The Workers’ Party mbers unanimously cast their votes in favor.

mbers of other parties exchanged glances, at a loss for action.

The five minutes passed quickly.

The numbers appeared on the giant screen behind Speaker Pearson.

"In total, there are 48 in favor, 22 against, and 30 abstentions. I declare the proposal passed and appoint Victor as the Governor of the Northern xican Province," he announced, standing up first to lead the applause.

The mbers of the Workers’ Party stood up cheering.

The "Little Whirlwind" was even more exuberant, clapping ferociously as he cast a defiant glance towards the other parties.

Pah!

The opportunity to curry favor had slipped by unnoticed.

Open your eyes and see whose world this is in xico.

Cuauhtémoc smiled with satisfaction and, shoulder to shoulder with Speaker Pearson, walked out of the Senate. Only once the bigwigs had left did anyone dare to lant.

"xico... the era of dictators has arrived!"

"Aaaaah!!! Victor! Victor..." Soone raised their hand, daring only to call out his na, not daring to curse.

But of course, there were those who were not content.

"Cuauhtémoc is forcefully pushing Victor into power. If he steps down later, who will take over the National Palace? Victor or us? He’s only a few months shy of 30, can the country really be entrusted to him? Luis, you’re the party leader; say sothing," said a portly middle-aged man with a face full of excess flesh to the man sitting beside him. Experience new tales on

The man next to him wore a red tie, the picture of scholarly elegance.

This was Luis Moroni. Originally, according to the plan, he was to take over the National Palace after the previous leader’s demise, but...

Cuauhtémoc directly ford the Workers’ Party, and with the support of many other bigwigs, he secured this position for himself.

No matter, Luis Moroni could wait.

But now tell , with Victor as Governor of the Northern Province, what’s the next step?

Do you intend to make him your successor?

Luis Moroni couldn`t see hope anywhere, and the rage in his heart was known only to himself. However, he appeared composed on the surface, and moreover... he had just cast a vote in favor.

Hearing his deputy’s words, Luis Moroni glanced at him, "How many guns do you have in your hand? How many people? Do you have the ability to overturn the table?"

"Victor does."

"If he’s displeased, perhaps we’ll all be stuffed into concrete pillars by tomorrow."

"But..."

"Don’t rush, just wait," Luis Moroni said with narrowed eyes, "Victor can’t be arrogant for long. There’s plenty of ti. xico is a democratic country. If he wants to climb over our heads, he has to follow the rules. Otherwise, do you think the common people would agree?"

Thirty years in the east of the river, thirty years in the west, do not bully the youth being poor, the middle-aged being poor, nor the elderly... The dead are the most esteed.

"Let’s go..." said Luis Moroni as he got up, with the bearing of a bigwig...

Before he could fully demonstrate that comportnt, his legs gave way, and he nearly fell to the floor, saved only by the assistance of those beside him.

Clearly, the pressure in his heart was great.

The exiting Speaker Pearson, hearing the commotion inside, said to Cuauhtémoc, "Luis and the others will probably not let things rest."

"Can their skulls withstand 7.62 mm bullets?" Cuauhtémoc asked calmly, "If Victor is provoked, you could all be blown to bits."

"He has gone to the United States. The White House supports him. He has influential backers and weapons in hand; best not to anger him."

"Sotis, Victor can be quite good-tempered."

"When is that?"

"When you make him happy, and what we are doing now is precisely that—making him happy."

Cuauhtémoc had already co to terms with his position.

If a puppet role is what’s given, then so be it.

Being a mascot? Then that’s what he’ll be.

At the very least, this is the mark of a man who knows the score.

Better to live with self-awareness.

...

In Sonora State, near the Yaqui River, is Obregon City.

Here is a military airfield covering six square kiloters.

At this mont, large transport trucks were arriving in droves.

The Yanks were still keeping their promises.

They transported tanks, seven Mustang P-51s, and so individual equipnt directly from the military base in Arizona.

Victor personally ca to receive them.

"Back! Back! Back!" soone commanded as the M1A1M main battle tank rolled down from the large truck, its gun still wrapped up, but its classic desert camouflage looked very pretty.

