale in an instant.

“Ex…Extraterrestrial Object?” Old Alvarez’s voice trembled, “In… in the district? Casino?”

Fear washed over this once wealthy and peaceful family like an icy tide. They were more aware than anyone what it ant to get involved with those three words in Victor’s territory.

Slowly, Marta got up from her son, looking complexly at him crying on the ground, then glanced at her stupefied husband. She took a deep breath, suppressing the tumultuous waves within, speaking in an unprecedentedly serious tone:

“Get up, tell us everything, word for word, now, imdiately, at once!”

Alvarez lay on the carpet, sobbing, and haltingly narrated how he saw Carlos using “Extraterrestrial Object” in the casino’s VIP room that night, along with the threatening words from the casino manager, Ferming.

“He… he said, it was the ultimate enjoynt, also said anyone who doesn’t try is a fool. Carlos, that bastard, he took it, looked terrifying. Ferming said we were welco anyti, that it was absolutely safe there, but… but it didn’t feel that way to .”

After hearing this, Old Alvarez’s face turned slightly bluish.

He staggered a step, leaning against the desk, his voice trembling: “God, how dare they! In Victor’s territory, this… this is a one-way ticket to death! No, worse than death!”

He suddenly grabbed his hair, speaking incoherently: “No, we can’t stay here any longer, pack and leave! Go back to the United States! Tonight!”

“Run? Run to where?!”

Marta sharply interrupted her husband, although her heart raced, as soone who once faced heavy blows in the ring, her fear quickly transford into a form of extre calmness and firmness.

“Do you think we can escape? If Ferming is truly as our son says, if he’s dare to do such things, then he must guard people from running away! Perhaps people are watching at airports, borders, we as foreigners, stand out, where could we run to? If caught, that would truly be a dead end!”

She took a deep breath, her gaze sharp as she locked eyes onto her son on the floor, sharp enough to peel back his skin to see the truth: “Alex! Look at ! Tell honestly, did you touch that stuff, not even once, I want the truth!”

“No! Absolutely not! Mom! I swear!”

Alvarez struggled to sit up, face plastered with tears and carpet fibers, looking incredibly disheveled, “I was terrified at the ti, just felt that stuff was sinister, Carlos looked terrifying, I didn’t touch a single bit! I dare to swear to God!”

Hearing her son’s definitive denial, Marta’s tightly clenched jawline seed to loosen a milliter, at least it was a small blessing in the midst of misfortune. So long as no drugs were involved, there was still room to maneuver. She pressed further: “Then what are you afraid of, what leverage do they have on you?”

Alvarez’s deanor instantly transford into one of extre embarrassnt, sha, and fear. Avoiding eye contact, his voice dropped low.

“Speak!” Marta ran out of patience, a low growl.

“I like n!”

Alvarez shouted out almost with his eyes tightly shut, and once he finished shouting, his strength seed to drain from him, collapsing, not daring to see his parents’ reactions, “I ca out… at the casino, drank too much, might have said it to Carlos or soone, Ferming surely knows, they said if I disobey, they’ll make this public, let everyone know the Alvarez family’s son is a disgusting homosexual…”

Instantly, the study plunged into dead silence.

You could hear a pin drop.

Old Alvarez froze completely, mouth agape, looking at his son, eyes filled with shock, confusion, and an indescribably complex emotion.

Marta was also taken aback.

She had imagined all sorts of possibilities, massive gambling debts, assault, even provoking a powerful figure’s mistress, but never this. Looking at her son curled on the floor, trembling with fear and sha, appearing even more fragile and helpless than when she had just hit him.

After a few seconds of suffocating silence.

Marta suddenly exhaled a breath of turbid air, and her expression swiftly changed from bewildernt to a fierce determination.

She stepped forward, not to continue beating him, but to yank her son off the ground, the motion almost rough.

“Just because of this?” Her voice was exceptionally calm, even carrying a hint of mockery, “They want to use this to threaten you? Threaten us?”

Alvarez was bewildered by his mother’s reaction, nodding dumbly.

“Listen, Alex Alvarez.”

Marta gripped her son’s shoulders, forcing him to face her, “Whether you like n or won is your own business. In this matter, perhaps you were a fool to trust soone you shouldn’t have, but it’s not a cri, much less a reason for them to blackmail you into dealing with drugs!”

She let go of her son, turning to her equally shell-shocked husband, speaking firmly: “We’re not going anywhere! Running won’t solve the problem; it’ll only make us appear easier to bully, quicker to die!”

“Then, what do we do?” Old Alvarez was completely at a loss.

“What do we do?” Marta’s eyes flashed with ferocity, “Since the district is under Mr. Victor’s rule, and he detests drugs, we’ll tell what we know to the right people!”

“You’re insane?! To report? What about our son…” Old Alvarez gasped.

“Precisely because he didn’t try it! We have the right to report!”

Marta’s logic was frighteningly clear, “We are victims, potential victims. Reporting this behavior is about upholding Mr. Victor’s rules! Only by doing so can we be safe, rid of those people’s threats, instead of waiting to die in our room!”

“Plus, whoever speaks first gets the upper hand.”
