Chapter 840: Chapter 453: Victor’s Big Celebration!_2

Their hands clasped tightly under the golden sunlight, and in Guatemala, a magnificent seed began to blossom.

Of course, it wasn’t just here—Colombia, Chile, Brazil…

The xican Intelligence Bureau was busy finding allies, clashing with the CIA several tis.

All of Latin Arica was thrown into chaos!

anwhile, in xico City.

Lights illuminated the streets.

You could see crowds of people holding balloons, laughter filling the air.

They celebrated the arrival of the new year!

In Chinatown, a lion dance troupe perford in the center of “Victor Square,” surrounded by a cheering crowd.

A toddling infant sat atop his father’s shoulders, his clear eyes following the lion dance’s energetic movents, giggling brightly.

Fully ard police officers held onto their patrol dogs, their eyes scanning the surroundings with vigilance.

“Uncle, can I take a picture with it?” a little girl dressed in a skirt nervously asked the officer leading the team.

“Of course.”

The officer smiled, patting the police dog’s head. The dog stuck out its tongue and stood beside the girl, baring its teeth in what looked like a grin.

The dog placed its paw on her skirt, posing for the cara.

“Say cheese~!”

The girl’s father squatted a little, holding the cara, and with a “click,”

he captured the mont of happiness.

“Thank you!” The little girl stroked the police dog, beaming with joy, then hopped back to her father’s side gleefully.

“Director, why are you crying?”

A police officer noticed tears at the corner of the team leader’s eyes and couldn’t help but ask.

“It’s nothing, nothing. Keep patrolling, and if you spot anyone suspicious, detain them first.”

The director wiped the corners of his eyes and shouted loudly.

He had just been lost in thought…

If his daughter hadn’t been killed by drug traffickers, she would be about the sa age now.

A happy life—it truly doesn’t co easily.

The peace many take for granted is sothing others never experience in their entire lives.

No one is allowed to destroy it!

In the office on the top floor of the National Palace,

Victor stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, a cigarette in his hand. He gazed at the bustling streets below, his expression carrying a trace of longing.

But he knew if he went down to “celebrate with the people,” it would only add to the burden on the ground-level officers.

Sotis, being in a high position…

is terribly lonely.

At that mont, his personal cellphone on the desk rang, and he picked it up.

“Victor, Happy New Year~!!!”

Hearing that familiar voice, he couldn’t help but smile. “Happy New Year, Belsaria.”

“Did you miss ?”

“Of course.”

The voice on the other end was filled with joy, “Then open the door.”

????

Victor froze for a mont, lifting his head and looking toward the door with a glimr of hope in his eyes. He stood up and approached it, his hand hesitating slightly on the doorknob…

Creaaak~

As the door opened, he saw Belsaria standing there. “Surprise!!”

She leaped at him, wrapping her arms around him and planting kisses all over him.

Casare, standing nearby, chuckled lightly, offering a small applause.

That Arican girl really was straightforward…

She was practically draped over Victor, nearly smothering him.

“When did you get here?” Victor asked, still catching his breath, a trace of surprise and delight in his voice.

Belsaria laughed happily, “Just got off the plane.”

“The Secretariat received a call from the Special Service Bureau saying soone was looking for . When I went down, I saw her standing outside the door with a suitcase.” Casare, standing to the side, shrugged helplessly.

“She said she wanted to surprise you.”

It was impossible not to feel moved. After all, he was only human. For a woman to fly from Germany to xico—a journey over ten hours—just to see him…

“Co in, co in, let’s talk.”

Casare, not wanting to be a third wheel, quickly found an excuse to leave.

Victor invited her into the office and poured her a cup of hot water.

“Does your grandfather know you ca here?”

Belsaria was direct, “I know what you’re going to say. I also know what happened. I had a big fight with my family. They want to break up with you, but I told them that’s impossible.”

“He told you believe in GC ideals!”

“But love knows no ideological boundaries, does it?”

“Besides, I think your pursuit is noble. And to tell you a secret, back in Germany, I’ve already joined the German GC Party.” Belsaria smiled, “That old man must think I’ve lost my mind.”

“But I want to tell him that we are young. Reality may be cruel, but we will still chase our ideals.”

She touched Victor’s cheek gently, “I am proud of you.”

“I love you, not just for who you are, but for who I am when I’m with you. I love you, not just for what you’ve done for , but for what I can achieve because of you.”

Any young man would’ve been moved to tears by those words. Even Victor felt his chest swell with emotion, like a volcano ready to erupt!

He held her tightly, kissing her passionately, and carried her into the inner room of the office.

BANG~

Outside, fireworks shot into the sky, illuminating half the night sky.

BONG~

On the wall, the clock struck twelve, and a cuckoo bird popped out, chirping.

It was January 1, 1992!!

Happy New Year!

Victor accompanied Belsaria to Chinatown.

According to the new “Holiday Law,” January 1st was a two-day holiday, so none of the xican shops on the streets were open.

Only the Chinese stores were…

A holiday?

Impossible. Don’t interrupt business. Even on the battlefields of Afghanistan, you’d find them selling fried rice.

But as a public figure, his presence inevitably caused a stir when they walked in.

So visitors in Chinatown excitedly shouted,

making the Special Service Bureau agents jittery…

“Who’s that? Such a grand entrance? Is Deng Lijun here?”
