Old Greg listened to their conversation and felt relieved, "Oh, you are going to make such a wonderful couple. I have waited for so many years for you to et soone who can truly make you happy. He is a good man. I can trust him. There is nothing more that I can do for you now, so don’t co back. I want you to run and never look back. Live your life the way it was supposed to be."
As soon as she heard what her grandfather said, the tears raced from the corner of her eyes. In the past, Grandpa had always asked her to co back and see him. Today, he saw how she was treated, and he did not want her to co back.
"Grandpa, don’t worry about , I want to spend more ti with you," Eddie said tearfully. Old Greg waved his big hand in the air, "It’s been decided, and there will be no change. If I miss you, I will co and see you."
Stuart took out a business card and handed it to Eddie’s grandfather. "This is our address if, at any ti you miss Eddie, you can co over," he took the card from Stuart’s hand and had a pleasant look on his face.
Old Greg insisted on seeing them out and wouldn’t give up until they let him. Eddie took his arm and slowly helped him walk down the stairs. Mr. Greg, Mrs. Greg, and Victoria were still sitting in the living room. When Stanley saw them coming, the emotions on his face instantly changed. He had so much anger inside of him, but he could not say anything in the presence of Stuart.
He saw how fond Stuart was of Eddie, and then he thought about how he slapped her on the face. He had so regret; he softened his tone and took the initiative to talk to them, "Eddie, dad..."
"I’m fine, we have to go ho," Eddie did not want to have anything to do with Stanley’s false feelings and interrupted words. Stanley looked embarrassed, and imdiately he fell into silence. He discreetly turned his head to look at Stuart and found that Stuart only stared straight ahead.
Such arrogance and indifference made Stanley slightly feel ashad. With Stuart’s identity, he could not be arrogant in front of Stuart. If he were to say anything to Eddie, Stuart would definitely make trouble for them. So, if he didn’t even glance an eye on his family, he wasn’t going to speak out.
When Stuart ca to their house and started up the stairs, Stanley told Victoria that she should be calm and gentle. Now, Victoria was watching Stuart, and the resentnt in her heart was gradually rising. She forgot what Stanley had told her, she stood up, ran in front of Stuart, and stopped him.
"Stuart, you got it all wrong! The person you should marry is , not this woman. She has been lying to you!"
After hearing this, Eddie, who was holding her Grandpa, could not help but stop. She slightly started to tremble, and she also wanted to know what Stuart’s reaction would be to a woman who was supposed to be his fiancée. Stuart lowered his eyes and saw the hand on his chest. He said in a cold voice, "Let go!"
These two simple words were as cold as ice. Victoria loosened her hand subconsciously and was genuinely shocked by his tone. She was not willing to let her happiness leave.
She made one final effort, "Stuart, the person who has a marriage contract with you is . The person you should marry is also . Look at , divorce her, and marry . I promise you will not regret it."
Stuart finally raised his head, and his dark, mysterious eyes fell on her face, "You think that I should marry you? You are such a kind and caring person, so I should get a divorce and then marry YOU?"
Victoria nodded desperately, "Yes, we are such a good match. She is the illegitimate daughter of my father." Stuart lifted his thin lips and said with sarcasm, "You don’t deserve it? You don’t even deserve to look at my wife."
These words left Victoria speechless, and she was in shock. Stuart did not look at her again and even did not say a word to Stanley or Mrs. Greg. He just turned around and left.
Eddie was standing at the door waiting for him. He stepped forward, took her little hand with his big hand, and walked out of the house. Old Greg watched them leave, and in his eyes, there was a touch of relief.
From the door to the garage, Eddie could not stop thinking about Stuart’s attitude towards Victoria, and her heart was beating uncontrollably. She knew in her heart that Stuart was a good man. Stuart’s was holding her hand tightly, and his cold voice rang through her ears, "You didn’t believe at first, did you?"
Eddie felt sowhat guilty. She really didn’t believe that Stuart would reject Victoria. Especially since Stanley was sitting right there, she did not expect that Stuart did not only refuse Victoria but defended Eddie.
She was shaking and started to stutter, "No, not at first. Then I just wanted to see what you would say." Stuart looked at her with so much love in his eyes, and he reached over and gently tapped her on the forehead, which was a little punishnt.
Then he opened the door of the car, and they started to drive away. As for the car that Eddie drove, Stuart would arrange for soone to co and take it back. Eddie turned around to look at the house that she grew up in one more ti. She saw Old Greg was still standing at the door, staring at them with tears in his eyes.
Although she knew that Old Greg couldn’t see it, Eddie’s still waved her hand to say goodbye.
"I am not sure why, but all of a sudden I am feeling despondent," Stuart understood her mood and comforted her, "Your grandfather wants you to live a happy life and doesn’t want any more harm to co to you. This is his way of showing you how much he loves you."
"I can’t always be with my grandfather. Every ti I would co back, I would rush in to see him because he was always so good to . The others never welcod into the family, but my grandfather treated better than Victoria. He treated like I was his own child and always protected ."
Thinking of how he took care of her over the past ten years, Eddie couldn’t help but cry. She wanted nothing more than to take care of her grandfather and be with him.
"Grandpa’s health is not good, and he can barely stand. He uses a wheelchair, but today he walked with a cane. All he wanted to do was to protect ."
Stuart drove with one hand on the steering wheel, and the other one was holding Eddie’s hand.
"In the future, if you want to go back, I will accompany you. If you don’t want to go back, I will bring your Grandpa to the Royal Villa."
Stuart’s voice was solemn and relentless, "I will help you make up for all of your regrets."
There was a flow of warmth in Eddie’s heart; she just nodded and said, "Okay!"
