"This must be your first ti at our Mountain and River City Mystic Master Guild, sir. Are you hoping to beco a Mystic Master? In that case, please fill out this form. Once you’ve done that, you can participate in the Spiritual Power test. If you can successfully pass the test here at the Mountain and River City Mystic Master Guild and prove you have the aptitude, you’ll be able to enter the Guild and study the Mystic Master Dao!" Smiling at Qin Feng, the young woman in green robes sized him up with her beautiful eyes as she gracefully explained the registration procedures.
When she finished, her beautiful eyes swept over the pensive Qin Feng, and she smiled. "If you’re lucky, you might soon beco a respected Apprentice Xuan Master. Every month, the Mountain and River City Mystic Master Guild has an Official Xuan Master lecture on the Mystic Master Dao. If you pass the test, you’ll be qualified to attend. And if your luck is truly good, you might be noticed by a high-status master and accepted as a disciple. That would be like ascending to the heavens in a single step!"
The Mystic Master Levels are strict, divided into Apprentice Xuan Masters and Official Xuan Masters. Generally, Apprentice Xuan Masters can only inscribe so Basic Xuan Arrays.
Official Xuan Masters, on the other hand, can master High-level Profound Arrays. If one can inscribe a First-level Mysterious Array, they are a First-Grade Xuan Master. If they can inscribe an even more complex Second-level Profound Array, they beco a Second Grade Xuan Master. The most powerful Mystic Master in Mountain and River City is a Second Grade Xuan Master.
Qin Feng glanced at the young woman before him. Her cute and innocent appearance was quite endearing. Qin Feng smiled and spoke.
"It is indeed my first ti at the Mountain and River City Mystic Master Guild, but I’m not here to be tested for Mystic Master aptitude. I’m here to collect my Mystic Master Badge."
"You’re an Apprentice Xuan Master?" the young woman in green blurted out, stunned.
"Er, Apprentice Xuan Master? I suppose so," Qin Feng said, blinking as he rubbed his chin, his tone uncertain.
Qin Feng himself wasn’t sure what level of Mystic Master he was. His mind held countless High-level Xuan Arrays, and he had even broken through so Taigu Profound Arrays in the past.
However, laying out High-level Xuan Arrays was extrely draining on one’s Spiritual Power. Without the support of imnse Spiritual Power, it was simply impossible to inscribe them. In his past life, at his peak, Qin Feng could easily inscribe Ninth-level Profound Arrays. But when he crossed through Space-Ti, most of his Spiritual Power had been obliterated, with not even one percent remaining. He had no idea if he could still inscribe High-level Xuan Arrays.
The young woman in green saw Qin Feng’s expression and imdiately misunderstood. A flicker of disappointnt crossed her beautiful eyes; she assud this Martial Artist was just another reckless fool coming to the Mystic Master Guild to cause trouble.
It was common for Martial Artists to stumble upon so knowledge about the path of Profound Arrays through strange channels and then assu they were Mystic Masters, running to the Guild to get tested. The Mystic Master Guild found it incredibly annoying but couldn’t turn them away. The young woman in green had already encountered several such Martial Artists this month alone!
The young woman in green forced herself to remain professional, but the earlier interest in her eyes had vanished. Her tone beca strictly business.
"Mr. Qin, the procedure is as follows: anyone collecting a badge from the Mystic Master Guild for the first ti must first undergo a Spiritual Power test. If your Spiritual Power ets the standard, we can then arrange for your Mystic Master Level assessnt. Only if you pass that can we issue a Mystic Master Level badge..."
"If you agree, I will register you now. After that, you can proceed to the Spiritual Power test."
"Alright, let’s follow the procedure." Qin Feng’s gaze swept over her, taking in the change in her expression. ’Of course I know what she’s thinking.’ But he didn’t offer any explanation, rely nodding faintly.
"Na?"
"Qin Feng."
"Age?"
"Fifteen."
"And who is your ntor?" the young woman in green asked, looking up after writing down the information.
"I don’t have one." Qin Feng rubbed his nose, a little embarrassed. Then, under the young woman’s knowing gaze, he added, "I’m self-taught."
The young woman in green shot Qin Feng an irritated look. As she finished writing, she muttered to herself. ’Another reckless fool. Becoming a Mystic Master by being self-taught? In your dreams! What a waste of my ti! That detestable guy... Master Liu Xi is probably lecturing on the path of Profound Arrays right now. If it weren’t for this blockhead, I could have listened a bit longer. Master Liu Xi said that as long as I work hard, I have a chance to beco an Apprentice Xuan Master within five years!’
The young woman’s mood instantly soured. She felt an intuitive dislike for the guy in front of her. After filling out the form, she pointed irritably toward a nearby corridor and jerked her chin. "Take the form and go over there for the test."
Qin Feng shrugged innocently, wondering to himself how he had managed to offend this cute young woman. ’She was as gentle as water a mont ago, and now she’s so fiery.’ He could only chalk it up to won being fickle.
Holding the registration form, Qin Feng arrived at a large door a mont later. Two hulking n stood guard outside.
As his gaze swept over the two n, Qin Feng’s pupils constricted slightly. He realized they were both Martial Artists at the Martial Arts Seventh Layer Heaven or above. When the two n looked over, an oppressive aura washed over him, even stronger than that of Uncle Fu.
’Such extravagance. Even the guards are Martial Artists at the Martial Arts Eighth Layer Heaven or higher!’ Qin Feng was inwardly impressed. He showed them the registration form in his hand, and the two n nodded. One of them took the form from Qin Feng, delivered it inside, and ca back out a mont later, waving him in.
"Thank you," Qin Feng said with a nod.
...
Upon entering, he found a spacious hall illuminated by soft, bright lights that made it seem like dayti. A group of people was in the middle of testing. Qin Feng saw that Master Liu, who had entered earlier, was also present. He stood on a high platform, befitting his noble status, holding a stack of registration forms and nodding from ti to ti. It seed he was in charge of selection.
A few young n and won in Mystic Master Black Robes stood beside Liu Xi, likely his disciples.
When another person entered the hall, a few people looked up with puzzled expressions. Seeing it was just an unfamiliar young man, they turned their attention back to the testing platform in the center. A person on the platform currently had their hand on a lustrous Crystal Ball. A mont later, the crystal emitted four faint rings of light. A voice quickly announced the result.
"Yu Yuan, Innate Spiritual Power, Level Four. Unqualified!"
Qin Feng shook his head. He knew that Innate Spiritual Power was divided into eighteen levels. Level One was the weakest, and Level Eighteen, the strongest, was also known as Perfect Spiritual Power.
The Cultivation of Profound Arrays was incredibly draining, so the requirents for Innate Spiritual Power were exceptionally strict. If one’s Innate Spiritual Power was too weak, then no matter how intelligent they were, their achievents on the path of the Mystic Master would be limited. They could never beco a true Mystic Master.
As a rule, only those with an Innate Spiritual Power of Level Six or higher were qualified to beco a Mystic Master. Below this threshold, it was fine to dabble, but forcibly trying to deduce Profound Arrays could lead to death from ntal collapse.
An icy gaze locked onto Qin Feng. Guan Ruo Lin had spotted him the mont he entered. Her beautiful eyes, filled with chilling intent, shot him a look before she turned to whisper a few words to Liu Xi. Liu Xi raised his head and glanced in Qin Feng’s direction, a hint of cold indifference in his eyes. He nodded, his stare now tinged with disgust.
