At the mont, inside the study in the flat...
Stuart held the mobile phone tightly. His eyes were so cold.
Aaron, on the other side, also realized the seriousness. He paused the eting imdiately.
"Is it Edie? What happened to her?"
"I need to use the satellite positioning of the group. Please help locate Edie’s position right now, as well as the car. Check the monitor for . Keep in touch."
Then, Stuart rushed out.
Aaron said behind him, "Stuart, it is so dangerous. You could not go alone. I would send so n there right now.
"I have no ti. I will never forgive if anything bad happens to her. I could wait here watching her dying. This is much scarier than death.."
Then, Stuart rushed out of the door. He drove out of the flat imdiately. After ten minutes, Aaron called him.
He told Stuart the location of the car. Now it has been tracked. He would check the driver, and he wanted Stuart to take care of himself.
"I know," Stuart gave him a simple answer. Then he hung up the phone.
When Edie opened her eyes, it was midnight. The window hadn’t been closed. As the close wind blew in, Edie felt so cold.
She looked around, seeing a girl standing in front of the window.
That girl turned her back to Edie. She looked so thin and small. She grabbed the edge of the window with her slim arms. She might be closing the windows.
She was so skinny that the clothes on her looked so fat, forming quite a strange contract.
After she closes the window, it gets warr inside the room.
"Who are you? Where I am now..."
Edie struggled to get up. She felt so thirsty. It was so hard to ask the question.
The woman turned towards her slowly. Edie saw a face covered with scars.
It was that woman. The disfigured woman.
Why was she here?
Edie got sober imdiately. She wore a cold frown. Everything that happened before ca into her mind. She realized this woman always appeared in her sight suddenly.
After the photographing exhibition, Edie got a note in her pocket.
Was it she that kidnapped her?
But why did she kidnap her?
As Edie wondered, the woman walked to her slowly. It seed that every step she walked was so hard for her.
And she kept coughing painfully.
Her face, with those brown scars, looked so frightening and scary.
Edie hesitated for a while. Then she stood up and held her to sit down.
Edie didn’t know why she thought this woman was not the one that kidnapped her here.
After coughing for a while, the woman finally stopped. She held Edie’s hands tightly and said, "I never expected that we would et again like this."
"What do you know about all these?" Edie frowned and asked her.
"It is from Julia. It is her that kidnapped you here. Do you rember her?"
Julia...
Hearing this, Edie trembled a little bit. Of course, she rembered her. Though they haven’t t each other many tis, they hated each other,
Julia has always loved Stuart deeply. This has already made Edie her enemy. Besides, it was Stuart, Edie’s husband, that cooperated with Norman to destroy her family. It would certainly make Julia hate Edie more.
Could she survive in this kidnap?
Would Julia take her as her hostage to threaten Stuart and hurt Laty?
This was what she worried about the most.
"Who are you? You gave that note, right? Why did you remind ?"
"I...I don’t know who I am. I lost lots of my mories several years ago when my head was hit. From then on, I stayed with Julia all the ti. You don’t need to know who I am—all you need to know is that I don’t want to hurt you. But...I have no ans to save you. I would take good care of you these days. Don’t panic. There would be a way out here. I need to prepare dinner for you now."
She said in a humble voice and tumbled to leave, leaving Edie staying alone in the empty house.
Edie opened the door. She wanted to know where she was so that she could find a way out.
This was a Duplex single mansion with black and white simple design. She looked around. She suddenly had a familiar feeling.
The design. It was like the design of their own house. Their house was also designed with black, white, and gray.
To be exact, it was like their own house before, when she t Stuart. At that ti, his flat was so serious.
After getting married to Edie, Stuart changed a lot to comply with Edie.
As Edie looked around, she heard a strange voice.
"Why do you know I am not Stuart?"
Hearing the question, Edie turned around. It was a tall man in an article of black bulletproof clothing. He held a long gun designed for soldiers. He looked like the guard here.
"The car. The unique sll insides the car. It slt like a new car."
"So, you’ve started suspecting when you got off the car?"
"Actually, I’ve started suspecting you at the very beginning. Stuart would call or send a text to when he ca to pick up. He would not co without telling in advance. I was confused. But I was not sure you are not my husband until you put all my staff inside the trunk."
"What? Why?" the man asked out of curiosity. He walked to Edie, with a weird smile at the corner of his mouth.
"Because my husband would place those staff so carefully, more carefully than . Those are the equipnt I used to make a living. He never put them in the trunk. He would put them on the rear seat. So I imdiately ensured that you are not my husband. But I didn’t dare to say it out."
"So, you decided to ask for help inside the studio?"
"Exactly. You’ve shown lots of gaps. When you masqueraded as Avan’s secretary to pick up Laty, you succeeded because Laty was not familiar with Avan’s secretary. But when you masqueraded as I am so familiar with, it is impossible for you to succeed. I would find it imdiately. Your clothes are wrong. Your steps are wrong. Even your tones are wrong. You don’t dare to hold my hands. You just grab my wrist. Because you are so afraid and nervous. You are not confident in masquerading as the man I am familiar with, right?"
Edie hit the mark directly, forcing the man to hide his smile.
He applauded her imdiately, "I’ve really underestimated you. You are so talented in analyzing. What if I disguise myself as soone you are not familiar with. Would you see through ?"
"Yes. I drove my car to the spot. I wouldn’t leave with other n."
"So, I lost the ga completely."
The man touched his nose and raised a smile again, "What about one bet with ? I would pose as another man in your life. Would you mind who I am going to pose? If you are right, I would owe you a request."
"Sorry, except Julia and that disfigured woman, I don’t know anyone else. Besides, I don’t even know who you are. It is impossible for to guess. Therefore, I refuse. I don’t want to take up the bed. I don’t need to request you to do anything. It is useless for now."
