At dinner, Edie hesitated for a while and finally made the decision. She called the hospital. The doctor told her the patient already woke up. He might already return back ho.
She took relief and then dialed Arther’s number.
She wanted to call Norman. But he has undergone training with the troops. She could not contact him. She wanted to know whether Arther could.
Arther couldn’t contact Norman, either. Norman would co back until the training finished after one month.
She hung up the phone and walked to Laty’s room. The little girl had fallen into a deep sleep. She was holding a big terry one ter in height.
It was the gift Edie gave her for celebrating the first day she went to school.
Edie looked at her daughter in silence for quite a while, and then she left.
But at the mont Edie left, the little girl opened her eyes imdiately. She took the mobile phone out and sent a text to Stuart.
"Edie told you’d gotten gastralgia? Such a poor man. Why are you so weak? This is the disease for those people who don’t have enough food. You’ve already an adult. You are more than thirty years old. Why are you still so weak?"
The text was replied in seconds.
"Who should I bla? Who gave those ice cream, ice sticks, and coca-cola?"
Well...
Laty curled her lips and continued typing.
"Edie would take to Sophie’s house at dinner. Do you want to co? If you want to co, don’t co here. Go to Sophie’s house directly. Edie wouldn’t get you out of her ho. We would arrive at her house at about nine o’clock and a half. You should arrive in advance."
"Copy that."
Stuart replied with two words. Quite indifferent.
Then, Laty got nothing more.
Laty stared at the mobile phone for more than ten minutes. Stuart didn’t send her one word.
He was so different from her imagination.
After hesitating for a while, she sent him a text.
"I need to sleep now."
Stuart replied to her imdiately.
"Okay, , too."

Was he stupid now? He didn’t even know he needed to say goodnight to her.
Laty could no longer control her bad temper. After ten minutes, she dialed his number. The man said in a cold voice on the other side,
"Are you sleeping now?"

"..."Stuart was confronted with a difficult problem. After thinking for a while, he answered, "yes."
This answer made Laty cheer up. She has already started celebrating with lots of fireworks insides.
She still had hope.
As she was celebrating joyfully, the man on the other side said at a slow speed, "keep quiet when you get up to use the toilet. Don’t wake up your mother."

Hearing this answer, Laty almost broke down. She was driven crazy.
"Don’t you need to say goodnight to ? Would that kill you?"
"Oh, so you an this. I am sorry. I only said this word to your mother. I almost forget to say this to you. All right then, since you are my daughter, good night."
He sounded really reluctant. He even said since you are my daughter.
Holy crap.
Laty wanted to burst into tears.
Was she really adopted from the trash? She herself hasn’t dissed this man. This man already hurt her feeling several tis.
She hangs up the phone in despair. At the mont before she hung up the phone, that man was still telling her not to make noise at night. If she woke her mother up, he would definitely beat her up. He could see them from the monitors all the ti.
She wondered whether he was really her dad now. Why could he be so brutal to her?
The next morning, Edie got up quite early. Then she started preparing biscuits for Sophie. Laty sat at the table, enjoying her breakfast, "Mom, don’t you want to call that man? Sophie’s mother invited three of us. Rember?"

Hearing these words, Edie got lost for a mont. But she cald herself down imdiately.

Laty stood up and walked to the kitchen to wash her dish and bowl. Good girl.
Edie packed up everything and walked out of their house with Laty. She also bought so presents for Sophie and her parents.
They arrived at Sophie’s house at about nine o’clock and a half.
At the mont the door was opened, Sophie’s mother saw those things in Edie’s hands. She laughed, "Oh, you are really a couple. You don’t need to take this. I just want to thank you. You really don’t need to do this."
Couple?
Edie got confused. Before she realized sothing, Sophie’s mother dragged her into the living room. Then, Edie saw a tall, slender man.
She froze.
Why was he here?
"He...." Edie pointed at Stuart in shock.
"I t Sophie’s mother on my way from my company, so I take her here. I rember they invited us today, right?"
He walked to Edie and changed her shoes. Then he took her purse.
He did all these so proficiently, though they’ve been separating for five years.
Seeing this, Sophie’s mother couldn’t help herself feeling jealous. She turned towards Sophie’s father standing behind.
"Yeah. I t him in the supermarket. I really appreciate it. Please, help yourself. Sit down, please, eat so fruit. Please co in."
After changing shoes, Edie was still freezing.
She didn’t rember she told Stuart that she would co here for lunch. Why did she know and co here in advance of them?
Why...?
All of a sudden, she realized sothing. She lowered her head, looking at Laty.
Laty was focusing on changing her shoes. She lowered her head, focusing on changing shoes as if there was lots of money on the floor. After changing her shoes, she lowered her head and left imdiately,
Edie was really angry. But it was Sophie’s house. She couldn’t say or do anything annoying. So she had no choice but to control her anger.
"Stuart, are you all right? You were diagnosed with gastralgia several days ago. You should have stayed at the hospital for several more days." Edie clenched her teeth to suggest he leave right now.
"I am fine. Don’t worry about ."
"Gastralgia? Too bad. We can eat so lighter food today. Watch TV on the sofa. I need to prepare for the kitchen. Dad, could you play ma-jong? Play with them."
Sophie’s mother said with enthusiasm.
"But my husband didn’t know how to play. He never played that before..."
Edie wanted to refuse.
"Don’t worry. I am good at learning." Stuart held her waist and said in a gentle voice.
A slight smile remained on his charming face.
He was such a tall man that Edie looked so delicate and small in front of him. Seeing this scene, Sophie’s mother was moved by such romance. They were such an adorable couple.
"You looked so adorable. Look at you. I bet Laty would also be a tall girl, unlike our fat girl. We’ve started worrying about her height.
