Chapter 1609: Chapter 739: Jesus Could Be a Pirate Too! (3)

The atmosphere suddenly beca a bit awkward. Kennedy also froze for a mont, seemingly not expecting the Leader to have no impression of this historical figure.

At this mont, Casare, who had been listening in, stepped out just in ti. He touched his smooth head with a self-deprecating tone and said to Kennedy, “Mr. Minister, look at my brain, all my historical knowledge has been returned to the teacher. Is this Robert Ross very famous? I seem to have never heard of him.”

He cleverly shifted the awkwardness onto himself.

Kennedy quickly snapped back to his senses and hurriedly explained, “It’s my fault for not making things clear. Robert Ross was a British general in the early 19th century. During the War of 1812, he led thousands of well-equipped British Army soldiers, many of whom were militia from Canada, launching a counterattack from the sea, sweeping all the way to Washington, and ordered the burning of multiple U.S. Governnt facilities including the White House and Capitol Hill. To date, he is the only Commander to have successfully captured and burned the United States capital.”

Casare gave a well-tid exaggerated expression of realization, half-jokingly said, “Whoa! Burning the White House? Is this Patrick’s idol? Does he also want to follow his example, leading troops to burn the White House again one day?”

Kennedy also cooperatively chuckled, though his tone was serious: “Perhaps, but this more symbolizes a certain desire deep within him to break the U.S. hegemony and reshape the North Arican landscape. He has publicly criticized the United States more than once, denouncing the cultural and economic infiltration of the United States as an erosion of Canadian sovereignty. Therefore, I think if we can find the right way to get him, or at least so level of understanding or even acquiescence from the political forces he represents, we can greatly constrain the Creti Governnt, make them hold back their resolve to dispatch troops, or at least sink them into endless internal strife and squabbling regarding the issue of military deploynt.”

Victor listened, quickly assessing the feasibility and risks of this plan. He suddenly looked up, his gaze piercing as he fixed on Kennedy: “You said Patrick is an anti-Arican radical, that I understand. But we’ve just sunk their warship ‘Montreal’, killed dozens of Canadian sailors. Will Patrick ignore this blood debt? Will he cooperate with us, the ‘murderer’, just for anti-Arican sentint, perhaps only verbally?”

Facing his gaze, Kennedy answered with unusual crispness, even with a touch of coldness: “Leader, that ‘Montreal’ ship doesn’t have to be sunk by us.”

“Oh?”

“It could have been done by ‘pirates’.”

Kennedy’s tone was calm, as if stating an established fact, “In the chaotic North Atlantic, the appearance of unidentified, heavily-ard ‘pirates’ or ‘extremist privateers’ is not unimaginable. As long as the stakes are high enough, the truth can be dressed up like a little girl. Even…”

He paused, curling a nearly sarcastic smile, “As long as the price is right, it could have been done by Jesus.”

Jesus could be a pirate too!

The compartnt fell into brief silence.

Victor looked at Kennedy, then glancing at Casare beside him, suddenly laughed, the laugh carrying a few traces of appreciation.

“So, Kennedy, tell , how should we reach this ‘contemporary Robert Ross’? And what kind of ‘price’ should we prepare, to make him believe that the warship was sunk by ‘pirates’ or ‘Jesus’, and be willing to create enough trouble for us within his capability?”

“Those things will have to be handled by professionals, perhaps our intelligence people will better understand what this gentleman needs.”

“Get him on board, and we’ve got Canada on our side.”

Victor nodded at these words, finishing the half cigarette left in his hand, no waste.

Everyone wants to be the boss, but while the boss isn’t dead yet, we have to deliver the final kick, pin him to the ground so he never gets up again.”

“Nobody likes having a huge ass pushing down on their head.”
