Capítulo 1650: Chapter 754: Stone Age

Victor’s finger was still on the Canadian map, his eyes full of greed as if he were looking at a juicy piece of at. Kennedy’s concerns were practical, but obviously didn’t completely dissuade him.

“Cherries are pretty soft too.” Victor smacked his lips, as if already savoring Canada’s resources.

The Defense Minister, Kennedy, who had been silent all along, finally could not hold back, “Sir, the front line is stretched too long. Our main forces are deeply entrenched in Indiana, and the logistical pressure is imnse.

Most importantly, Texas and California, the places we’ve just taken, haven’t been fully digested. Many people are still unwilling, and the covert ‘rats’ are constantly stirring trouble for us.”

He paused, “Many people are advocating for an Arican restoration, wanting to bring back the Arican Dream.”

It’s no wonder.

It’s like… asking soone accustod to being ‘Mr. Hu’ to suddenly beco ‘Brother Gui’. Who would be happy? The resistance is imnse.

From Arican to xican citizen, who wouldn’t resist?

Upon hearing this, Victor reluctantly moved his gaze from the Canadian map, shaking his head with a strange kind of certainty: “I have a connection with Canada. I feel it’s destined to be ours sooner or later.”

These words sounded almost rogue, brimming with a kind of unreasonable confidence.

Casare and Kennedy tactfully shut their mouths, not engaging with his remark. They knew Victor too well; when speaking in this tone, it’s best not to directly refute him.

Victor sighed, furrowed his brow, and took a puff of the cigar on the table. Amidst the swirl of smoke, his gaze sharpened: “Since the rats at ho are not behaving and are always chasing their dead ‘Arican Dream’, find them and clean them out. Kennedy, you handle this personally—be tough and be quick.”

“Understood,” Kennedy responded in a deep voice.

However, just as he finished speaking, the door connecting the carriage was suddenly knocked on, and before anyone inside could respond, a military staff officer rushed in eagerly.

“Sir! Ergency military situation! Multiple control nodes in Gary City and its surroundings, Indiana, are under large-scale missile and remote rocket attacks! The attacks are from neighboring Kentucky and Ohio! The scale is massive, communications in Gary City are temporarily down, and the damage is unknown!”

Silence instantly fell over the carriage.

Victor’s hand holding the cigar froze in mid-air, his facial muscles tensing up instantly. Casare and Kennedy stood up abruptly, their expressions drastically changed.

At the sa ti, Indiana, Gary City, the forr state governnt building (now the temporary managent committee headquarters).

In Angel Urenia’s temporary office, the atmosphere had just relaxed a bit. His eting with Old Rockefeller had lasted over an hour.

Despite the exhaustion from the long journey, Old Rockefeller remained cautious and articulate.

He expressed the Rockefeller family’s desire to “seek cooperation and stability under the new circumstances,” even hinting at a potential future investnt plan of up to 7 billion US dollars, and he did not exclude the possibility of xican national capital entering certain sectors of the family’s industries.

Urenia wore a perfectly asured smile but was quickly calculating the value of this deal and how to report it to xico City.

He was very pleased with the other party’s “good sense,” as the submission of these old financial tycoons held significant aning.

“Mr. Rockefeller, your foresight and sincerity have impressed . I believe, on the foundation of mutual interest…” Urenia raised his water cup, ready to conclude this fruitful eting.

Just then, a sharp, shrill air raid alarm suddenly pierced the city’s tranquility, blasting through the windows and shaking everyone’s eardrums to pain!

Urenia’s words abruptly stopped, his expression instantly changed.

Almost the mont the alarm rang, the office door was violently pushed open, and two Special Service agents responsible for his safety charged in like leopards, their expressions extrely grave.

“Officer! Air raid! Quick! Co with us to the underground bunker! Imdiately!” The lead agent’s tone was urgent, brooking no argunt, as he grabbed the slightly dazed Urenia and led him out.

Urenia’s heart skipped a beat due to the sudden change, but the instincts honed over years in bureaucracy made him quickly react. He suddenly rembered old Rockefeller across him—an important “symbol of cooperation” and “model of submission” couldn’t die in this incident!

“Him! Bring him along!” Urenia pointed to the similarly pale-faced Old Rockefeller, who was trying to get up with his assistant’s help, and shouted to the agents.

The agents hesitated not a mont, another agent imdiately stepped forward to assist Old Rockefeller’s aide, almost dragging him and half-supporting this aged financial tycoon, following close behind.

The group rapidly exited the office, the corridor already in chaos with staff running in panic.

Protected by the agents, they rushed toward a specially reinforced underground bunker entrance deep within the building.

As they dashed frantically down the stairs, distant yet continuous explosion sounds reverberated! Boom! Boom—!

The explosions grew closer, more intense; the entire building began to shake slightly, the overhead lights shook violently as dust sprinkled down.

Within Gary City, so foreign journalists not yet evacuated or allowed by the xican side to stay for “post-war reconstruction” coverage, were originally filming relatively peaceful city scenes. At the sound of the alarms, many hadn’t even reacted.
