xico City, Guadalupe Island.

Two hours after receiving a call from his older brother, Felix Gonzalez was already standing on the runway of the military airport on Guadalupe Island.

His face showed none of the frivolity typical of his age, only a composure and ruthlessness beyond his years.

He was indeed a promising talent; otherwise, Victor wouldn't have placed him in the position of mayor of Guadalupe Island.

A Black Hawk helicopter belonging to the Navy Air Force had already started to rotate its blades slowly, stirring the humid sea breeze.

He didn't bring many attendants, just two absolutely reliable and agile personal guards selected from the island's security forces.

According to his rank, he was not supposed to have guards, but his brother was one of the principles.

Sotis, in the world, it really depends on your background.

Before boarding, he took one last look at the island, which had gradually prospered under his governance.

The helicopter roared as it took off, racing towards Michoacán.

During the flight, he briefly communicated through an encrypted channel with Defense Minister Kennedy and the military commanders already carrying out operations in Morelia, confirming the progress of the takeover and the current situation.

Defense Minister Kennedy said succinctly, "Felix, command of the 11th Motorized Infantry Brigade stationed in Morelia has been temporarily transferred to you. The authorization code has been sent to your terminal. Go ahead, the military is your backing."

"Understood, Minister."

As the Black Hawk helicopter lowered its altitude, preparing to land at a civilian airport temporarily taken over by the military on the outskirts of Morelia, Felix looked down through the window.

Around the airport runway, he could already see a dense array of olive-green military vehicles and soldiers ard to the teeth, with security lines extended several hundred ters, and anti-aircraft artillery positions and radar vehicles vaguely visible.

The helicopter landed smoothly.

Felix bent down and stepped out, with the fierce wind lifting the hem of his trench coat.

Less than fifty ters in front of the helicopter landing point, three black bulletproof Cadillac Escalade full-size SUVs were parked neatly, their bodies heavy, and their windows so heavily tinted they were almost opaque.

Beside each vehicle stood four n in black suits, wearing earpieces and holding submachine guns.

These people were completely different from the ordinary army soldiers at the airport. They were almost the sa height, with well-built and robust physiques, and their gazes fierce, clearly not the warm type.

They belonged to the xican Guard Corps, responsible for protecting the most important leaders.

In the lead was a burly officer who, upon seeing Felix, imdiately jogged forward, stood to attention, and delivered a clean military salute, his voice loud and clear, "Sir, the 1st Special Operations Company of the xican Guard Corps reports as ordered! I am Captain Major Marcos. From now on, your safety is my full responsibility, and I will follow any of your orders."

Felix's gaze swept over Marcos and his squad behind him. He nodded, "Thank you, let's go."

"Yes!"

Major Marcos waved his hand, and two team mbers imdiately stepped forward, guarding Felix on either side, their movents swift and professional, their eyes cautiously scanning the surroundings.

The other team mbers quickly dispersed to occupy advantageous security positions around.

With Marcos and the two personal guards escorting him, Felix strode towards the middle Cadillac Escalade.

One of the team mbers opened the car door for him, and he bent down to sit in the back seat. The interior was spacious, equipped with communication devices and a simple blast-resistant lining.

The engines of the three Cadillacs roared to life, emitting a low growl. The convoy, like a black arrow, drove out of the airport.

As the convoy traveled on the road toward the city, the scenes along the way were shocking.

Once bustling streets were now empty, with only military vehicles and patrol teams occasionally passing by. Barricades and barbed wire were everywhere, and main intersections were blocked by armored vehicles, with heavy machine guns pointed nacingly at the desolate streets.

The situation had to escalate!

If it didn't, everyone would think the governnt would "grin and bear it," and without killing, public indignation would not be appeased; without killing, the rabble would not be deterred.

Although this rabble… for the sake of money and power, they really were not afraid to die.

Felix's convoy did not slow down in the slightest, and every patrol team and roadblock quickly let them pass upon seeing the special pass displayed on the lead vehicle.

The convoy finally reached the city hall square.

By now, the city hall building was completely under military control.

At the building's entrance, fortifications made of sandbags were set up with heavy machine guns mounted, the soldiers' guns were pointed outward, their eyes vigilant.

On the building's rooftop, even portable anti-aircraft missile teams were deployed, the flag had been lowered, replaced by the flag of the Provisional Military Control Committee and the xican flag.

Felix's vehicle drove aggressively up the steps in front of the city hall without any hesitation.

The car door opened, and Felix bent down to get out.

Surrounded by the elite of the Guard Corps, Felix Gonzalez strode into the main building of the city hall.

Inside the hall, led by the governor of Michoacán, a group of high-ranking officials of the state governnt had already received notice and were waiting anxiously.

Each of their faces was as pale as if they'd just been pulled from a dye vat, showing alternating shades of green and white. When they saw Felix's overly young face and the fierce-looking Guard Corps soldiers behind him, many of their eyelids twitched uncontrollably, and their hearts sank directly to rock bottom.

The governor took a deep breath, stepped forward trying to be cordial, "Mayor Gonzalez, you've had a long journey…"
