"Stuart, how long have you been staying up?"
"Three days and nights."
"..."
Hearing these words, Edie fell into silence. She felt so warm at the bottom of the heart that she wanted to cry out.
Edie didn’t say any more words. She just grabbed the corner of his clothes to feel the warmth on his body.
Then she heard Stuart said in a lovely voice, "So, stop talking now. I couldn’t fall into sleep until you fell asleep. You don’t want to die from exhaustion, right?"
"No. I want you to be alive," Edie said in a serious tone and closed her eyes. She was struggling to fall into sleep. Stuart lowered his eyes to see her pale, quiet face. He saw her eyelids were still trembling. Her eyebrows were raised slightly. Though she has already closed her eyes, she looked so serious at the mont. Seeing this, Stuart couldn’t help himself burst into slight laughter.
Such a silly girl.
He stared at such a sweet girl so gently. At the mont, his eyes looked so determined and powerful.
He fixed his eyes on her as if he has already forgotten how tired he was these days. He wished he could look at this sweet girl forever. He would never get enough.
He moved his fingers on her face, feeling the warmth and softness on her face.
Edie...
How could I leave you?
Could you tell how I could manage to leave you?
Perhaps, there was only one thing that could separate us.
Death.
It was the most distant.
Edie had a good sleep after that. When she woke up, she imdiately looked for Stuart.
When feeling his warm chest, Edie imdiately took a relieve,
"What? Are you going to taunt your husband?" Stuart woke up. He looked quite joyful.
Edie stared at him, "When did you wake up? You slept so late last night. You should sleep now."
"I am fine. The kitchen is not far away here. I want to prepare so food for you. Wait here for ."
"Would you co back?" Edie got nervous.
"Yes. I promise."
Stuart kissed on her forehead slightly and then got off to prepare breakfast. Edie watched him disappearing at the door. Suddenly she had a bad feeling. But she didn’t know why.
She had such a bad feeling that Stuart might not co back again after stepping out of this door.
When the door was closed, Edie panicked.
She hesitated for a while. Then she decided to struggle to get up.
The wounds on her body haven’t been recovered totally. Those wounds were covered with a bandage. When she stood up, the wounds were opened imdiately. She felt so painful that her small face was switched.
She wondered how Ghost and Marina were. They might be safe now.
She struggled to walk to the kitchen. On her way, she didn’t see anyone. The flat was empty. No one else was here except Stuart and her.
Edie heard a sound from the kitchen. Stuart was busy preparing breakfast, inside the kitchen.
Edie opened the door and stepped into the kitchen.
The man was wearing an apron and frying bacon in the pan in front of the range. The sunlight poured on one side of his sharp face. He looked like the combination of the angle and demon, with a sense of special mystery.
At the mont, he looked quite concentrated. He was smiling. It looked quite happy for him to cook for his lovely wife.
The man looked the most handso while concentrating on sothing.
His side face looked so attractive that Edie held her breath. She didn’t want to make any sound of breaking the peace. So she didn’t walk to him.
It took Stuart quite a while to cook the porridge. Edie stood there for quite a long ti. When Stuart finally finished, she almost fell down.
She was so weak. If she couldn’t hold the door, she might already have faded out.
At the mont she was about to slip down, Stuart rushed to her to hold her in his arms.
"You are injured. Why are you here?"
"I am afraid you might disappear suddenly. I miss you so much."
Edie was still joking to him.
Stuart wanted to bla her. But when seeing Edie’s face, he held all his words back. He didn’t want to say anything hurtful to her.
Therefore, he held her body up and took her into the bedroom. Then he asked the doctor to change the dicine for Edie.
After changing the dicine, Edie saw Stuart bring the breakfast into the room. Porridge with beef and so vegetable slices added with so bacon.
As she wanted to eat, Stuart stopped her. He wanted to feed her.
"You are injured on your arms. Don’t move; let handle everything for you."
"Wow. You’ve made such great progress," hearing his words, Edie felt quite flattered.
"You were not injured in your arms before. So you can do it yourself," Stuart answered in a serious tone.
Hearing these words, Edie instantly rolled her eyes helplessly.
After eating breakfast, Stuart took a book out suddenly. It was Andersen’s Fairy Tales.
Then he asked Edie, "Have you read this book before? Quite naive. But interesting."
"Haven’t you read this book before?" this book was written for little kids at the age of 3 to 10. She read this book all the ti in her childhood.
"No. I haven’t read them before. Is it weird?" Stuart asked in reply seriously.
Weird?
If others said this, it would definitely be so weird. But when Stuart said this, it was quite normal.
Edie could even imagine Stuart reading that economic news at the age of 5 and started negotiating with other businessn. Quite scary.
"Where did you find this? "Edie asked Stuart confusingly.
"I have no idea. I just saw it in the corner, and then I took it. I’ve been reading these stories to you these days. Do you still rember?"
"I was in a coma. How could I rember? But...you read fairy tales to . Are you sure? I feel I am dreaming now. Are you lying to ?"
"Why am I lying to you. I can read those stories to you now."
Then Stuart opened the book and said, "This story’s title is Thumbelina. Long long ago, an old couple wanted to give the birth of a baby. Their own baby...."
Hearing Stuart’s reading that fairy tale, Edie was amused. Stuart’s tone was so flat. It sounded like negotiating instead of telling a fairy tale. He used the sa tone from the beginning to the end of the story.
Besides, after reading the whole story, he would explain the aning behind the story seriously and analyzed all characters’ personalities to reflect the social situation further.
Hearing this, Edie felt as if she went back to primary school when the teacher analyzed the paper for her word by word.
Edie didn’t know what she could say to Stuart. She was really amused but bored. She almost broke down. But Stuart didn’t know it. He continued reading the next story.
