You Are Mine (English) Chapter 229: Sudden Encounter

Eddie had finally arrived at the mall. She found it a little strange because she had no desire to look at clothes or jewelry. Instead, Eddie walked into the n’s clothing departnt. When she looked through the clothes and accessories in the n’s section, Eddie thought to herself, "Does this one suit Stuart? Would he like that one?"

Maybe she was gradually starting to get used to being Mrs. Yates? Even the shop assistant confird her thoughts, "You must love your husband very much."

Eddie’s lips held a faint smile, and her eyes twinkled. With a sense of satisfaction, Eddie chose a tie and cuff for Stuart. As she got in the elevator, the door was about to close, and Eddie heard a flustered voice suddenly call in front of her, "Wait..."

Eddie quickly responded and pressed the button. The person promptly walked in and thanked Eddie gratefully, "Thank you..."

When Eddie raised her head, she noticed that it was Hick’s Day. What a coincidence. Hick’s was surprised too, "Eddie, you’re shopping too? What a coincidence that the two of us et again."

Eddie smiled at Hick’s and saw the bag in her hand, "You’re here looking at n’s clothing as well? Is it for your boyfriend?"

Eddie thought that maybe she was too nosy. Hicks felt a little ashad for not telling her about the gift she bought. After a brief hesitation, Hick spoke, "Eddie, would you like to have dinner with tonight?"

The question surprised Eddie, "Why?"

Eddie thought about it, and since Stuart told her in the morning that he had to work overti tonight, he wouldn’t be ho for dinner. So if she were to go back, then Eddie would have to eat alone, so she ca to a conclusion why not have dinner with Hick’s.

She nodded and said, "No worries. I’m free tonight, so yes, let’s have dinner together."

The two of them didn’t want to go far, so they picked a French cuisine in the Tis Mall. Before Eddie had a chance to ask, Hicks ntioned the Dion advertisent first. "You must be surprised, was I. It never occurred to that such a big endorsent would fall onto my lap. You rember when we lined up? Despite Anne John, there were many celebrities with a higher position in showbiz than her."

"Then it goes to show that you must have a great talent! Regardless of your past, after you finish filming the advertisent, you will take a big leap in the entertainnt world. Eddie didn’t overthink her response and drove her car over from the parking lot and picked Hick’s up, "Where are you going?"

Hick’s bit her lip nervously and then said in a low voice, "I’m going to the Hallucin Bar."

"Bar?"

Eddie was a little confused, "Are you going to drink? Are you going alone or are you eting your friend? Is it safe there?"

Eddie’s solicitude for Hick’s well being did not make Hick’s feel any better. She smiled rigidly at Eddie, "It’s fine; just take there."

After all, Eddie and Hick’s were not close friends. Eddie thought she shouldn’t concern herself with Hick’s affairs. So she didn’t say anything anymore. Eddie started the car and drove towards the Hallucin bar.

They quickly arrived at the bar, and while looking at the neon lights, Eddie said, "Hicks, we’re here."

Unexpectedly, Hicks didn’t seem like she wanted to get out of the car. Hick’s lowered her head so Eddie couldn’t see her eyes. Eddie couldn’t see the expression on her face. She was in a dilemma and bit down on her lower lip. Eddie knew that there was sothing wrong, "Hicks, is there sothing wrong?"

Hicks raised her head and smiled, but her face was pale, "Yes... I got myself into so trouble..."

"How could soone as timid as Hick’s get into trouble?" Eddie thought.

"What happened? Tell , maybe I can help you."

Hicks hesitated, her eyes suddenly filled with tears. It was apparent that Hick’s was struggling with the dilemma. Eddie could tell by the expression on Hick’s face that she couldn’t make up her mind if she should tell Eddie or not.

After taking a deep breath, she finally spoke, "I am only an infamous actress in the company. My agent doesn’t like very much. Then after the company inford yesterday that I had been chosen as the endorsent of Dion, my agent introduced to an investor. He told that I should take advantage of the public’s attention and broaden my network."

The agent should solely manage things such as investing. So making the actress et the investor is definitely not a good thing. Giving Hick’s a look of disapproval, Eddie said, "So, you’re here to et with the investor?"

Hick’s hands were shaking, and she nodded, "I still have an outstanding contract with my agent. I have to do what he asks of , but I’m terrified. If I go see the investor by myself, I may not even have a chance to resist."

Hick’s eyes were bloodshot, and her face was swollen from crying. Eddie knew Hick’s was telling the truth. Hick’s was so timid and shy that she could quickly be taken advantage of. If she t the investor by herself, Hick’s would be in danger.

Eddie couldn’t think of any other solution, but since the incident was related to Hick’s career, she asked, "What can I do to help?"

Hick’s clenched her teeth and struggled to stay calm. Eddie looked at her and could see her mustering up the courage, and Hick’s finally spoke, "Eddie, can you co with ?"
