"If you are his wife, I won’t do anything. I would love to accept you. But you are not. Edie is his wife. You couldn’t do this. You are destroying his family. Have you realized this?"
Hicks almost laughed out.
Bette had no right to judge others. She also cheated on her husband—the sha of this woman.
But she couldn’t say it out. Stuart would get angry if she says it out.
But it was a fact. She was the woman that ruined the Lynch’s.
But since Bette already did this to her, Hicks didn’t mind making it worse.
No matter how she begged her, Bette won’t help her anymore.
"Interesting. Are you destroying the family? You are better than at such a thing. Stuart might learn from you. You just want to hide those dirty things."
Hicks didn’t hide her ironic smile. She directly exposed Bette’s scar.
Bette was pissed off.
She squinted and looked at Hicks, "You are right. That’s what I want to do. Therefore, I would never allow it in the Yates. If you dare to keep dating my son, I would tell your affair to those reporters. You are nothing more than one of my son’s mistress. The whole board of directors would prevent you from marrying Stuart."
"Madam, don’t be ridiculous. I am the girl that Stuart loves deeply."
"Oh, really? But whatever what, you would never be allowed in the Yates unless I die."
Bette said word by word, in an extrely cold voice.
Hearing this, Hicks’s face turned pale, "Are you really going to hurt your son, just for Edie. If you expose our affair, Stuart’s reputation would be ruined."
Bette remained calm.
"He would handle that. I tell you these because Stuart likes you now. But if you keep doing this, I would make you regret it."
Then Bette turned around and left, without leaving a word.
After a while, Bette held Edie’s hands and walked downstairs. They got into the car and left.
Hicks could do nothing but stand at the corner, seeing Bette taking Edie to her car. They looked like mother and daughter. Why?
Why did Edie steal everything she had?
Why did everyone keep blaming her?
Hicks’s eyes were full of hatred.
At the mont, her phone rang. She thought it was Stuart,
"Stuart....I...."
A man interrupted her with a sexy voice, "it is ."
Hicks imdiately recognized the voice, "what’s your present?"
"You’ll see. Tomorrow, I would kill them, Edie and Aaron. Which one do you want to torture?"
Which one?
This was quite difficult for Hicks.
Aaron was the man that raped her. Edie was the girl that stole the man she loved. Hicks hated both of them. She wished they could die imdiately.
"Both."
She said crazily.
The man laughed out on the other side. It seed he wanted to tell her she was too greedy.
"You haven’t gotten what I want. Don’t be too greedy. It’s not a good habit."
Hicks cald down instantly, "Edie doesn’t agree with the divorce. I couldn’t marry Stuart now. Besides, that old woman’s already lived in the house. It makes it much harder for to do anything. I have no one to help . What can I do? I have no idea how to get that now."
"I have soone to help you tomorrow."
"Who is it?" Hicks was curious.
"She could help you make Edie divorce Stuart," the man said slowly as if he had controlled everything. All the people in A was in his plan. No one was able to escape away.
Though he didn’t tell Hicks who it was, Hicks felt relieved.
Because she knew the man. He would keep his words,
She hangs up the phone. Unexpectedly, a man asked her with a cold voice, "who is it?"
Hicks was shocked. She put the phone into the packet and turn around, making a sunny smile in front of Stuart.
"A friend."
Then, she walked to him. As she wanted to hold his arms, she recalled Bette’s warning.
She gave up.
She needed to control herself for a while.
Tomorrow.
At the mont Edie divorce Stuart, she could date with Stuart whenever she wanted.
She put her hands down and changed the topic, "Darling, I saw the vice president just now. She...she didn’t like . She warns to stay away from you. Why? Why does she hate ?"
She pretended to be a poor girl. She wanted Stuart to say sothing to comfort her.
"It doesn’t matter. No one could change our love. Hungry? Let’s have dinner." Stuart squinted. He chided his feeling deep in his eyes.
He knew Hicks’ aim. He’s also checked her call log. It was an anonymous call. He couldn’t get the number nor the I.P. There must be soone behind controlling all these.
The man must be very clever. He’s been planning this for a long ti, before Stuart’s dad was still alive. It was this man that coveted the L.N. group and killed Stuart’s father. But he failed to get the group. Now he needed to kill Stuart. Stuart didn’t know all this until he recovered in the hospital several months ago. Stuart needed to solve this.
The enemy behind, apparently, was much stronger than Stuart.
He’s preparing for a long ti.
And he’s hiding for a long ti. Stuart must find him. The only way to find him is to approach Hicks Day.
Therefore, he wouldn’t let her go. He couldn’t miss this chance.
He should be extrely careful, every mont.
He walked together with her, but he didn’t touch her.
Hicks didn’t want to leave Stuart. But reminding Bette’s threat, she finally gave up.
She said goodbye to Stuart and went to her new house.
When Stuart was off work and wanted to walk out of the office, a group of black-coat bodyguards blocked him.
Mr. Bates stood in front of them.
"Mr. Stuart, Madam Bette wants you to co back ho tonight."
Looking at those guards holding a wooden rod standing in front of him, Stuart frowned angrily, "What the hell are you doing here?"
