Since the Devourer's fall, the Devouring Ancestral Symbol had changed hands many tis, with Lin Dong's predecessor, the Dark-Eyed Elder, being only the latest in a long line. Most likely, this map held clues left behind by another forr owner of the Devouring Symbol.

"It's too bad that it's just a fragnt," he sighed, running his hand over the incomplete map.

"It's a good start. Even if you found the full legacy now, you're not strong enough to claim it anyway," Ling Yi's voice advised calmly. "It's best to be patient; you might find the other fragnts later."

Nodding, Lin Langtian put the map back. It might not be much for now, but it was valuable information. If he could gather the pieces in the future, he might unlock this hidden treasure. With that thought, he stood up and finally opened the door.

Outside, Lin Dong had been waiting patiently. The mont Lin Langtian stepped out, Lin Dong's weary eyes instantly brightened.

"So powerful…" Lin Dong murmured as he felt the strong aura that Lin Langtian now exuded. After three months, Lin Langtian's presence seed even more imposing.

Once they were seated, Lin Langtian wasted no ti. He handed Lin Dong the original Devouring Ancestral Symbol, which floated in the air between them.

"I apologize for the delay; so things ca up unexpectedly," Lin Langtian said with a slight smile.

Lin Dong sighed with relief as he accepted the Ancestral Symbol, waving his hand dismissively. "It's all right. For sothing like the Devouring Symbol, it's worth waiting a little longer."

Gazing at the ancient symbol that emitted a unique power, Lin Dong couldn't help but admire Lin Langtian's integrity. Of course, he had no idea that Lin Langtian had successfully created a duplicate Devouring Ancestral Symbol. Placing the symbol safely away, he glanced back at Lin Langtian and asked, "So, what is your second condition for giving the Devouring Ancestral Symbol?"

Lin Langtian gave a slight, enigmatic smile. "That…will have to wait. When the ti is right, I'll let you know. Until then, please don't forget."

This second condition was for a future opportunity to copy another Ancestral Symbol, should Lin Dong acquire more of them. If things went as Lin Langtian predicted, Lin Dong would likely find other symbols in the years to co, and Lin Langtian planned to call in this favor when that ti ca.

Lin Dong seed a little taken aback by the vague answer but nodded in agreent. He didn't know what Lin Langtian had in mind, but he felt grateful. To trade only two promises for the Devouring Ancestral Symbol was beyond generous.

After a pause, Lin Dong hesitantly asked, "If you don't mind asking, since the Dark-Eyed Elder didn't recognize you as the Ancestral Symbol's owner, how did you know it was destined for ? Was it just a hunch?"

This question had weighed on Lin Dong's mind for the past three months; he was genuinely curious about why Lin Langtian had singled him out as the one to receive the Ancestral Symbol.

Lin Langtian smiled, a little surprised by the question. Of course, he knew that Lin Dong's destiny was to beco a powerful martial master, but instead of explaining the complex reasons, he responded thoughtfully.

"Lin Dong, there's a technique I've learned called the Qi-Observing Technique."

"Qi-Observing Technique?" Lin Dong asked, tilting his head in confusion.

"Yes. It's an art that lets sense a person's fate or 'qi,'" Lin Langtian explained, chuckling. "When I observed you, I saw qi as powerful as a dragon—a clear sign of greatness. So, I entrusted the Devouring Ancestral Symbol to you."

With a slight smile, Lin Langtian patted Lin Dong on the shoulder and turned to leave.

Lin Dong watched as Lin Langtian disappeared into the distance, his figure slowly fading from view.
