It wasn’t until the middle of the following day that Eddie finally opened her eyes. She wasn’t fully aware of her surroundings, and when she opened her eyes, she could only see the white ceiling. Her first reaction was, "I am dead? Did I go to heaven?"
She was surrounded by white and instantly thought it seed like the paradise described in the Bible. Before Eddie had a chance to speak, soone suddenly rushed over to her, "Oh... Eddie, you finally woke up," Rhoda cried.
Eddie tried to speak but couldn’t. She tried to gather her thoughts and cleared her throat and asked, "Rhoda, why are you here? Did you die, too?" Her words choked Rhoda. Tears started streaming down her cheeks. She blinked her eyes twice as if she didn’t understand what she was saying.
"Don’t be so silly, Eddie, you are not dead!"
Danny’s high pitched voice ca from beside her, and Eddie turned her head to look at him. He was sitting by her side, holding her hand.
"I’m not dead...How can that be? Oh no, did I survive such a violent fire? I..." Eddie opened her mouth and wanted to talk, but her throat was so dry, and it was very difficult for her to speak.
Danny’s hand-stretched to rub her cheek and he said, "You inhaled a lot of smoke last night. So your throat will be sore for a while. Here you should have a drink of water."
No care, only bla. Eddie was very clear that this was the way that Danny cared about others, which was more touching than any other kind of warm comfort. Seeing that Danny and Rhoda were so concerned, Eddie’s eyes started to fill with tears. She took the cup in Danny’s hand and lowered her head to take a drink. This was also to keep her tears hidden.
She was not dead. She was still alive. She was surrounded by her friends, who were genuinely concerned about her. It was a good feeling. For the first ti in a long ti, she felt happy. After drinking so water, Eddie’s throat felt a little better, and the burning sensation slowly disappeared.
She handed the cup back to Danny, and he asked, "Do you want so more?" Eddie shook her head, and it looked like she was thinking about sothing. She asked, "How did I get rescued? Who rescued ?"
Eddie suspected that it was probably a fireman or the police, and maybe they had arrived in ti. She heard the sound of a chainsaw breaking the window so it could have been a fireman who ca in and rescued her. As for the person who she had seen in her mind, Eddie attributed it to her illusion before her death.
She didn’t expect that after this question was asked, Danny and Eddie’s facial expression beca a little weird. Rhoda cautiously said, "Eddie, why didn’t you tell us?" Eddie was stunned,
"Tell you what?"
Danny’s face was so ugly that he put the glass heavily on the table, and it made a loud noise.
"Are you still going to hide this from us? Mrs. Yates!"
Eddie felt the blood rushing to her head. She shook her head as she didn’t think she heard him correctly. Did Danny just call her...Mrs. Yates? Did Danny know that she was married to Stuart? How did he know?
She rembered what happened before she fainted last night. Could it be that it was not an illusion, but how could that be. She tried to remain calm, but at the thought of it not being a dream, her heart suddenly started to beat wildly.
She was just about to speak, and the door of her room suddenly opened. Everyone looked at the direction of the door. The man who pushed the door open was tall and robust in a black suit. Eddie felt a little disappointed, and she looked around the man who had co in first, and then she saw a man standing to the side of the door.
Seeing the person behind the strong man, Eddie covered her mouth in disbelief. The man ca in wearing an iron-gray hand-made custom suit. His body was long and slender. He squatted slightly to get through the door. Then only when he blinked, a little cold light was seen.
This kind of pride. This kind of temperature that refuses others to be thousands of miles away. She didn’t see it on anybody else except on Stuart. When Danny and Rhoda saw Stuart, they were shocked. They threw their casual attitude away that they used to talk to Eddie. They said thoughtfully, "Hello, Sir Yates."
Stuart responded casually, but he did not look at them at all. His gaze was focused on Eddie with his black, cold eyes. The old man behind Stuart had beco accustod to his young master’s style, facing the left side of Danny and Rhoda, he said, "Would you mind stepping outside? I have sothing to say to the two of you."
Rhoda and Danny nodded and went out. Before going out, Danny gave Eddie a concerned look.
Mr. Bates took away the two irrelevant people from the room. Now in the spacious VIP ward, there are only two people, Eddie and Stuart.
"Stuart, is that really you?" The sound of her voice was as light as a whisper. Her voice contained disbelief. In Stuart’s eyes, he could see her pain. He knew that during the ti he disappeared, she was frightened.
He took two steps towards her and stood in front of the hospital bed. He looked at her beautiful face and said, "It is ." The tears were streaming down her cheeks. He disappeared without any notice, and now he has returned without any notice. Her mory of last night was wrong, and it was he who saved her again. It broke his heart to see her crying. He sat on the bed and tightly wrapped his arms around her, "Please, don’t cry, I am back."
No one knew what he was thinking when he saw her hopelessly closing her eyes in the sea of fire. If she hadn’t made the call, he would have lost her. When she called him, he could hear so noise in the background, but she didn’t make a sound.
He knew right at that mont that there was sothing wrong, and he had to get to her fast. The fastest way to get to her was by using his private helicopter. He didn’t even want to think about what would have happened if he didn’t do it all. There were infinite remorse and pain in Stuart’s heart.
He blad himself for not taking good care of her. From now on, he will not allow anything to happen to her again. Eddie slowly withdrew herself from his arms, and forcefully pushed Stuart away, "Don’t touch ." Her voice sounded cold and distant.
Stuart got up off the bed and stood there and looked at Eddie with a frown on his face. He completely understood how angry she must be. After all, he disappeared for a long ti without reason and never told her where he was, "Eddie don’t be angry with ."
Poor Stuart, he never had been in a relationship. He didn’t know how to talk to won. At this mont, he couldn’t even say a sentence. His words only made her angrier. The anger that had been suppressed was emanating at this mont.
"Stuart, enough! You want to appear, so you appear. If you want to disappear, you disappear. If you want to block the news, you block the news! Do you even treat as a person? Do you even respect ?"
