Capítulo 1488: Chapter 700: Swinging a Left Hook Right Away
Ferming, with tears and a runny nose, intermittently began to confess: “The source… the source of the goods was contacted through a Russian, and the location of each transaction was different. Arturo, the VIP area supervisor, and Diego, the head of security, they all know.”
He spilled the beans like spilling beans.
It hurt, it really hurt.
Director Schultz didn’t rush to imdiately handle the intelligence Ferming had just spilled.
He walked out of the interrogation room, taking a deep breath of the relatively fresh air in the corridor, and whispered to the confidant standing outside, “Put more pressure on the VIP area supervisor Arturo and the security captain Diego too. Get the confessions quickly, compare them with Ferming’s, but be careful, don’t kill them. They’re still useful.”
“Understood, Director!” The confidant understood and imdiately led people towards the other two interrogation rooms.
Schultz went to the bathroom, vigorously washed his face with tap water, trying to wash away the violence and fatigue brought by the interrogation.
He looked at his slightly bloodshot eyes in the mirror, knowing that this storm had just begun.
Just then, a police officer ran over in a hurry, knocked on the bathroom door: “Director, Mr. Cesar Torres is here outside, with lawyers, very agitated, demanding to see you imdiately.”
Schultz’s hand, wiping his face, paused.
Cesar Torres, the registered legal representative and largest shareholder of the “Neptune” casino, also one of the district’s famous tycoons, known for his sharp business acun and ambiguous relationship with the political and business circles.
On the surface, he was a successful entertainnt mogul, but there were many rumors about him privately, though he had never been caught with substantial evidence before.
“He ca fast.”
“Have him wait in my office.”
A few minutes later, the atmosphere in Schultz’s office was so tense it was almost combustible.
Cesar Torres indeed appeared as if there to confront with accusations, standing behind him were two lawyers.
Although Torres himself was trying hard to maintain composure, his slightly twitching eye corners and clenched fists betrayed his true emotions.
“Director Schultz!” As soon as Schultz ca in, Torres imdiately stepped forward, his voice sowhat sharp because of suppressed anger, “I need an explanation, now! How could you arbitrarily block my casino and detain my employees without solid evidence? Do you know how much economic loss one day of closure at ‘Neptune’ would cause? And what a blow it is to the district’s reputation? I am one of the top taxpayers in the district, and have made significant contributions to its economic prosperity! Is this how you treat lawful businessn? I demand fairness! I demand justice!”
The lawyer beside him also imdiately chid in, with a firm tone: “Director, our client possesses completely legal operating permits. If the police have any suspicions, investigations should be conducted following legal procedures, rather than crudely implenting such extre asure as site closure, which severely infringes on our legal rights. We reserve the right to pursue legal action!”
Schultz calmly walked to his desk and sat down without imdiately responding to their barrage.
He leisurely took out a docunt from the drawer and picked up the internal phone on the desk, saying, “Bring the preliminary interrogation records over.”
He then raised his eyes, looking at the flushed Cesar Torres, picked up the fresh copy of the interrogation records that his subordinate had just sent in, and weighed it in his hands.
“Your general manager, Ferming, just monts ago, has preliminarily confessed to the fact of providing and inducing the consumption of a new drug called ‘Extraterrestrial Object’ to specific clients over the long term in the VIP room of Neptune Casino. Including but not limited to the son of businessman Carlos, among others. Testimonies, so physical evidence, and his own confession are all here.”
Cesar Torres’s face abruptly changed!
“No, that’s impossible… Ferming is talking nonsense!!”
The lawyer behind Torres imdiately stepped forward, adjusted his glasses, and righteously said, “Director! A confession, obtained in a non-standard interrogation environnt, with questionable authenticity, can’t serve as conclusive evidence. Our client has the right to doubt the legality of this confession. We demand to imdiately et with our client Mr. Ferming and to ensure his legal rights are not violated! This is our right granted by law!”
“Rights?” Schultz’s facial muscles twitched, he suddenly grabbed the heavy glass ashtray on his desk and, without warning, viciously hurled it at the lawyer who was incessantly talking!
“To hell with your rights!”
The ashtray drew a fierce arc, precisely striking the lawyer’s temple!
The lawyer scread, blood spurting from his head, staggering backward, and his glasses flew off.
But it wasn’t over!
Schultz, like an enraged lion, circled the desk and rushed forward, delivering a brutal beating of punches and kicks to the lawyer on the ground, each blow landing heavily on the flesh, making a dull “thump thump” sound.
“Damn lawyer! Talking legality to ? You’re going to blabber about that crap on my turf?”
“Do I enforce the law or not, and how, is not for a suit-wearing dog like you to point fingers!”
“Lawyer, huh? I’ll give you ‘lawyer’!!”
He cursed while beating, the profanities spat out like machine-gun fire.
Until the lawyer on the ground was left with only the energy to groan, Schultz finally stopped, panting heavily.
He adjusted the sowhat disarrayed collar of his police uniform due to his excessive actions, and then, from the inner pocket of his uniform, pulled out a small comb, slowly and carefully combing his slightly ssy hairstyle back to perfection.
