Space was filled with intense light. Brittany frowned hard. She felt pain. She didn’t know how long her legs were tied.

She tried to adjust herself to the light. Then she looked around. It was a large empty factory. It was at midnight. It was dark out of the window.

Behind the intense light were sitting several n. Brittany could not see their face clearly. She asked them imdiately, "Who are you? Why do you kidnap ? What do you want? I can give you everything you want."

"You would die soon. We want to teach you a lesson today,"

"Couldn’t you tell the reason? I would feel so wrong if you don’t tell ." Brittany said in a calm voice. She sounded so relaxing, without any fear in her voice.

She could hear their anger from their voice. But they didn’t sound brutal. She thought they would not kill her.

A man stepped towards her and said in a cold voice, "Miss Yates, I believe you must be so happy these days. Prepare the engagent party; find your Mr. Right. Congratulations. We also want to give you so presents. What do you say about that?"

Then he took a Swiss Army Knife out and rolled the knife in his hands. He could control the knife quite well.

Then, he took the knife closely to Brittany’s face. If he applied so force, he would ruin her face imdiately.

When approaching Brittany, the man squinted, as if he really hated her.

"Even you really want to kill , at least let know the reason," Brittany said in a helpless voice,

At the most crucial mont, a man stopped him. Then, Brittany heard the shooting.

The bullet was shot on the man’s arms. The wound of the shooting looked so scary.

It was a rubber bullet. It would not kill him. But the wound would be so painful.

The man held his arms tightly and turned towards the man shooting him, "Mr. Charlie, why do you stop ? Don’t you want to destroy this woman?"

Brittany opened her eyes, seeing Charlie at a distance. She squinted deeply.

It was Norman’s housekeeper.

So these were all Norman’s n.

Charlie walked to the man and squinted deeply, "If Norman knew this, he might kill you,"

"He lost his military rank and his position. Why did he still want to protect this bitch? Why does he want to punish ?" the man curled his lips and said in a reconciled voice.

Hearing these words, Charlie stared at them, "Shut your fucking mouth up. Get the hell out here. Everyone participating in this would be punished later."

"Yes, sir."

They straightened up and saluted. Then they turned around and left.

Charlie walked to Brittany and untied the rope. He apologized to her sincerely, "My apology for frightening you. Are you okay?"

"No. What does he an by that? What happened to Norman?" Brittany held Charlie’s hands excitedly and asked. Her voice was trembling. But she didn’t realize that.

The housekeeper fixed his eyes on her and said in a cold voice, "Miss Yates has been engaged to another man. It is not suitable for you to care about Norman. He is none of your business now. Let him go."

Hearing these words, she felt her ears were torn apart. She was slightly shocked.

What did he an by letting him go?

What has she done? Has she hurt him?

"I could not understand you," she frowned slightly and said,

"You don’t need to understand. Norman might not be able to attend your engagent party. I, on behalf of him, give you the best blessing."

The housekeeper sounded so cold at the mont. It seed that the housekeeper also hated her.

"What happened? Why couldn’t you tell ? I want to see Norman now, okay?"

"Sorry. He doesn’t want to see you. I’ve prepared the car for you. You can leave now. Please."

Then the housekeeper turned around and left.

When Brittany ran out, she could not find the housekeeper anywhere.

She saw a car. The key was hanging on the window.

She checked the ti on her mobile phone. It’s been twelve o’clock at midnight. Adam has made several calls to her.

She didn’t call him back. She wanted to call Norman. But after searching in his contact book, she didn’t find Norman’s number.

So... though she’s been knowing him for such a long ti, she didn’t keep his number.

She left him totally. Wasn’t this what she wanted?

Under the moonlight, she raised a smile at the corner of the mouth. She was laughing at herself. She looked so fragile and cool. In the cold spring wind, she looked so vulnerable.

She stood out of the car for a long ti. Finally, she put the key down and left.

She has beco a stranger to him. They’ve beco strangers. She should not accept any gift from him.

In the bush at a distance, a black car was hidden in the darkness.

Norman saw everything that happened. Seeing her leaving, he felt heartbreaking. He imdiately wanted to get out of the car.

Seeing this, the housekeeper locked the window imdiately.

"Sir, she would be engaged with another man in three days. You should give up on her now."

Hearing these words, Norman suddenly felt so cold. The coldness kept torturing him from the bottom of the heart.

Norman smiled bitterly and fell into the seat in despair.

"I almost forgot. Thank you for reminding ."

Seeing the bitterness on his face, the housekeeper felt sorry for him, "Sir, if you couldn’t give up on her, get her back. Otherwise, you would lose her forever in three days."

"No, I would bless her, "Norman shook his head. His voice was low and damp, flowing in the breezing.

"The governnt has offered the conditions. They hope you can resu your duty. They’ve started preparing a Wolf plan. All your soldiers hoped you could have participated in this plan. Do you.... want to return to the troop?"

"No. I’ve made the decision."

"Sir, you don’t have Miss Yates now. If you still give up your military rank, your father would punish you."

"I don’t care. I have nothing to be scared of now," Norman closed his eyes slowly. The wind was so cold. He started coughing again.

He couldn’t stop it. His face turned paler. Sweat oozed out from his forehead.

"Go....go to the hospital."

Norman struggled to say these words out. The housekeeper’s face changed imdiately. He started the engine without any hesitation.

When they arrived in the hospital, Norman fell in a coma. When he was pushed into the CPU, his face was deadly pale.

The housekeeper’s heart was burning.

He hesitated for a while. Finally, he looked towards the door of the ward and dialed Brittany’s number.

"Miss Yates, have you been ho?"

"On my way ho. What’s up?"

"I want... I want to talk to you. About Norman."

He said in a heavy voice. Hearing these words, Brittany felt hard to take a breath.
