An exclamation erupted above Jilinget’s head; it was Yohad’s rough, heavy voice.
Everyone stared ahead with eyes full of disbelief.
In front of them, there was no Barrier, no Tower of Paradise; everything they had just seen was nothing but deception.
"What... What’s going on here... Where is the tower? Without the Tower of Paradise, how are we supposed to reach the Divine Country...?"
A look of shock slowly faded from Acatus’s face, replaced by an inescapable sorrow.
Zhang Xiaoman slowly withdrew his finger, and there was no trace of any black on his right hand anymore; the area that had just been scorched by the yellow Barrier was now restored to its undamaged state.
No, to be more accurate, even that scorched condition was just an illusion, as his right hand had never been injured all along.
"This is an illusionland, um... it’s a Magic Barrier primarily ant to deceive human senses. The Tower of Paradise we saw and those protective arrays were rely Illusions it created."

This concept didn’t exist in the world’s magic systems; McCarthy and others were encountering it for the first ti.
As he explained, everyone gradually ca to understand that illusionland was not the form of Spiritual Attack they initially imagined.
The premise of a Spiritual Attack is to interfere with the target using spells on a spiritual level, such as the simple Spiritual Shock spell, commonly seen in the magic systems of Erin Continent.
So more potent Spiritual Attack thods, like Mind Control that can temporarily manipulate an enemy’s mind, were also docunted in so lost magical tos.
Even like what Zhang Xiaoman encountered previously in the First Universe, where the Black Mountain Goat and Crimson Day could cause biological mutations via spiritual pollution, those essentially counted as Spiritual Attacks.
But illusionland is different.
Although it creates Illusions to deceive others, these Illusions are rely a physical-level blockade of the five senses and don’t reach the spiritual level.
It’s like the TV, neon lights, or VR glasses people commonly see.
The images and projections played out here can’t be called Spiritual Attacks.
Yet they adhere to similar principles as illusionland, though the latter far surpasses them.
Thus, Zhang Xiaoman, with his Immunity to ntal attacks, didn’t initially recognize that they were unknowingly ensnared in such an illusionland.
After his explanation, everyone had a mont of realization.
"Turns out, that’s why this Barrier seed so sturdy; it was all deceit!"
Dwarf King Yohad shouted, cursing.

Regina appeared worried, saying:
"But if the Tower of Paradise doesn’t exist, then how do we ascend?"
The crowd began to realize just then.
Indeed, if the Tower of Paradise didn’t exist, then their original plan to ascend to the Divine Country was dood to fail.
Zhang Xiaoman pointed ahead, signaling them not to panic.

He spoke as three Frost Giant Dragons carried them forward.

Coupled with the observation of the Eye of Truth, he could confirm that ahead, the true "Tower of Paradise" indeed existed.
Sure enough, as they flew west for several tens of kiloters, a massive and unimaginable mountain appeared before them as the cloud cover receded.

Looking up, all they saw was the boundless mountainside.
