Now reading: Chapter 970 - 87: The Black Monster from World-saving Plan: The Only Savior, a Sci-fi novel by Zhao Buqian.

A possibility that Lune was sowhat reluctant to believe appeared in his mind.

"The images captured by the Explorer and those on that mysterious island, could it be that all of this is related to that organization...?"

This thought almost instantly surfaced in his mind, making his expression turn grim.

If that’s really the case, then what aning do all the plans I made before hold?

What Lunar secrets, what Extraordinary Origin, what getting ahead.

It’s all just laughable wishful thinking.

This place has long been soone else’s backyard, where would I get a chance?

"No... maybe things aren’t as bad as they seem... perhaps there’s only a chaotic magnetic field phenonon here similar to the mysterious island, but that doesn’t an the organization is necessarily involved..."

Lune’s eyes lit up slightly, sensing a glimr of hope.

The more he thought about this notion, the more plausible it seed.

After all, what he currently sees is just the natural phenonon of magnetic chaos, without any human traces found within it.

Nearby, a group of lab coats were still beating their chests in frustration.

Technicians were frantically searching for a solution, and the entire control hall was plunged into chaos.

Two hours later.

"What! You say you want to continue with the Moon landing plan!?"

The elderly man in a lab coat looked at the middle-aged man before him in shock, disbelief written all over his face.

"Matthews, you must be crazy!"

He finished speaking and began pacing back and forth in the room, as if thinking about sothing.

"Professor Houston, you know we have no other way now. If we want to find out what’s hidden on the Moon, sending people to land is the only way."

Lune, sitting on the sofa opposite him, strongly persuaded the old professor.

"Professor, you are the director of the Space Agency; don’t you want to uncover the truth there? This opportunity is once in a lifeti! If you can join in proposing, then given the current situation, I believe the plan should be approved."

The old man’s footsteps paused slightly upon hearing this, evidently moved by Lune’s words.

Yes, being from the aerospace field, more than anyone, he yearned to understand the mysteries of the universe.

Not to ntion the huge Long Spear on the far side of the Moon, even without these things, he would be the first to support the Moon landing.

"Matthews, you’re right, but..."

He hesitated and spoke:

"But the funds required for the Moon landing are too big; without sufficient allure, those damned guys won’t agree..."

"A mysterious Long Spear, the origin of myths, the secrets of the universe... and even the hidden Extraordinary Power, is this not alluring enough?"

Lune interrupted him:

"You should be aware of those damned monsters outside, right? It’s uncertain what this world will turn into next; if we fall behind during this opening, how can we catch up later?"

"So, the plan for the Moon landing is imperative. We not only have to go up but must go up at the fastest speed! Within three months, we need to reach the Moon and find out what happened there! Discover its secrets!"

Houston widened his eyes, saying:

"Three months? Matthews, are you crazy? Do you know how long the original Apollo program took? It was 8 years! You want us to compress 8 years into 3 months? Do you think it’s possible!?"

Lune looked at him and said:

"Professor, you and I both know it’s absolutely possible. Our current aerospace technology and reserves have vastly surpassed the past, and it’s entirely feasible to redesign a manned spacecraft for the Moon in three months!"

"..."

The old professor was silent for a while before saying:

"But... that would require more funds; I don’t think those greedy vampires would agree..."

Lune shook his head.

"Professor, leave that to . What I need now is your signature. As long as you agree to this plan, half of our success is already achieved..."

Their conversation continued for quite a while before it ended. By the ti Lune left the office, the sky outside had gradually darkened.

...

"Boom!"

In New York City, on Saint Peter Street, a loud rumble sounded, and a wall unexpectedly collapsed.

The crowd was thrown into a brief commotion, with passersby startled by the sudden change.

"What’s going on?"

A young Black man, the closest, bravely approached to check out the situation.

But when his eyes looked into the darkness behind the wall, he couldn’t help but shudder, a vague sense of danger arising in his heart.

However, being just an ordinary city dweller, he didn’t pay much heed even to this palpitating feeling, continuing to walk forward.

It’s not that he lacked intelligence to avoid crises, but it’s hard to develop a real sense of crisis growing up in such an environnt.

If it were the rcenaries from Wildfire rcenary Hall here, they would have distanced themselves imdiately.

The crowd around grew larger, all craning their necks, eager to see what was happening behind that collapsed wall.
