Now reading: Chapter 237 - 219: Calling roll with a cigarette, whoever’s from Working as a police officer in Mexico, a Action novel by Working as a police officer in Mexico.

August 7, 1990!

Sunny!

9:40 AM.

Dressed in a police uniform, Victor walked into the venue, adorned with about seven or eight dals on his chest.

"xican war hero!"

"xican anti-drug hero!"

This was for the preparation of the conference, it would be quite disgraceful to sit without dals while officers with decorated chests sat around, wouldn’t it?

Of course, Victor cared about his face, he didn’t hang 114 dals on himself like "Golden Finger", otherwise those unaware might think TMD they need to move their car.

He adorned himself with a few dals, so what!

He had worked hard in two states, almost everyone had a job, children had books to read, and the cri rate plumted from 81% in 1989 to 1.6%!

How could he not enjoy that?

Once he walked into the venue, nearly 300 sitting police officers imdiately stood up and applauded, their clapping echoing through the hall for a long ti.

Victor smiled and clapped, finally raising his hand and gently pressing down, and instantly the hall fell silent.

Sotis he couldn’t help but wonder, what would happen if you clapped after the boss signaled for silence.

You would probably, might, be executed by firing squad!

Victor was spirited!

These were all his loyal subordinates.

Wait another half a year, he was about to officially enter his thirties, an age at which, apart from a few inheritances, even in Africa he would be considered a "real catch".

Samuel Doi was 29 when he led 16 n and seized control of Liberia’s power!

Impressive, right?

And he actually succeeded.

If Victor were to stage another "Night of Broken Glass" and storm into xico City one day, maybe then he would be considered a man of power; for now? He’s just in command of a slightly powerful local ard faction.

He just hasn’t openly declared ard rebellion.

Victor stood on the platform, with bodyguards behind him, about to speak when George Smiley from seat "13" rushed onto the stage, whispered a few words in his ear, and then handed him a note in front of everyone.

Everyone saw Victor’s expression stiffen for a mont as his smile slowly faded.

He nodded, and as George Smiley walked down, he glanced over the people below, sending a shiver down many a spine.

So even felt a sense of unease from deep within.

Lighting a cigar in his mouth, Victor puffed on it without a word, and no one below dared to make a sound. After he took two puffs, he finally spoke, startling everyone with his opening words.

"Gentlen, soone has betrayed us!"

There was a stir among the crowd, most of whom were shaped by Victor’s own "Golden Finger," but there were also true xicans who had shown bravery on the battlefield and been promoted to the Parliant.

"Those whose nas I read, please leave the venue!" Victor picked up the list and looked at it, "Ernesto Santos Elgara."

A police sergeant who had been called stood up, a man with thick eyebrows and big eyes. Hearing his na, he opened his uniform to reveal a shirt underneath with "xico does not need killing!" written in Spanish.

"xico needs peace!"

Victor’s expression darkened as he watched his back.

"Elbergo Fast Jaquin."

He read another na, then a Sergeant First Class in front began trembling as he stood, his cowardly deanor causing Victor to frown. The list noted that this man had taken credit for the work of Victor’s subordinates, that he had been involved in bullying and oppressing won, and not just once had he been accused of possessing hidden drugs.

He spread negative opinions about Victor within the police force.

Bang!!

A gunshot rang out from the door, indicating that Ernesto Santos Elgara, who had just left, had been executed!

Hearing the gunshot, Elbergo fell back into his chair, his face going pale; nearby guards moved to grab him, but he clung desperately to the chair, crying out in terror, "I won’t go, I won’t go!"

His fingers were forcefully pried open by the guards, and he was dragged away by two n.

"Spare my life! Director, I have bled for the anti-drug cause!"

"I have been loyal to you!!"

"Don’t kill , I am a good person, I am a good person!"

Victor took a drag from his cigar and continued reading nas.

"Carlos Sessio!"

"Benjamin Franco Miller!"

...

Everyone watched anxiously, dreading Victor might read their na. After reading about 89 nas, he finally stopped and announced the eting was over.

The crowd was stunned, but soon erupted in violent applause!

Many clapped so hard their hands hurt.

So even stood up right away.

"Hey! Victor!"

This enthusiasm was contagious; at this mont, anyone who didn’t stand up was being disrespectful to Victor.

Everyone stood up, saluted, and shouted loudly.

Victor smoked, enjoying all this.

In truth, the list submitted by George Smiley mostly contained individuals secretly damaging the reputation of the police force, hiding drugs only to sell them later.

Corruption starts from within!

Victor would not tolerate such things.

There were others...

Want to hear the truth or the lie?

The lie is that they made an imasurable mistake, but exactly what it was, cannot be ntioned; the truth, however, is that they lacked absolute loyalty to Victor.

Many people, unearthed by George Smiley, were found to have connections with foreign intelligence agencies. NMD, you’re making side money on my watch?
