Chapter 1414: Chapter 317: Divine Kingdom (Part 2)
Twenty thousand ters, thirty-five degrees.
Twenty-five thousand ters, forty degrees.
Thirty thousand ters, the temperature reached over fifty degrees.
“What’s going on, the higher we go, the temperature just keeps rising…”
Zhang Xiaoman stared intently at the sky overhead, his mind racing as he considered all possible scenarios.
“Could it be… the barrier causing this…?”
Suddenly, he thought of an explanation.
Perhaps it’s the presence of the no-fly barrier, which interferes with the planet’s atmospheric operations at certain levels, causing pressure anomalies and temperature rises above the convection layer.
Fortunately, fifty degrees is not an unbearably high temperature.
Even though this temperature is hard to reach during the hottest heat of sumr, it still doesn’t have much impact on everyone.
As everyone’s altitude increased to thirty-five thousand ters, Zhang Xiaoman suddenly noticed that the surrounding light seed to beco sowhat abnormal.
A strong light shimred before their eyes, especially around the area of the Sun.
The glow seed to beco extraordinarily dazzling in a very short ti, making it difficult to keep their eyes open, let alone look directly at it.
“It’s the Light God’s doing! Definitely that guy! A cunning scoundrel! Doesn’t even have the courage to face us directly!!”
Yohad cursed angrily.
The others also showed serious expressions.
The opponent had evidently discovered them and was using the Sun to attack them.
If this continues, there’s little guarantee that we won’t face further ambushes.
Seeing this, Zhang Xiaoman silently shook his head, knowing that this situation was unlikely.
These people stood alongside him, and with the ability of the Dark Star Ring, those so-called divine beings shouldn’t be able to explore their location.
Yet this made the abnormality of the sky’s light harder to explain, leaving him quite troubled for a mont.
By now, the surrounding temperature had risen above seventy degrees.
This environnt was hotter than the largest desert on Water Blue Star during its most sweltering tis, making it almost impossible for any creature to survive here for long.
Following that, over a short distance, the temperature increased roughly ten degrees for every one thousand ters climbed in altitude.
When everyone reached the mountain peak, the temperature nearby had almost reached a hundred degrees.
Even the Holy Ones of Ninth Rank could barely withstand it.
Warriors like Yohad fared better since their physical strength had long surpassed ordinary people.
This temperature was nothing to him; it was just discomfort due to the heat.
But fragile mages like McCarthy would have been burned by the high temperature if they hadn’t activated shields for protection.
“Can’t stand it! It’s too hot! I’m taking off this damned armor!”
After a while, Yohad couldn’t help but shout.
He quickly reached up and removed his set of epic armor, feeling sowhat better afterward.
The temperature had almost reached over four hundred degrees, and the rate of temperature rise was shocking.
Zhang Xiaoman handed everyone a set of Corona Combat Suit, which finally allowed them to breathe a sigh of relief.
Although the Corona Combat Suit was effective, it would appear fragile if a fight broke out later, unable to withstand the aftermath of battle and prone to damage.
This was one of Zhang Xiaoman’s concerns.
If they lost the protection of the Corona Combat Suit in such a harsh environnt, these individuals might instantly lose a significant amount of combat power.
“The light above is getting more dazzling, what is that?”
Now, less than five hundred ters away from the top, Acatus shielded his forehead with one hand and struggled to look up at the sky.
“I don’t know, but it must be so kind of formation, I think it’s a trap set by the Light God, these cunning Pseudo Gods must be afraid, using such despicable ans!”
Yohad exclaid loudly.
To this day, he firmly believed that all this was thanks to the Light God.
The others, despite having doubts, shared so of this sentint.
After all, according to their logic, the divine being capable of manipulating sunlight could only be the Light God.
At this mont, the sky was flickering with dazzling white light, bringing temperatures over a hundred degrees while filling the entire sky.
Zhang Xiaoman watched in silence as this scene unfolded, increasingly sensing an absurd notion.
“Where is this… exactly…”
Now he couldn’t open his eyes due to the blinding light, but what he knew was that the true sky couldn’t possibly be like this.
Initially, he thought it was because of the barrier that turned this place into what it was.
But after sensing, there wasn’t any Dark Spiritual Power among the scorching rays around, and these temperatures were purely environntal factors.
Now, an incredible guess erged in his mind.
If this guess were true, the reality of this world would be even more brutal than everyone had initially imagined.
“Look over there, what’s that!”
Regina suddenly pointed to a spot at the mountain top.
Everyone turned at her call, only to find a massive fire-red sphere, roughly several hundred ters away, contained within a tal vessel, emanating terrifying heat constantly.
The fireball’s diater was at least ten kiloters, and the vessel holding it was even larger, spanning almost the entire mountain peak and taking up much of everyone’s field of view.
Previously, the reflected light from the sky was so dazzling that they couldn’t look directly at this place.
Now, as they neared, they saw what lay there.
“Is that… a forge!?”
As the Dwarf King and Advanced forging Master, Yohad was the first to recognize the origin of that thing.
“Could it be the forge the divine being uses to create the Divine Artifact!?”
Zhang Xiaoman’s expression froze, a jolt shot through his heart.
“Sure enough, things seem to be developing toward the worst direction…”
He smirked bitterly.
What forge for creating Divine Artifacts, if he’s not mistaken, this is likely an energy converter for heat reactions.
The blinding light in the sky wasn’t caused by the Constant Star’s rays but was a unique temperature emission device.
By converting the heat of the fireball within the forge outward, it ford a widespread illumination over the entire world.
In other words, the sun he had seen in this world earlier was actually fake, a re illusion created by the massive fireball before their eyes!
“The sky is fake, the Constant Star is fake… this isn’t the planet’s surface, it’s an underground space!”
Zhang Xiaoman instantly realized.
Now, everything made sense.
Why the temperature rose instead of falling after they exceeded the clouds.
Why pressure didn’t drop but instead resud stability within a relatively stable range.
Why dazzling brilliance constantly radiated in the sky, as if covered with a pile of aluminum alloy boards, making it almost impossible to keep one’s eyes open.
The key issue lay here; this space wasn’t a planet barrier but a massive underground cavity!
Zhang Xiaoman sighed to himself.
Though he couldn’t fathom what sort of technique was used to achieve this, the truth of it all was unreasonably harsh for this world’s inhabitants.
Looking at everyone still observing the forge, he opened his mouth but ultimately said nothing.
Telling them now would only cause unnecessary worry, better to explain it slowly after all this is over.
