Now reading: Chapter 1378 - 299: Forbidden Curse (Part 2) from World-saving Plan: The Only Savior, a Sci-fi novel by Zhao Buqian.

The Undead Princess rely glanced at him, then turned her head away as if she hadn’t heard anything.

"Ahem... Alright, since this Beastman is dead, let’s split up and drive back the Beastman Army before discussing anything else."

McCarthy spoke up to break the awkwardness:

"Yohad, your energy is quite spent. It’s best for you to return to the city first and rest up, try to recover so combat strength."

He knew well the temperant of his old friend, and after speaking, he quietly instructed Regina to escort Yohad back.

By this point in the battle, the Alliance had managed to pull back slightly.

The appearance of the Dragon Clan greatly eased the pressure on the Alliance Army, and with the fall of all Holy Rank on the Beastman battlefield, the Alliance’s defensive lines ceased their collapse.

Of course, most of the credit for this belonged to those few giant dragons.

With their relentless bombardnt from the sky, the Beastman Army found it difficult to form any effective concentrated formations, which allowed the Alliance warriors to regroup their defensive lines.

"Elcurus, though sowhat arrogant, the strength of the Giant Dragon Clan is undeniable. With their help, the Beastman’s advance should be manageable."

McCarthy looked towards the far-off sky, a hint of relief on his face.

"Tch... He’s just a show-off, waiting until now to appear, wanting us to wear down the Beastman’s strength first, so they can kick them while they’re down..."

Yohad sneered, evidently dissatisfied with Elcurus and his dragon kin.

After speaking, he seed to realize sothing, turning to Hillna, scratching his head in explanation:

"Uh... Hillna... you know I wasn’t referring to you..."

Unable to bear it any longer, McCarthy signaled for Regina to quickly take Yohad back to Kuhan City, finally bringing so peace.

Imdiately following, the remaining Holy Ones present began to clear the Beastman Army.

With their involvent, the stress on the Alliance troops was significantly reduced, and the Beastman lines even started being pushed back.

Unfortunately, this favorable situation didn’t last long and persisted less than ten minutes.

As the spiritual attack from the sky continued, Alliance soldiers grew increasingly weak.

McCarthy and others naturally noticed the anomaly from above but had no good way to counter such attacks.

He could withstand it with his formidable strength, but ordinary soldiers couldn’t, and even so lower middle-level professionals began to falter.

After all, on battlefields, numbers matter, and now that many soldiers were losing combat power, the outco seed bleak.

The Alliance’s defenses were breached once again by the Beastn.

This ti, without the need for Holy Rank involvent, the spiritual attacks from the skies were enough to shatter any hopes of Alliance victory.

"Your Majesty! Our warriors can’t hold any longer! Quickly order a retreat! Back to Kuhan City, where we can use the city walls for another round of defense! Staying here is a dead end!"

In a squad of elite Human Clan cavalry, a Royal Guard frantically advised his King.

Rol gritted his teeth, scanning the surroundings and looking at the Personal Guards who had fought by his side all the way.

The original 500-person band had dwindled to less than fifty, each soaked in blood, armor shattered, and so heavily wounded yet fighting on with all their might.

In contrast, the Beastn, though suffering heavy losses themselves, seed fearless of death, charging continuously.

They relied on their overwhelming numbers, exchanging injury for injury, life for life, successfully wearing down the Alliance troops.

With three million Beastman soldiers, even losing a fifth left them with over two million, still crushing the Alliance forces.

Here it was evident just how terrifyingly vast the Beastman Army was.

The Alliance, even with a few Holy Ones holding fort, still couldn’t counter the endless Beastman Army.

Even without the spiritual attack from the sunlight, they might not have clinched ultimate victory.

It was a battle of despair.

Facing the seemingly endless Beastman troops, each Alliance soldier started feeling a sense of helplessness.

"Your Majesty!"

The trusted aide, seeing Rol still hesitating, anxiously called out again.

As if brought back by this call, Rol finally closed his eyes, nodding in painful agreent.

"Alright... Order the retreat! We’ll fall back to Kuhan City for defense!!"

Hearing his command, the trusted aide finally let out a sigh of relief.

Imdiately, the horn for retreat began to sound throughout the Alliance army.

Seeing this, McCarthy looked at the retreating Alliance forces, then at the endless sea of Beastn, biting his lip in frustration.

"You go back with the warriors first, I’ll block those Beastn!"

He motioned for the remaining Holy Ones to leave, while he himself climbed onto the ruins of the Wall of Sighs.

"Finally resorting to the Forbidden Curse..."

Acatus glanced complexly at the figure on the ruins, no longer minding the tone of the earlier command but instead guiding the Alliance warriors towards Kuhan City.

The Forbidden Curse, a spell that can only be cast by those who have reached the Ninth Rank.

It is imnsely difficult to use, even a primary Holy Demon Master may not be able to cast it.

Only soone of McCarthy’s level could guarantee a one-ti success.

Correspondingly, the power of a Forbidden Curse is terrifyingly imnse, described as annihilating heaven and earth post-use.

Though this is docunted in the Magic Guild’s records, and what rcenaries across the continent say, truly few have witnessed it firsthand.

McCarthy stood alone on the ruins, not chanting the forbidden spell right away, instead setting up layers of Protection Barriers around.

About five minutes passed; by then, the Alliance army had retreated far away, and only he was left standing near the Wall of Sighs.

In the distant sky, ten giant dragons continued to bombard the rear of the Beastman forces.

They were indeed the race with the largest reserve of magic power in the world, fighting intensely since earlier without showing signs of fatigue.

Though Elcurus brought only ten dragons, their combat power matched tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands, of Alliance soldiers.

"Whew~"

Gently exhaling, by now McCarthy had completed all his formations.

He glanced at the retreating direction of the Alliance Army, closed his eyes for a mont in silent contemplation, and then began to chant the Forbidden Curse.

"Eternal Ice Prison, Cold Frost Elf originating from the Void Plane, Frost, Solitude, Sighs, Shadow... Supre Will of Ice, Queen ruling over the Ice Realm, I, McCarthy Larentra, Holy Demon Master, pray to you..."

"Dominator, Decay, Destruction, Rebirth... I am aware of the order you have set, I have understood the fate you bestowed... I beseech you, shower your grace and turn this land into your Ice Kingdom..."

"Benevolence, Holy Grace, Storm, Frost... Your will shall rebuild upon the ruins, the Ice Flower will bloom again, please open your eyes and watch over ..."

McCarthy’s voice rose from deep to high, each word enunciated clearly, ensuring no mistakes.

Chanting a Forbidden Curse is considerably longer compared to other spells.

The manner of chanting shifts from guiding natural elents to a ritual-like prayer.

As McCarthy’s voice resonated, a pair of icy blue eyes seed to open in the void, their gaze piercing through the endless void to this place.
