Stuart looked at her calmly, noticing that Stuart was not interested in what she had to say. Anna tried not to get annoyed, smiling. She said, "I had a talk with my daddy. He feels that I lack work experience and thinks that I need to learn more, but if I work at my family’s company, everyone will protect . So he hopes I can stay at the L.N. Group’s national headquarters to learn more."
Hearing this supposedly "good news," Stuart did not have a happy expression on his face, but instead frowned slightly, "You are going to work at the L.N. Group?"
As she expected, Stuart was not happy to have her work here. Anna’s heart was a little saddened, but then she felt relieved as she had already prepared for it.
"Yes, my daddy has already talked to Mada, and she has agreed. She will probably call you today to tell you the good news."
In case Stuart didn’t agree with her working for the L.N. Group, she had spent a lot of effort to persuade her father and Mada. She had purposely ignored Stuart. Anna knew it would make Stuart unhappy, but at the mont, she really didn’t care.
Sure enough, Stuart heard that she got the permission of his mother, his face turned red with anger. But he didn’t burst out and just coldly said, "Okay, as you like."
It didn’t matter how Stuart felt. Even if he didn’t care about Anna right now as long as she could work at the L.N. Group, there would be lots of opportunities for her to be alone with him. In doing this, Anna would have even more ti to spend with Stuart than Eddie. She didn’t believe that Stuart could be cold to her forever!
"Since you want to work here, that ans you will be part of my staff. That also ans that you take orders from and only an in the future. Are we understood?"
She could stay, but she had to obey the rules. Anna nodded, "Of course, that will not be a problem."
Ivan suddenly knocked on the door and walked in. He bent down to whisper in Stuart’s ear, "Hicks is here, and she wants to see you."
Stuart looked a little impatient, "What is she doing here?"
Anna imdiately interrupted, "Who is it? Did you say Hicks was here?"
Stuart glanced at Anna and rembered that she was a good friend of Hicks’ for many years. He had an idea.
"Let her co in," Stuart ordered Ivan. Then Stuart said to Anna, "Hicks is coming. You can also et with her and see what her reaction will be."
Anna had a happy look on her face, "Really? That’s great. I haven’t seen Marina for such a long ti."
Anna knew it was Hicks, but she deliberately called her Marina. She was apparently suggesting that Hicks Day was Marina Daisy. Stuart’s eyes beca cold, but he did not respond.
Hicks ca up quickly. She went to the headquarters of Dion to see Stuart at first. Upon her arrival, she realized that Stuart was not a staff mber of Dion, but one of their main stockholders.
Initially, she thought that Stuart was the executive of Dion. She did not expect his true status to be far higher than she could have imagined. Hicks wanted to see Stuart and had to try.
As nervous as she was, she followed through and ca to the L.N. Group. Feeling uneasy, Hicks went to the top-floor presidential reception room. She knocked on the door of the reception room, then pushed the door and went in. Hicks looked at the two people on the sofa nervously.
"Mr. CEO Yates, nice to et you."
Hicks wanted to call Stuart, Mr. Yates, but she suddenly felt that it was sowhat unruly and quickly changed her mind. She couldn’t stop staring at Anna when Hicks looked at her, and there was admiration in her eyes. She wondered, "Who is this glamorous woman? What is her relationship with Stuart?"
Anna still didn’t know if Hicks was Marina or not yet and thought, "Here is another one of his won. How many won did Stuart have?"
Hicks felt a little bitter towards Anna after all she wanted Stuart to herself. So she looked at Anna and asked, "Miss... what should I call you?"
Anna wasn’t really paying attention to Hicks when she asked her the question. Stuart found it a little strange because they were supposed to be best friends. Anna sat there on the sofa, lost in thought, "It had been years ago since the last ti Marina had seen each other. Our appearances have changed a lot. How would I know what she looks like now? Although, Hicks really does look like Marina, both in appearance and temperant. If there was no accident, then this is Marina?"
"After ten years, we probably wouldn’t have a perfect relationship if Hicks were alive. Then there was Stuart, who was between Marina and ."
All Anna knew is she ca here to get Stuart to fall in love with her, so whatever she had to do, Anna was going to do it. She had to pretend that she liked Marina because Anna didn’t want Stuart to think that she was a cold-hearted person. Anna had to follow through with her plans.
She stood up from the sofa and looked at Anna. She pretended to be surprised and stepped back and said, "Marina..."
Anna did this intentionally as she wanted Stuart to believe that Hicks was really Marina. If he thinks this is true, then Anna can use this as a wedge between Stuart and Eddie. Nothing would make Anna happier than getting her revenge on Eddie.
When Hicks heard Anna call her Marina, she was a little confused, "What did you call ? You must have mixed up with soone else? My na is Hicks Day."
Anna had hoped that when Hicks heard this na, it would bring so mory from her past back. Anna’s heart was filled with sorrow and despair, her eyes were filled with tears, and she gently wiped them away, "Oh, I forgot. I am sorry. Yes, that’s right. You are Hicks Day now."
Anna raised her head and smiled, "I am Anna Joyce."
Anna looked up at Hicks in hopes that she would rember sothing, but Hicks’ reaction was only of confusion. Stuart was watching them intensely, and it was making him feel a little comfortable. Finally, he interrupted, "What brings you here today, Miss Day?"
As soon as Hicks heard Stuart’s voice, she was speechless and started trembling in delight. She kept her head down as she didn’t want him to see the expression on her face. Stuart was getting a little impatient and tapped his fingers on the table and asked her again, "Miss Day, I asked you a question?"
"Mr. ... CEO Yates, I wanted to ask you for your help." Hicks was really nervous and managed to gather up the courage to speak.
"Go on," Stuart’s voice seed to be a little shaky. Originally Hicks wanted to pretend she was in distress. But since there was another woman in the room, Hicks knew it was useless.
"I... I am very grateful that you saved from Tyron last night. But now my agent is very upset with and says that he is going to put an end to my career."
Hicks was sincere. As she was speaking to Stuart, the tears were rolling down her cheeks, "CEO Yates, I know what I am asking is very unreasonable, but can you please help ...? For you, it’s just a minor matter, but it’s important to ..."
Hicks was not wealthy and had no resources, and she didn’t know who else to ask. Since Stuart had already helped Hicks twice, she ca to the headquarters of the L.N. Group to find him.
If Stuart refused her, Hicks didn’t know what she would do.
