Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character Chapter 128: The Stele’s Inner Realm
As Lin Langtian took his place on the first seat, the massive plaza fell silent. Despite many casting watchful, calculating glances, no one dared move just yet. While Lin Langtian's strength and reputation made challenging him unthinkable, he could only hold one seat. With nine more seats available, many believed they might still have a chance.
In a remote corner of the plaza, Lin Dong sat on his tiger mount, surveying the crowd. His face looked tense and distracted, as if troubled by sothing. If Lin Langtian were to see him now, he might easily guess the reason—Lin Dong had not yet located the Devouring Ancestral Symbol. Still, even with his frustration, Lin Dong's gaze remained sharp and fixed on the remaining nine seats, waiting for the right mont to strike.
Minutes of tense quiet passed before soone finally moved. From the direction of the Wang Clan, Wang Yan stood and prepared to seize a seat. But a voice imdiately challenged him.
"Wang Yan, do you really think you're qualified to hold one of those seats? Maybe if your older brother, Wang Zhong, were here, it'd be a different story!"
With Lin Langtian's power towering over the younger generation, Wang Yan's attempt was t with skepticism. In response, Wang Tong, an elder of the Wang Clan, rose, casting a stern gaze over the crowd.
"Anyone dissatisfied can co forward. The Wang Clan will demonstrate exactly why Wang Yan deserves a seat!" Wang Tong's words were backed by a surge of powerful energy from the Wang Clan, silencing many who had second thoughts about challenging Wang Yan's claim.
Wang Yan took his place, followed by Qin Shi from the Qin Clan and Huangpu Jing from the Huangpu Clan, each bolstered by their family's considerable influence. As expected, four seats now belonged to the Four Great Clans.
Soon after, top factions from the Great Desolate Province claid two more seats, with Mu Qianqian from the Grand Demon Sect and Wu Ci from the Martial Alliance each securing a place. However, one group was conspicuously absent—the Hidden Puppet Sect. Their absence puzzled so, while others celebrated the opportunity for another open seat.
As the minutes ticked by, competition for the remaining four seats grew fierce. Finally, the seventh seat was claid after a brief clash between the Azure Wood Sect from the Qing Empire and the local Lion Fist Sect. With only three seats left, eyes filled with desperation and excitent darted between them.
"It's ti for Lin Dong to make his move," Lin Langtian murmured quietly, his gaze flickering as he glanced down from his place on the stone platform.
Lin Langtian knew Lin Dong's cautious, decisive nature better than anyone. Lin Dong was skilled at waiting for the perfect mont to act, and his instincts rarely led him astray. Sure enough, just as Lin Langtian had predicted, Lin Dong took a deep breath and stood up from his tiger's back, his eyes montarily resting on Lin Langtian's figure before he strode forward. With a firm grasp, he drew out his Sky Scale Ancient Halberd.
"The eighth seat is mine," Lin Dong declared. "Anyone who disagrees can co forward."
Lin Dong's bold words sent murmurs rippling through the crowd, but unlike in the original tiline, his claim faced little resistance. Though Lin Dong was from a branch family, his recent association with Lin Langtian gave him a newfound air of respect, as people recalled how Lin Langtian had supported him earlier. A Creation-level practitioner who challenged Lin Dong was quickly dispatched in minutes, after which most competitors redirected their focus to the last two seats.
Though the Wang Clan resented Lin Dong's success, the presence of Lin Langtian at the forefront stilled their objections. Finally, after fierce and relentless competition, the final two seats went to representatives from the Elysium Valley and Dragon Tiger Gang, securing all ten positions.
As the last seat was claid, the crowd sighed in resignation. After a few minutes, the Stele of Creation finally showed signs of activation. Rings of mysterious light pulsed out from the stele, enveloping the stone platform and all ten seated figures, including Lin Langtian.
As the light brushed over Lin Langtian's body, he felt a cool sensation sweep through him, like a gentle probe scanning his being. Before he could respond, a sudden wave of dizziness struck him, and a swirling light vortex appeared on the stele's surface, releasing an irresistible suction force. A portion of Lin Langtian's consciousness slipped from his body, drawn into the vortex.
The ten figures on the stone platform sat as if frozen, their statuesque forms encased in shimring light as the stele emitted a faint hum, echoing like an ancient bell. Its calming sound filled the air, quieting the onlookers and imbuing them with a sense of peace.
Within the Lin Clan ranks, every gaze fixed expectantly on Lin Langtian's still figure, hopeful and curious.
They all wondered: would this extraordinary talent from the Lin Clan finally obtain the treasured legacy of the Creation Martial Arts?