Starting today, the Anti-Drug Force was going to have a whole new look!

"Mr. Victor, please sign here, this is the first batch of sponsorship," a U.S. Lieutenant Colonel ca over with a form and pointed to where the signature was needed.

Victor glanced at Casare, who nodded at him, and he quickly signed his na.

"Thank you."

"It’s what we should do," the officer nodded solemnly in response.

"Boss, there’s an FBI guy who wants to et you, he cos on behalf of Director Floyd I. Clarke," Jason Bourne said as he approached.

"Please bring him over."

Jason gestured toward the distance and two officers were seen escorting a middle-aged man over, with the standard chiseled Anglo features. He extended his hand politely, "Good afternoon, Director Sir, my na is Pearson, secretary of Director Floyd and senior assistant for North Arican Affairs."

Confidant!

"Welco to xico," Victor said with a smile as they shook hands.

After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Pearson and he walked to a nearby safe house, protected by bodyguards to prevent anyone from approaching.

As soon as they sat down, the visitor got straight to the point, "We would like to take Uday away, and regarding your application to purchase weapons, the FBI will help you with that. On top of this, Director Floyd hopes to further collaborate with you."

Taking a drag on his cigarette and raising an eyebrow, Victor gestured for the man to continue.

"First, the FBI hopes that the Anti-Drug Force will protect our employees in xico."

"Second, the Anti-Drug Force and the FBI are to reach an Overseas Assistance Treaty to help each other."

"Third, the FBI will assist the Anti-Drug Force in expanding its influence in Latin Arica and Europe."

There were about six points in total.

These points seed quite reliable; it looked like the FBI was aware that it had upset the CIA overseas and was worried they’d get cut off, so they had to cooperate with Victor.

One wanted power overseas, the other sought influence within the United States, and both were willing.

Of course, Victor agreed.

Pearson was pleased and leaned in closer, "I can let you in on sothing first. The CIA is very unhappy with your departnt, but the President and the United States need to support you, and they have reluctantly agreed. However, our informant in the CIA told us they are brewing a new plan against you."

Just like a sticky plaster!

But having an informant in the CIA, that was pretty impressive. Of course, the CIA had its own inside the FBI; neither could stand the other.

Under Hoover, the CIA had suffered so much and didn’t dare to confront the FBI for decades. Now that he was dead, their own man had taken charge.

Once a tenant farr exceeds his landlord in status, he becos even more brutal than his master.

With a smirk, Victor said, "My troops are united as one!"

If you can stir up a coup against again, I’ll take your na.

Pearson nodded, "Just be careful. What about Uday?"

Victor nodded towards Casare, who darted out the door. In no ti, he was back with two officers holding a leash, like one used for tying dogs.

And Uday... was crawling on the ground like a dog.

!!!!

Pearson looked at Victor in shock. Victor was smoking, squinting his eyes with a smirk, and gesturing openly, "This man is said to have a bad reputation in Iraq, doing whatever he wanted under his father’s na. I just want to teach him that out in the real world, not everyone will indulge him."

"If you’re wrong, you deserve to be beaten."

Pearson opened his mouth, "If he finds out how you’re treating Uday, he might...

"Saddam doesn’t know how to discipline his child, so I’ll do it for him."

"If the United States needs , I can personally fly a fighter jet to the front line!"

Pearson looked at him.

You, a xican, seem to love Arica more than I do.

"Do you need to be led? Don’t worry, he doesn’t bite. If he barks, just smack him, like this."

Victor stepped forward and gave Uday a slap.

"Bark for ."

The man lifted his head, staring at him with furious eyes and trying to stand up, but the officers held him down firmly.

Seeing him resist, Victor hit him again with a slap.

It left his face turning blue.

"Bark for ."

"Woof... woof..." Uday hung his head, humiliation written all over his face. He felt his anger rising, but... he just wasn’t a match for them.

Victor patted his face and said, "I just want you to understand how others feel when you bully them. Behave yourself, Uday."

"Don’t be like your father."

"You’ve got no clout!"
