He hadn’t been as afraid when facing death just a mont ago as he was now.
Seeing her suddenly beco stupefied, Zhang Xiaoman was also a bit baffled.
He never expected that a casual remark of his would elicit such a big reaction from her.
This expression made him feel as if he had turned into a terrifying Monster, as if he were about to devour her the next second.
"Are you alright? Are you hurt from before?"
Zhang Xiaoman asked with so doubt.
On hearing this, Narui suddenly shivered.
She abruptly snapped back to reality, shaking her head vigorously to indicate that she was not injured.
Her emotions were complex at this mont.
After learning that the other might be an Alien from an Advanced Civilization, her heart was filled with initial panic and then a sudden sense of resolved generosity to face death.
"Now that the other party is already standing on our planet, it’s too late to say anything else... No, I must pull myself together!"
A series of psychological fluctuations arose, and Narui silently motivated herself.
"Now I don’t just represent myself, but the entire civilization of Guleng Star! I must carefully consider my every word and action and not allow for any mistakes... Otherwise, if I offend the other party, they might very well..."
The more she thought, the more frightened she beca.
Narui knew that what she faced now was not sothing that could be compared to any monster.
Although monsters had brought about an apocalypse for humanity, she believed that the calamity would eventually pass.
But the visitor from Advanced Civilization in front of her was different.
If they displeased the visitor, what might await them could be a Planet Annihilation Cannon or a graviton bomb or sothing of that sort.
At that mont, the girl imagined nurous scenes of civilization shattering and involuntarily swallowed hard with a "gulp."
She did not want to beco a sinner against civilization.
Zhang Xiaoman glanced at her sowhat inexplicably.
He had no idea that the girl in front of him had just imagined so much in that brief mont.
He could now sense through his strong spiritual power that this young woman seed to have suddenly beco very frightened of him.
"You, hello... Please, how should I address you? If it’s convenient, could you tell ... where you co from...?"
Narui organized her language and mustered the courage to speak.
Zhang Xiaoman looked at her.
"As for what you should call , just call Ji Xing. I co from the Star Alliance; have you heard of it?"
He actually thought rather highly of this girl.
She was a bit dazed, but since he was new here, he planned to try to get so information about Guleng Star from her.
"Star, Star Alliance!"
The girl was startled upon hearing this.
Zhang Xiaoman’s eyebrows slightly raised.
"Oh? You’ve heard of this na?"
He actually just asked casually.
After all, according to the Holy Angel, there seed to have been an existence called the Star Alliance in this area of the universe where he was.
Since she was from an Advanced Civilization, she might indeed know sothing. Now, judging from the girl’s reaction, it seed there might actually be so gains.
However, Narui’s next words imdiately dashed Zhang Xiaoman’s hopes.
"No, I haven’t heard of it... I just thought the na you ntioned sounded so impressive, so that’s why..."
Exactly.
Star Alliance, Star Alliance...
With such a na, it must undoubtedly be a formidable force.
Just the na alone made Narui feel as if she already saw a vast civilization spreading across the entire Phantom Spirit Star Vortex.
They had gathered countless lower-level civilizations like her own to form an organization called the Star Alliance. Just thinking about the scene made her envious.
"Hmm, how did you end up encountering this monster? Where is your gathering place? How many people are there?"
Zhang Xiaoman took over from where the girl had left off and continued to ask.
He was now eager to deepen his understanding of this planet, as many of his remaining plans would unfold from there.
However, Narui seed a bit dazed, admitting sowhat embarrassedly:
"I, I’ve been hiding alone, haven’t found any other survivors. I ca out looking for food this ti because there was nothing left to eat at ho, I was just too hungry to bear it, but I didn’t expect to still run into Savardo..."
Right then and there, the girl recounted her experience of hiding from the disaster up until now, telling everything to Zhang Xiaoman.
As she spoke, she couldn’t help but sneak peeks at the monster’s corpse on the ground, then her little face would turn pale in fright at its ferocious and terrifying appearance.
Zhang Xiaoman now realized that this young lady was a bona fide hobody.
Although she had seen several passing squads of survivors, her timidity had kept her from revealing herself.
She chose to silently endure alone, hoping that one day the Federation’s military would co to her rescue.
Actually, her approach was not wrong.
For ordinary people facing such a sudden crisis, there really weren’t many options to choose from.
Zhang Xiaoman had read post-apocalyptic novels as well.
In many of those stories, the true nature of humanity that ca to light during such disasters was indeed very ugly.
The girl before him seed quite nice-looking; if she had rashly chosen to leave her ho, she probably would not have ended up any better off than she was now.
But this ant that Zhang Xiaoman’s current potential targets were limited to her alone.
Unless he abandoned her and went sowhere else, trying to find survivors like finding a needle in a haystack, betting on whether he could encounter these so-called sanctuaries or survivor enclaves.
That would clearly be unwise.
"Gurgle gurgle~~"
While he was pondering, a noise suddenly arose.
Zhang Xiaoman looked over and saw Narui covering her shrunken belly with a flushed face.
"Looks like you’re pretty hungry. Wait here, I’ll go get you sothing to eat."
As he spoke, he plunged the Purple Cloud Divine Sword into the ground and activated the Unlimited Teleportation ability, disappearing right in front of Narui.
Zhang Xiaoman had now arrived aboard the Dawn.
There were many vending machines here, selling food created by particle printing technology.
After making a random selection, the machine in front of him began building food from pre-prepared materials, and in no ti, a steaming loaf of bread erged from the slot.
Picking up the bread, Zhang Xiaoman activated Unlimited Teleportation again, and his body reappeared in front of Narui.
The total ti he disappeared was very short, adding up to no more than a minute.
Narui was initially startled and deeply curious when she saw the man with golden light spilling from his eyes vanish suddenly.
She hesitated, moving closer to inspect the spot, trying to understand how he did it.
"Jiu Jiu!"
Jiu Jiu was left behind and now called out to her, seemingly saying not to worry, her master would be back soon.
Then, as quietly as he had gone, Zhang Xiaoman’s figure reappeared on the spot.
This thod, akin to instant teleportation, gave the Guleng Star girl quite a shock.
At the sa ti, it confird her previous guess.
The man before her, possessing such miraculous space movent technology, was certainly from an advanced civilization.
She seed to rember seeing this on so forum, that this kind of space technology was a symbol of an advanced domain for a civilization.
Narui scratched her head.
She couldn’t quite recall where exactly she had read about it.
However, it seed she didn’t really need to dwell on these things too much at the mont since the man before her appeared to harbor no ill will towards her, at least not for now.
This could be inferred, in part, from the strange and unknown food item that he was handing to her.
"Eat up."
Zhang Xiaoman said.
