"What the hell was he doing?" She didn’t understand his reasoning. She opened her eyes wide in surprise. She couldn’t believe what was happening. She struggled to push Donald away.
Because she had plastered on her arm, she did not have much strength, and she could not push him away.
He yearned for her lips to touch his mouth, and he kissed her with gentle thoroughness. This was a familiar feeling, sothing that he had felt before. He closed his eyes and enjoyed her sweet taste and the softness of her lips. He felt as though it was the feeling that he was always looking for.
What the hell did he take her? Edie’s eyes were full of tears. She felt shaful and furious. Clenching her teeth, she stepped on his feet with her high heel. Feeling the pain in his foot, Donald frowned. He stopped and left her lips, leaving him breathless.
"What the hell are you doing? Are you out of mind?"
Donald was still trying to catch his breath as he stared at Edie. He remained motionless and did not say a word. It seed as though he was feeling the after-taste of the kiss. He looked eager. She knew he wanted more than a kiss. She looked into his eyes and could see the darkness, and suddenly she felt sick.
She looked directly into Donald’s eyes and showed him how disgusted she was. Then she slowly wiped her lips with her hands, "You make sick."
He was nobody to her. How dare he pull her into the property room and kiss her. What was wrong with him? Donald didn’t care, and suddenly a wry smile appeared on his face, "You asked what I wanted. Now I will tell you what I want you. If you divorce him, I will give the necklace back to you."
Surprised at what he said, Edie’s eyes opened wide. Did he even know what he was asking? If she had heard these words from him a year ago, she would have cried with joy. But, she is married to Stuart, and he is engaged to Joanna, she did not think it was reasonable for him even to suggest such a thing.
Edie’s lips were slightly trembling, "Do you have an idea what you are asking?"
"Of course, but do not flatter yourself. I am not in love with you. I do not trust you. So, this is how you can to prove to that everything that you have told is the truth. I need to know that it is not true that we spent five years together."
Donald managed to hide the pain that he was feeling by changing his tone of voice. Hearing all these ridiculous words, Edie could not help herself from getting mad, "Are you crazy? How can I prove anything to you by doing what you ask?"
"I do not care. Since you have said it, you should take the responsibility. Otherwise, I will never leave you alone. As long as you divorce him, I will return it to you. What? Is that man more important than your mother?"
Edie was a little shaken up by what he asked of her, but her marriage to Stuart was only an agreent. After they both got what they wanted, they would divorce.
If Donald returned the necklace to her after her divorce, she did not have to do anything else. As the idea of divorce ca into her mind, she felt extrely sad. Seeing Edie’s hesitation, Donald was satisfied.
"Money can’t buy you everything. There was still sothing that Stuart could not get."
Edie was struggling, "Should she agree to his offer?" Suddenly they heard a noise coming from outside the building. Edie heard soone say, "Why did Joanna co here today?"
Edie raised her head suddenly and couldn’t believe what she heard, "Did you co here with her?"
What a shaless man. He dared to bring his fiancé to ask his ex-girlfriend to get a divorce, but Donald was also shocked.
"No. I ca here alone. She went to the company."
"But why did she co here? Did she follow you?"
Impossible. He saw her walk into the company this morning. Besides, he did not plan to co here. He decided at the last minute. Maybe they were mistaken? It might not be Joanna.
But then they heard her voice again, and they fell into despair. Her voice sounded soft. It was the voice he was quite familiar with, "I have worked with director Lane before. Today I finally found the ti to co and visit him."
Donald was one hundred percent sure that the woman outside was Joanna. He had not lost his mind completely. He knew that whatever happened in his past, at least Joanna was his fiancée.
Looking anxious, Donald thought that If Joanna saw him with Edie, she would not forgive him.
Seeing the expression on his face, Edie wanted to laugh. How determined he sounded just now. But when he heard Joanna’s voice, he beca nervous imdiately. She despised the man who was standing in front of her.
Edie started to open the door. Donald squeezed her hand tightly and lowered his voice, "What are you doing?"
"You feel guilty, and you should. But this is none of my business. If you want to stay here that is up to you, I don’t care what you do, but I have to leave now."
Edie did not want to stay with Donald for one more second. She tried to get rid of him. Seeing this, Donald squeezed her hands imdiately.
"None of your business? What about those reporters?"
Hearing his words, Edie stopped, and Donald continued, "If we go out, both Joanna and those reporters will see us together, it will be on the front page of the newspaper tomorrow."
Edie got angrier, "You do not have the right to ridicule . If you did not co here, this would not have happened?"
She was injured today, and she needed to rest. Then Donald appeared out of nowhere, saying such ridiculous words to her. Then Joanna shows up here. She was trapped in an awkward situation.
Being so angry, Edie forgot to lower her voice. As her voice echoed out, soone from outside the door asked, "What’s this room used for? Is there anyone in there?"
Then, that man approached, and Edie got very nervous.
