Edie didn’t call back. She put the phone down and went to the kitchen to take an apple.
Then she started reading the email.
She was too busy these days to clean the computer.
Scarlet sent lots of e-mail to her, sharing her trips.
Scarlet was transferred from the social column to the travel column. The trip was also arranged by the company. All she needed to do was to take several pictures and write several essays about the trip. Edie knew that Scarlet had tried to avoid Stuart’s friend. She suddenly felt sad for her best friend. Knowing how good a human her friend is, Edie felt pity for her, but she can’t do anything to help her this ti, as she is also dealing with her own struggle.
Edie finally knew why Scarlet suddenly went on the trip. It was not her own money.
Scarlet was in Bali, the best choice for a honeymoon. Every spot has its own legend.
Edie could feel her happiness from her email.
Edie felt happy for her.
At the mont, Mr. Bates knocked on the door, "Mrs. Yates, Mr. Yates would have dinner outside. What do you want to have tonight?"
Stuart used to prepare dinner for Edie, every day, before.
But now, he stayed outside, with another woman.
She opened the door and walked out, "Have Stuart cooked for Hicks?"
"Never," Mr. Bates smiled.
Edie’s eyes lightened up, "Why? Haven’t she asked him?"
"Miss Day did ask, but Mr. Yates is too busy. Besides, after losing a part of mory, he also forgets how to cook. Maybe he lost his interest with so other things he did for you last ti," Mr. Bates said, and his voice was filled with sadness while looking at Edie.
Edie froze imdiately. Donald also forgot how to cook after losing part of mory. She thought that what happened to Donald also occurred to Stuart.
What if she made Stuart cook? He could cook well. Could that prove to him how deep he loved her and persuade him to change his decision?
She turned excited, "Do you know when he would co back?"
"Sorry, Mrs. Yates, I don’t know when Master will co back."
"All right. Just make several dishes. No raw or cold food because it is bad for his health."
"Okay." Mr. Bates answered, wearing a confused look.
"Does Mrs. Yates change her appetite? Lately, she didn’t eat a lot," He thought in silence.
Minutes went by. It’s been 7 o’clock when Edie finished her super. Then she turned into a couch potato on the sofa, waiting for Stuart.
When all servants left, the house fell into silence.
Edie stared at the clock on the wall seriously.
The light of the lamp in the living room spread on her pale face. Her face looked really weak. So much sadness consud her energy recently and affected her appetite.
Mr. Bates couldn’t stand anymore, "Mrs. Yates, ti to sleep."
Edie also felt her eyes were a little painful.
"Mr. Bates, I want to stay here. You can go now."
"Mrs. Yates, if Mr. Yates could restore mory, this would make his heart ache." Mr. Bates said. He felt pity for her, but he knows that Edie waits for Stuart’s arrival.
These words, like a pin pinching into her heart. She smiled bitterly, "but he might forget forever. I don’t know when he can recover his mory. I miss him so much. He was around, yet I feel he was far away from . Mr. Bates, don’t worry. I am fine. You can go now. I know you couldn’t stay up."
Mr. Bates felt sad again, hearing Edie’s words, but he can’t do anything to help her. Since Edie forced him to leave, he granted her request. He went to bed imdiately.
Mr. Bates couldn’t persuade Edie. He called Ivan to ask when Stuart would co back.
But Ivan didn’t know, either.
At ten o’clock, Edie heard the sound of a step. She thought it was Stuart. She stood up imdiately and walked directly towards the door.
"Hi, darling."
When she opened the door, she saw Hicks instead of Stuart.
The smile on Edie’s face froze, "Oh, hi."
Hicks raised the key in her hands, "Stuart was still working. He didn’t want to stay up. So I ca back earlier. See, this is the key he gave ."
"Well."
Edie looked indifferent in front of her provocation.
But, Edie was pissed off.
But she wouldn’t show her depression in front of Hicks.
Edie walked to her sofa and kept being a potato couch.
Hick felt a little disappointed. Now she hated Edie more.
"I really admire your acting skill. Would you mind telling how many n you’ve slept with?"
"Thank you for your encouragent. As for acting skill and n, I believe you must be much better than ."
Edie fought back without any hesitation.
Hicks didn’t get angry. Instead, she sat in front of Edie and crossed her legs,
"Edie, I know you are good at this. I couldn’t win. But it’s the reality that Stuart didn’t love you. You don’t have to waste ti here."
"Mind your own business," Edie gave Hicks an angry stare.
Hicks smiled, "Did you try to restore his mory this afternoon? He already told all. See how honest he was to . The doctor already told . Inside, his brain was a huge blood block. It suppressed her nerves. It is unlikely that he could restore the mory. Otherwise, do you think I could still have you here? Don’t dream of it."
"Oh, so what?" Edie asked in reply calmly. In front of Hicks’ sharp put-down, Edie didn’t show any sorrow, as if she cared about nothing.
Hicks finally ran out of patience.
She frowned and stood up, looking at Edie, "save you so respect. Leave now. I can still give you so benefits. If I am really pissed off, you can get nothing."
"Hick, please. Should I remind you that you are the mistress in this family? Do you still want your career? I might say sothing in front of the dia. Do you believe it?"
"Could you, in front of Stuart?" Hicks giggled.
