Capítulo 1408: Chapter 314: Wailing Abyss (Part 2)

On the other side, at a location within Sunset Marsh, ten Star Alliance markers lit up.

Soon after, a phantom flew up, and the ten markers ford a circle in the air, then opened a large silver teleportation gate.

Dwarf King Yohad was the first to co out from it, followed closely by McCarthy, Regina, and others.

During this process, one of the ten markers started to flicker and then quickly dimd.

This indicated that it had been depleted due to maintaining the energy of the teleportation array.

Although Zhang Xiaoman closed the array imdiately after passing through, he couldn’t help but be slightly stunned when he saw the Star Alliance markers he had imprinted below.

“Used up two of them?”

Zhang Xiaoman expressed his distress.

He looked at the three Frost Giant Dragons circling in the sky and found his answer.

The size of these three creatures was too large, and to let them pass through the teleportation gate, the power had to be increased, hence the faster than expected consumption.

The three dragons looked at him with an innocent expression.

Although they didn’t understand what happened, through the fluctuation of spiritual connection, they could sense that the undead mage who had resurrected them seed to be in a bad mood.

Zhang Xiaoman cast a glance at them in annoyance, then waved his hand to put away the remaining Star Alliance markers and flew onto the head of Elcurus.

“Let’s set off, head to the Abyss as fast as possible. Elcurus, you do know the way?”

He beckoned the others to ride along. Naturally, they couldn’t rely on themselves to fly on this journey.

That would be too inefficient; it’s better to travel aboard the airborne king, a Frost Giant Dragon.

Of course, Elcurus opposed this notion.

Being the king of the Dragon Clan, even in death, would not tolerate others riding on its head.

Moreover, among these people were a few it had not been on good terms with in the past.

Unfortunately, it was no longer in control of its fate, so its opposition was invalid.

However, to evenly distribute the burden and make it feel better, the other two dragons couldn’t escape serving as mounts, welcoming their passengers amid roars of discontent.

It must be said that experiencing misfortune together does seem to relieve the dragon’s mood, and Elcurus’s fury also diminished considerably.

“Let’s go, now is not the ti to argue over this. We must hurry across Sunset Marsh, and then still need to climb the Tower of Paradise. We need to reach the Divine Country today.”

Zhang Xiaoman gave the command, and the three dragons reluctantly spread their wings, beginning their journey across Sunset Marsh.

Sunset Marsh is located on the western side of the Adren Kingdom, being the kingdom’s border, once encompassing the capital city’s territory of Rochester.

Three hundred years ago, Sunset Marsh was not a marsh; it was known as Sunset Forest, where the Full Moon Duchy once stood.

This place was rich with resources and inhabited by many magic beasts, constantly attracting countless rcenaries to venture there.

However, following a divine war, the extensive Sunset Forest was erased from the maps.

Replaced by a decayed, filthy swamp exuding the aura of death.

Though many magic beasts still live here, they are now all creatures that favor the murky swamp.

Difficult to deal with and lacking hunting value, this led to rcenaries no longer visiting.

Zhang Xiaoman initially looked at the environnt below with great interest, occasionally even using his perception to find hiding marsh beasts.

But the environnt was truly monotonous, with nothing but withering decay, which eventually caused him to lose interest in observing further.

The dragon clan’s flying speed was swift, unchanged even after becoming undead.

They set out from the east of Sunset Marsh and, after traversing over eight hundred kiloters to the Abyss entrance, barely an hour had passed.

“Master, that’s where we lived. Just pass through it to reach the Abyss.”

On Elcurus’s head, Hillna raised her finger, pointing to the vast area shrouded in black fog.

Zhang Xiaoman glanced downward.

In front of him was an endless expanse of black fog, replacing the decayed marsh as if filling the entire world ahead.

The black fog seed capable of shielding one’s perception, and even soone of Zhang Xiaoman’s ability couldn’t see what lay beneath.

However, he could clearly feel that beneath the fog was a notably deep underground space.

The fog appeared like a cloud layer floating above that space, separating it from the land world.

“The Abyss is larger than I imagined.”

Zhang Xiaoman silently marveled.

He initially imagined the Abyss as a vast sinkhole, entering which would lead to a new subterranean world.

But in reality, the Abyss had no visible entrance or do.

Its form resembled a new continent, though its elevation is much lower than Erin Continent.

How vast the Abyss truly is, no one knows.

They only know it lies at the continent’s far west, the only area absent of oceans.

Of course, perhaps there is an ocean at the Abyss’s edge, but no one knows for now.

Zhang Xiaoman instructed Elcurus to lower altitude for a closer look at the floating black fog.

“These black fogs seem to have abnormal effects on the human body…”

He sensed the aura within the fog, filled with the cold scent of death.

Its exact composition was unclear unless tested with the Eye of Truth.

But the frigid temperature near minus ten degrees was an evident sign ordinary people couldn’t survive there, explaining the undead’s preference.

“The lower you go, the colder it gets. In many places, even we Undead Clan cannot tread, our bodies would be instantly frozen into ice sculptures, eternally ice-sealed, unable to live or die…”

As Hillna spoke these words, recalling certain sorrowful mories, her voice betrayed a rare emotional fluctuation.

Zhang Xiaoman glanced at her but did not inquire further. Matters regarding the Undead Clan would be postponed until they returned from the Divine Country.

“Let’s go, to the Tower of Paradise. Hopefully, it truly leads us to that place.”

He instructed Elcurus.

They ascended to higher altitudes, returning to the skies.

Their destination was the Tower of Paradise, from which they’d ascend to where the gods reside.

Thus, for them, there’s no need to venture into the Abyss. Continuing to fly in the skies suffices.

This leg of the journey took significantly longer than the initial segnt, spanning over two hours, yet still not reaching the legendary Tower of Paradise.

It wasn’t that the Frost Giant Dragons’ flight distance was markedly longer than before; indeed, from the Abyss edge to their current location was but several hundred kiloters.

The cause of delay was the poor flying conditions.

Everywhere, fierce, icy gales blew, and in so areas a strong gravitational pull seed to exert from below, attempting to drag them down.

If ordinary magic beasts were in their place, they likely would have long since fallen into the endless icy Abyss below.

Fortunately, these three dragons, forr king of the Dragon Clan, turned Frost Giant Dragons, adapted naturally to the environnt.

With Zhang Xiaoman’s Floating Skill assisting them, flight beca easier, lending an elent of safety to their travels.
