Capítulo 1594: Chapter 734: Ready to Clash Again? (Part 2)

Little Bush wearily waved his hand, interrupting him, “Carl, my head is about to explode with pain. Given our current situation, does it really matter what dependencies we have? Let’s just take it one step at a ti, get through the present first.”

The Chief of Staff looked at his sunken eyes and the obvious blisters on his lips, understanding the enormous pressure he was under, could only nod helplessly.

Little Bush leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes and let the dication take effect for a mont, then rembered to ask, “How did your conversation with Victor go? Was it smooth? What conditions did he propose?”

Upon hearing this, Little Bush’s mouth twitched uncontrollably. He opened his eyes, his gaze filled with complex emotions: anger, frustration, and a hint of self-mockery.

He spoke in a peculiar tone: “Smooth? Oh, very smooth. We had a deep and honest exchange.”

Carl Rove, the Chief of Staff, heard this and a glimr of hope appeared on his face.

Little Bush continued, his tone as flat as if he were talking about sothing unrelated to himself: “I smoothly greeted his mother.”

Carl Rove’s expression froze instantly: “…???”

Wang Defa?

Confused!

But don’t expect Little Bush to keep thinking about “pleading for rcy”; all he thinks about is these six words: maintain stability at ho before dealing with external threats.

Hmm…

It reminds of a stock market master.

But there are also so from the Hawk Faction.

The next day, January 20, 1996.

One of Arica’s largest and most influential newspapers, the Washington Beacon, published an editorial filled with indignation and alarm on the front page, its title striking in bold black letters:

“How Much More Holand Will We Lose?”

“Yes, we once laughed to the last in the protracted confrontation with the Great Bear, and we once thought that a new world order led by the United States and adhering to our values was about to erge. However, even before the aftertaste of victory’s champagne had dissipated, we discovered, to our horror, a fatal threat arising from what we once considered our ‘backyard,’ beginning to erode our body.”

“Texas, the land flowing with the blood of the Alamo, is lost; California, the Pacific jewel that nurtured Silicon Valley and Hollywood, has dimd. Now, the xican fleet, warships that not long ago flew the Star-Spangled Banner, flaunt their presence in the gateway of our East Coast, Maine Bay, and their commander openly discusses bombarding our ports.”

“Today they might demand Maine, but what about tomorrow? Will New York, Florida, or even our capital, Washington, fall under their jurisdiction? Every concession, every act of ‘looking at the bigger picture,’ only invites more greed and more aggressive provocations! Are we going to keep retreating until one day we are forced back to the shores we originally embarked from, like the descendants of exiled convicts, shafully ‘returning’ to the United Kingdom?”

“The backbone of Arica cannot break here. We cannot beco vassals in our holand, subjects we once pitied and aided. It’s ti to wake up, ti to stop the internal strife and pointless argunts, and ti to reclaim the courage and determination of our ancestors, to tell Victor, and the whole world: Enough is enough!”

This editorial, like a giant stone thrown into a calm lake, instantly resonated and sparked a massive reaction across Arica, especially among political elites, veteran groups, and conservative citizens.

Cry like “No more retreat!”, “Defend Maine! Defend Arica!”, “The cowardly governnt must step down!” began to frequently appear on street corners, TV interviews, and radio hotlines.

Yet, as this patriotic fervor surged across the Arican holand, across the Atlantic Ocean in Europe, the dia from various countries, watching from a distance, mocked and undermined this editorial and the current plight of the United States with a gleeful and complex mindset.

After all, we are far from xico.

The United Kingdom’s biggest-selling tabloid, The Sun, used an extrely mocking title on its third page:

“Dear Arican cousins, don’t rush ‘back,’ we’re full up here!”

“To see our cousins across the ocean discussing the possibility of ‘returning to the United Kingdom’ is flattering, but unfortunately, we must regretfully inform you: the guest rooms are full. As everyone knows, we’re just a crowded little island, scarcely able to accommodate millions with a ‘holand’ sentint. Moreover, historically, most of those who left were in search of religious freedom, escaping political persecution, or, well, to put it simply, so restless ‘pioneers.’ We sincerely suggest that, instead of considering ‘returning,’ think seriously about how to hold on to the vast lands you now own. After all, in terms of land area, that’s much larger than all of Europe combined.”

And France’s Le Monde went even further.

“The ‘holand’ of the North Arican Continent, strictly speaking, belongs to the Indian Native Aricans…”

These reports and comnts from Europe’s mainstream dia were quickly reposted online and cited by so liberal dia in the United States, like buckets of cold water poured over the heads of the hot-blooded Arican eagles.

“See! The Europeans are laughing at us!”

“They simply don’t understand our pain and resolve!”

“These ungrateful bunch, without us, they’d have been ruled by the Nazis or the Soviet Union long ago!”
