Thyra then explained the hierarchy beyond simple levels to Leon.
According to her, when a monster reaches Level 25, they beco Tier One Evolved after acquiring a large amount of mana for the final push. Then, the evolution continues for every 25 levels.
Once a creature reaches Level 50, it gains the qualification to beco a Tier Two Evolved.
"That’s really..."
Leon sighed in amazent and a bit of displeasure. While it was quite easy for non-human creatures, it wasn’t the sa for humans. They had to et requirents for evolution, then choose their class.
It was a stressful ordeal, and Leon wasn’t really pleased with it.
Resting his spear on his shoulder, he looked at the scuttling spiders in the distance.
Could he handle them all? He didn’t know, and he definitely wouldn’t know without trying.
His eyes glead darkly, and he beca a blur. The closest spider didn’t even know how it had died.
Its severed body parts dropped to the ground, its dark and murky body fluids pouring from the large wounds.
[You have slain a Level 7 Mutated Arachnid!]
Every other spider froze, then turned to the culprit of their kin’s death.
Leon shook the body fluids off his weapon. His eyes were cold as he dashed at another spider. Now wary, the attacked spider tried to defend itself but was rcilessly sliced into two.
With a cry, it fell to the ground, joining its dead mate.
Screeeee-!
The spiders screeched in fury, then rushed at him, their numbers daunting.
Leon only gave a faint smirk.
Soon, he beca a whirlwind of red, grinding the spiders into pieces as soon as they ca close to him.
Their legs were sharp and pointed, but what harm could they do when they couldn’t even reach him?
Leon moved with skill totally unexpected of a young person like himself. He reacted to every movent of the spiders around him, careful not to leave an opening for them.
Although it seed like he was surrounded and sward, only so spiders actually reached him. The rest were just pushing against each other, trying to get close to him.
They did, but only after their frontliners were dead. They died too, allowing those behind them to reach Leon.
It was a completely vicious process.
Their murky body fluids had already splattered on Leon several tis, making him look like a demon. Even his face wasn’t spared.
Yet, his eyes shone with a sharp glint as he thodically cut down each and every one of them.
Finally, after almost fifteen minutes, the last spider fell to Leon’s spear. They were unable to even scratch him at all, only dousing him with their ’blood’.
"Over three hundred. You’re really sothing else."
Thyra’s pleased voice was audible as she looked at the sea of corpses before her.
Leon turned to her and gave a smile. Unfortunately, his current look and condition made it seem scary. The seductive demon didn’t mind though.
He wiped the black liquid from his cheek, then checked his stats. He had leveled up thrice after slaying all the mid-level spiders. The strongest among them was only Level 10—quite weak compared to him.
"Although I’m Level 18 now, I’m still nervous about facing the leader of these spiders."
Thyra stood behind him, resting her chin on his shoulder. His body froze up, becoming rigid.
’Isn’t she... disgusted by how I am?’
After all, he was covered in gross body fluids. Any lady would be disgusted.
Unaware of his thoughts, the woman spoke. "It’s a good thing that you killed its underlings first. Now, it has no choice but to co out of that building and face you—in a berserk state."
"Berserk?"
Leon’s expression darkened, montarily forgetting the feeling of Thyra’s bosom pressed against his back.
"Yes. Oh, here she cos~"
The woman stepped back, her voice becoming serious.
"As I suspected, it’s a Tier One Evolved. Don’t let down your guard."
With that, she disappeared from his view for the first ti, startling him.
However, he couldn’t focus on that at the mont. He could only turn to look at the wide doors of the female dormitory, waiting for the creature.
............
Slice! BANG!
A sword tore a faint gash on a gigantic toad’s flesh, and a large axe fell on its head. However, like it had encountered tal, the axe failed to slice open any wound. The toad burped loudly, then shot its tongue at the burly man closest to him.
Director Samson was hit, thrown back as he almost lost his grip on his weapon.
Selene imdiately went to cover for him, shooting several icicles at the toad. It imdiately recalled its tongue, closing its mouth with a smack.
"Its impervious to other attacks except my lightning and Gwen’s fire arrows. But our attacks are still not enough."
Reymond complained as he charged dashed to the side, avoiding being stomped by the toad.
’Crap!’
Standing to his feet, he imdiately rushed to Selene’s side, staring at the mutated toad warily.
Samson had also risen to his feet, groaning as he touched his chest. Surprisingly, he wasn’t seriously injured by the heavy hit.
Selene glanced at him subtly, suspecting he had an ability that granted his body strong defense.
Gwen was far away, standing atop a car with an arrow knocked on a bow. At the tip of the arrow, pale green flas burned, proving that they weren’t mortal weapons by any ans.
"Then I and Samson will create an opening. I want you to deal your strongest attack at that point. Understood?"
Selene said, her gaze sharp as she stared at the mutated toad. It was the only thing blocking their path to the pharmacy, and there was no running from the toad since it could jump several distances in a single leap.
The Student Union Vice President Reymond nodded, his gaze resolute as he let Selene and the sports director step forward.
"Oi, Selene girl. You really don’t show so respect. I’m old enough to be your father, you know?"
Selene glared at him imdiately, as if his words had triggered sothing in her.
"Alright, alright. Forget it. Let’s just finish this thing."
