Edie seed to beco more confused. "The first ti I t Aaron, he used a fake identity, and he also told to take care of Stuart for him. There are so many things I don’t understand." She had a complicated expression on her face. She never could understand Aaron’s intentions.
Mr. Wilson tried to explain. "Aaron was chosen by the family to keep an eye on Stuart. He didn’t want to do it, but again he had no choice. Rose wanted everyone to believe that Stuart was gay and that your marriage to him was a fake. Aaron was caught in the middle. He went along with the lie, so you wouldn’t be tempted to have a relationship with him. But he was also worried that if you developed feelings for him, then you’d get hurt. Deep down, he wanted you and Stuart to fall in love. None of it mattered. Whatever information he found about Stuart, Aaron was going to report back to the family and tell them, Stuart was the rightful heir."
Edie was trembling all over. "Right from the start Aaron....wanted to fall in love....with Stuart because he didn’t want the family questioning Stuart’s.....sexual orientation? And he did all of this to help Stuart, but Stuart has no idea," she said, her voice quivering over the words. "Soone needs to tell Stuart, he should know about all of this." She glanced at Mr. Wilson, biting her lower lip nervously. "Aaron can be a loving gentleman, but he also has a darker side. On the outside, he looks vicious and evil, but below the surface, I know there is softness." She was silent for a mont. "I rember one of Stuart’s friends saying that Stuart and Aaron were alike in a lot of ways. I never really understood until now."
There was an unpleasant look on Mr. Wilson’s face after listening to Edie. He took a step forward. "Aaron never wanted what Stuart had, but his mother forced him to do all the things he’s done. When he turned eighteen and lost the family test, his mother tortured him by taking away the use of his hand. She told him the next ti it happened, and the punishnt would be worse. He was never given a choice." He spoke with such solemnity, such dignity and such sincerity that Edie could hardly hold the tears back.
Edie swallowed the tears back. "How could a mother do this to her own child? How could she be so cruel? And only because he didn’t pass a test," she said, her voice rising slightly. "He loved painting, and she took it all away from him. He never had a chance to be happy or find happiness. No wonder he acts as though he doesn’t care about anyone or anything."
"There were so many tis when I wanted to help the Master, but I was only a servant. His mother would’ve either punished or fired . Maybe even both. All I could do was stand by his side and help him any way I could." When Mr. Wilson spoke, there was so much pain in his voice.
"I rember when Aaron took to the bay, he told he was forced to do it. I told him I didn’t believe him, and he laughed at for having so much trust in others. But in the end, he was telling the truth. The pain and tornt he must be going through having all these feelings buried so deep inside of him," Edie said, her voice ragged. Anguish tarnished her beautiful eyes.
Seeing the expression on her face and listening to the tone in her voice, Mr. Wilson’s heart twisted painfully. "There are very few people who know how Aaron was treated as a child. Now that you know, can you please help him?" Mr. Wilson pleaded.
"Was Stuart aware of what Aaron’s mother did to him?" Edie asked.
"No, I don’t think so. Mada Rose hated Mada Yates. She threatened Aaron, telling him not to tell anyone," Wilson said.
Edie’s expression beca serious. "I know it’s hard, but try not to worry. I’ll do everything I can," she said, trying to reassure him.
Mr. Wilson expressed his appreciation by saying, "I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. It ans a lot to ."
Edie looked away, lowering her chin and biting her bottom lip. "Would you....." she hesitated. "I want to know what really happened to Marina. Stuart needs to know the truth."
The smile on Wilson’s face imdiately disappeared. He shook his head and said, "No, I can’t!" He raised his voice slightly. "You need to forget what I said. In the end, it will only bring more tornt into your life. It could jeopardize your relationship with Stuart."
Edie’s heart started racing. She narrowed her eyes curiously at Mr. Wilson. "What are you talking about? What could possibly jeopardize my relationship with Stuart?"
Mr. Wilson shook his head again as he walked away. "I’m sorry, but I can’t tell you. Please excuse . There’s sothing I need to do. If there’s anything you need, just ask one of the other servants."
Edie stood there watching him leave with a blank expression on her face. "Why won’t he tell ? I need to find out the truth," she mumbled to herself. Then she thought about what he said. "It almost sounded like he was giving a warning. How could Marina’s death have anything to do with our relationship?" Suddenly she was overwheld by a feeling of fear. "What if the truth cos out, and it’s sothing..." Edie didn’t know what to do. She was now terrified of finding out what really happened to Marina.

Aaron was lying on the bed that Mr. Wilson arranged to be put in his room, and Stuart was sitting on the sofa, glaring at him. Aaron just ignored him completely and acted as though he weren’t even in the room. Stuart kept his eyes on him, and Aaron could feel his eyes burning into him. The atmosphere in the room was very intense. Neither one of them said a word. Stuart seed fidgety as though he were waiting for sothing to happen. Then suddenly his phone rang.
"Is it done?" Stuart asked. "Send the picture," he said coldly. Once the picture was sent, Stuart threw his phone on the bed and said, "Have a look, and then we’ll talk."
