Edie stood outside the coffee shop, waiting for the driver. Suddenly her phone rang. She took her phone out of her purse and looked at the screen, ’It’s Stuart! Why is he calling ?’ she wondered. She quickly answered.
"I’m by the entrance of the garage. Would you co down and et ?" Stuart asked.
Edie was surprised and a little shocked. ’Stuart rarely picks up! Where is the driver?’ Edie walked to the gate and opened the door. "Is there sothing wrong with the driver? I don’t understand why you’re picking up?"
"No, he’s fine! I finished work early and thought it would be nice if I picked up." Stuart paused a mont as he looked at Edie. He then added with a slight frown. "What’s wrong? You look unhappy!"
"There’s nothing wrong! I’m very happy to see you!" Edie replied. After seeing the video, the one person she wanted to see most was Stuart. She hadn’t completely decided if she was going to tell him. She tried hard to keep her emotions intact.
Stuart glanced at Edie and looked her over. "You don’t look...." he paused. "Are you tired?" he asked.
Edie never replied. She nodded her head. Seeing her so quiet, Stuart reached over and felt her forehead. "Your temperature feels normal," he said, feeling relieved.
The faint sll in the car was completely masculine. Inhaling the sll of his musky aftershave, intoxicated her. She inhaled again. Out and then in, deep labored breaths, ’My God, he slls so good.’
Edie hugged Stuart gently, and she turned her head and buried her face against his shoulders. "I’m fine! I just missed you," she explained.
Stuart’s heart softened. His hands gentled on her side. He pulled her close, then raised one hand to cup the back of her head. Had any woman ever felt as soft or as the right to him as she did. "I see," he said in his usual cold voice.
Edie pushes herself back and looks at him. If it had been any other man, he would have said " too", but instead, she gets an "I see." She stares at him, waiting for him to respond. "Stuart, you talk to as if I’m one of your employees. I get what I see. What about you? Didn’t you miss too?"
Stuart quickly responded, "I wasn’t thinking. I’ve been busy working all day."
Edie’s expression changed instantly. From being happy to unhappy. She was terrified all day, and he couldn’t sense that there was anything wrong with her. Just as Edie was about to scold Stuart, he took her in his arms and held her tight.
"I’m not being honest with you. I left work early because I couldn’t wait to see you," he said. Stuart brushed the hair from her eyes, his fingers lingering on her cheek. "Every morning, when I leave for work, you’re always on my mind. I’m always thinking about you. Do you think about too?" he asked.
Edie’s heart thumped heavily. She never expected Stuart to be so romantic. For him to talk about his feelings in such a serious manner was sothing, she never heard him say before. She was tempted again, but instead of acting on her feelings, she pushed him away. "You’re the one who’s sick. We need to get you to a doctor!" she teased.
Then Stuart narrowed his eyes and studied her a little closer. "I’m sick! I think we should take you ho, and I will decide what punishnt you get!" He reached one hand and put it on her cheek and slipped the other around her waist.
Edie starts laughing, "Stop! You’re cheating. We both agreed, no tickling."
There was a knock on the window, and Edie jolted back and froze. Standing in front of the window was a policeman. She quickly rolls down the window. "What are you doing here? Are you having sex in your car?" he asked.
"No!" she said quickly.
"Then why is your car rocking back and forth? Did you know this is a temporary parking space? You have been here for quite so ti now. I think you should leave?" he said.
’Sex! In the car!’ Edie couldn’t believe what the police officer was thinking. Her face turned red and she apologized. "I’m sorry! We’re leaving right now!"
The police officer was shaking his head as he walked away from the car. "No, they’re not having sex. I thought we were in for a good show," the voice was faint, but Edie still hears what he was saying to the other officer in the car. The redness spread rapidly in all directions over her head and down her neck. She sat up quickly and said, "We need to leave! Now! I can’t believe what he thought we were doing."
Stuart saw how embarrassed Edie was and imdiately drove away. When they arrived at the Villa, they heard soone bickering. "No, it’s sugar! Not salt! Jason, I know you’re human, but how is it possible that you have a pig brain?"
"I was only trying to help! How can you be such a cold-hearted woman?" Jason replied.
"I don’t need your help. You’re too clumsy. You can help by leaving the kitchen," Scarlet said.
"No one has ever said anything like that to before. How dare you say I’m clumsy." Jason was getting angrier and angrier with every word.
"They’re probably afraid of telling you the truth because they don’t want to hurt your feelings," Scarlet said with sarcasm in her voice.
"Scarlet Yvette! Bite your tongue. I could do you right here, right now!" Jason said.
"Get your mind out of the gutter. We’re at Stuart’s and Edie’s house, or did you forget where we were? Besides, you keep that up, and the next ti you get drunk, I’ll castrate you!" Scarlet jokes.
"You wouldn’t dare! Co over here and try," Jason said, trying to provoke her.
Edie and Stuart couldn’t believe what they overheard. Edie was shocked. They were about to walk into the kitchen, and Todd walked down the stairs. "Good afternoon, Edie and Stuart," he said with a smirk on his face.
The second Edie looked at Todd, she thought of Queenie and what she had told her. Stuart raised his head and frowned. "What brings you here?" he asked.
"Scarlet told us that Edie would be leaving for her new film soon. So, she thought it would be a good idea if we stopped by and made you dinner," he replied.
Jason cos stomping out of the kitchen. He yells, "This is not your ho. You need to treat with so respect. Just wait until I get ho, and I’ll punish you then.." Jason walks into the living room, turns around, and sees everyone standing, looking at him. His face is beet red.
"Hello, Jason. It seems you have been rather busy," said Stuart.
Jason nodded. "Good afternoon. Yes....we decided," he stuttered as he was trying to explain.
