At the grassroots level, so were already rubbing their hands together, eager to take on the Yanks in a fight.

xicali Border Zone.

The personnel were sparse, with withered trees dotting the landscape.

Only a few Northern Army soldiers, fully ard, were seen patrolling back and forth. If this were in the past, the area would be bustling with traffic, with Arizonans already impatiently heading toward xico.

The drugs here were half the price of those across the border.

But now...

Those who weren’t afraid of death had already tried to cross the border illegally.

The lookout stationed above the checkpoint yawned, rubbing his weary eyes. Suddenly, he spotted several dark figures in the distance, prompting him to grab the binoculars hanging around his neck for a closer look.

With just one glance, his expression changed completely.

He ran nervously to sound the alarm and shouted down to his fellow soldiers, "Hey, Gaint, the Aricans are coming! The Aricans are coming!"

His comrades below ran faster than dogs to deliver the alert.

In the checkpoint office, where a captain was smoking, the alarm caused him to stand up abruptly, his eyes wide with urgency. Grabbing his helt from the desk and clutching his M3 submachine gun, he rushed out, colliding with the soldier coming to report.

"Station chief..."

"I heard it. Load your weapons and call for reinforcents from xicali!" the chief ordered, furrowing his brow.

"Yes, sir!" Gaint responded.

The chief climbed to a higher vantage point, only to see two M551 "Sheridan" light tanks brazenly charging toward the checkpoint, their national flags clearly visible.

"Prepare the MGM-51 anti-tank missiles!" the chief commanded directly, as the soldier beside him hesitated, "Chief, shouldn’t we warn them first?"

"Warn them? What if they run away?"

"Ah?"

The chief coughed twice and said, "The mont they cross the border line, open fire. I want to see just how tough the Yanks’ tanks really are!"

Despite having fewer than 30 people at the border station, he wasn’t about to back down.

His subordinates hurried to ready the anti-tank gun.

They watched, tension mounting, as the tanks drew closer and closer.

"They’ve crossed the line!" soone shouted.

"Fire!!!" the captain cried out excitedly, gesturing, and the Northern Army behind him pulled a cord. With a thunderous boom, the shell sped toward its target.

anwhile, in the lead M551.

The driver was getting anxious and said to the tank commander, "We can’t go any further; beyond this point is xican territory."

"Keep going! xico is part of the United States. Can’t we drive our own tank?" the commander, with unexpected brazenness, didn’t even blush at his words.

The driver, part of the Arizona National Guard and a full-ti auto chanic...

The United States National Guard traditionally conducts drills four weekends per month, with each mber using 48 weekends a year for training. Additionally, they must spend another 15 days training with active-duty forces, known colloquially as the ’militia’.

The thing was, this "militia" was a bit over-ard.

The Yanks’ mores were still pretty fierce.

Now a soldier, the tank driver gritted his teeth upon hearing his commander’s order, and the tracks rolled right over the warning line, knocking over and crushing the sign that read: "xican territory, do not cross!"

"I told you, hahaha, xicans don’t have the guts..." The tank commander’s face held a smirk of triumph, which was cut short by a loud explosion before he could finish his taunt. He felt the tank shudder violently and then, in the next second... everything went dark.

A lightweight M551 tank couldn’t withstand an anti-tank gun, taking a direct hit at its most vulnerable spot—the turret—and its "head" was blown clean off!

It beca engulfed in flas!

Seeing this, the other M551 jerked to a halt and quickly reversed, returning fire with its tank gun.

The artillery shot was off target, hitting a slope near the border station and bringing down rocks that crushed the flag.

"Fire! Fire!" The captain ducked down, raising his arms and shouting loudly.

The US-xico conflict rekindled the flas of war for the first ti since 1848!

...

anwhile, in Juarez.

The command headquarters had been moved here.

Small-scale fighting was still ongoing within the City of Juárez; after all, the city had a population of over a million, and many drug traffickers had begun to hide. Urban warfare would have to continue for a while.

We can’t just bomb everything to oblivion...

What about the millions of refugees that would create?

Victor sat in the command center, wondering if he should accumulate "points" so that he could eventually "go nuclear."

But he only entertained this thought briefly before pausing.

First, he didn’t have enough points.

Second, launching nuclear weapons was complicated; there were no bombers in the sky, no missile cruisers on the sea, and, needless to say, no launch silos. Given the current dostic situation, if you had them, they’d be gone tomorrow.

Third, going nuclear wouldn’t just be provoking the United States; it would be challenging the post-World War II established order!

This wouldn’t just be picking a fight with them; you would be picking a fight with over 200 countries around the world!

If that happened, Victor would beco the first man to enjoy the "Five permanent mbers’ rice."

So, all things considered, fighting the United States with missiles was more satisfying.

At such a close distance, just tossing a hand grenade could kill a few rednecks.

The United States would not dare play with their own lives.

Would the wealthy within the country allow a war to take place on their holand?

Then, to prevent sabotage by Aricans, in addition to the official missile brigades, they’d secretly assemble a convoy to roam around the Northern Army’s territory, ready to launch missiles at a mont’s notice upon command!

This would keep the Yanks on edge!

Just as Victor was deep in thought, he heard a clutter of footsteps. Captain Jason, looking a bit flustered, rushed in. His expression was sowhat grave, and he almost tripped over the stairs in his haste.

"What’s the rush? Did the Yanks attack?!"

Jason Bourne shook his head, "The Aricans didn’t attack, we struck first. An ard conflict broke out at the xicali Border Zone. We destroyed two of their light tanks and killed 8 U.S. Military mbers who crossed the border!"

"A regint of the Arizona National Guard is approaching the border, demanding we hand over the perpetrators!"

"It has begun."

Victor furrowed his brow, "Don’t worry about it. They move troops, we move troops. Call in an Artillery Group from xicali; if they cross over, we’ll blow them up! I want to see who the hell is cowardly."

Now was the ti to toughen up.

"Governor, Mr. Richard Bruce Cheney from The Pentagon would like to speak with you," Miss Krista Schroeder, the secretary, said as she hurried over with a phone and handed it to him.

Victor frowned and glanced at her feet, "Please don’t wear high heels on the front lines, ma’am. My command center isn’t a runway."

Krista Schroeder looked down at her five-centiter heels, not understanding why the governor was upset, but obediently nodded.

He took the phone without a word, and Cheney on the other end didn’t speak either.

It seed... like two kids in a standoff, where the first one to speak loses.

The na Richard Bruce Cheney might be unfamiliar to many, but he was the Defense Secretary under the Bush Administration.

Finally, Cheney couldn’t hold back, "Victor, what do your people an by this? They’ve blatantly killed Arican soldiers! This act is a declaration of war!"

At this, Victor couldn’t help but laugh, squinting his eyes, "Mr. Cheney, are you looking to get hit by a missile?"

The Defense Secretary on the other end was furious, "You need to understand what you’re doing!"

"And you need to understand the nonsense you’re spouting. Arican soldiers trespass into xico, and you think this is your backyard where you co and go as you please? Listen here, Cheney! I’m telling you, if that regint of yours dares to co over, I’ll swallow them whole and add a few thousand widows to your country. Fuck XMDB, Defense Minister? I specialize in knocking out Defense Ministers in North Arica!" Victor hung up abruptly, tossing the mobile phone to Krista Schroeder beside him, who was completely dumbfounded by the exchange.

Just like that, the argunt had erupted?

Could he be any more straightforward?

Victor remained unperturbed.

Despite the quarrel, both sides were rely probing the other’s limits, each wanting to know what kind of person the other was.

"An old-fashioned old man trying hard to save face!"
