Hmm?

Seems the analogy was off.

"Boss, all the supplies are loaded," said the lackey in charge of loading, jogging over, "Are we setting off?"

"No rush, we’ll leave tomorrow."

"Uh? But... the Spaniards on the island are out of food," the lackey stamred. Continue reading stories on .Côm

"Do you think they are your father or your mother? What ti is it? The brothers should eat and drink well first, we can deliver tomorrow, are they going to starve?" Ethan Hunt said dismissively, waving his hand, "Tell the guys, I’m footing the bill for the Red Light District tonight!"

The lackey wanted to say sothing, but Ethan gave him a glare, and he could only shrink his neck.

"Alright, let’s wrap it up, today Victor’s treating!" So sharp-eyed lackey ran to the docks and waved to everyone, and all the grumbling drug traffickers and workers cheered up at the news.

They left the docks laughing, already looking forward to the pleasant night ahead.

Ethan Hunt walked past a trash can at the gate, tossed his empty cigarette pack into it, and left with his hands in his pockets.

Only the security guards were left, patrolling the docks.

A garbage truck drove in, two workers dumped the trash into the back, and pulled away from the docks, waving to the familiar patrolling drug traffickers.

When the garbage truck arrived at the disposal site, as soon as they dumped the garbage, about a dozen people with masks rushed out and started rummaging through it. In no ti, Ethan Hunt’s cigarette pack was found.

It was brought to the Director’s office.

The Director, seeing a string of numbers on it and comparing it with a codebook, deciphered the intelligence. Within an hour, the ssage had already reached the hands of Augustine Przybylski from the Foreign Intelligence Bureau, who verified it several tis before placing it on the Governor’s desk.

This was the current efficiency of the intelligence departnt!

Victor cared a lot about intelligence, give money, give money, and still, it’s freakin’ money!

"A submarine transporting supplies to Socorro Island?" Victor said, raising an eyebrow, not panicking at all, "Let them transport what they want, when the Spaniards dine on the island, we’ll dispatch planes to bomb them, asking if they fancy so bombs, there’s no need to panic over this."

Ah, still short of a Navy!

Just wait until our Navy’s ready, then we’ll screw you bastards!

Augustine Przybylski nodded, "General, there’s another matter I’d like to report."

"Speak."

"The Foreign Intelligence Bureau... is running out of money," Augustine Przybylski said, a bit embarrassed.

Victor stopped short, looking at him, "This is the fifth month, your bureau has burnt through 900 million US dollars..."

"General, we do have results. Currently, we have 678 staff, 223 agents on field assignnts, and more than 4,500 contract employees. The money burns fast, but we’re still far behind the CIA and FBI, who have a workforce of over one hundred thousand globally," Augustine Przybylski hurriedly explained, "If we want to stay competitive in the upcoming intelligence wars, we can’t be thrifty; this is a matter that will determine our fate for a long ti to co."

Victor extended his hand, smiling, "Don’t panic, I know you’ve worked hard, and I’m willing to invest in the intelligence departnt, however, I think we should have other thods, like, contacting KGB offices in Europe and North Arica, hiring them as contractors, and attempting, after the Soviet Union’s collapse, to swallow them up!"

Augustine Przybylski frowned, "Would they agree to that?"

"How are the Soviet’s relations with the Aricans?"

"Terrible!"

"And ours with the United States?"

"Also terrible."

Victor spread his hands, "So there you have it. We’re not asking them to betray their country, just to find them a job to support their families. The KGB is nearly starving."

Starving?

Is that an exaggeration?

Augustine Przybylski rembered that there were significant internal issues in the Soviet Union, such as the vast wealth gap, and the Baltic Fleet hadn’t been paid salaries for a long ti, causing an officer to steal the radar from a warship to sell.

And it was sold to a small country in South Africa.

"From now on, the Foreign Intelligence Bureau’s focus should be on the Soviet side. We want their intelligence personnel, technology experts, scholars, anything we can use, and don’t worry about the cost."

Victor stood up, walked over, and patted Augustine Przybylski on the shoulder, "Work hard, Jason is very busy, and in the future, you might also beco the Director of the xico International News Departnt. You want to add a few more stars to your shoulders, don’t you?"

Isn’t that like telling the second son that the Crown Prince is ill, so he should strive harder?

Even without ambition, Augustine Przybylski’s interest was piqued by these few words, his face flushed, his eyes wide, and he stood up straight with a snap, "Aye! Loyalty!!"

"Wansheng!!"

The General nodded, satisfied.
