She lowered her head. Though she didn’t want to accept the fact, it was ti for her to force herself to learn to accept this.
"Why? What is my problem?"
She squatted down embarrassingly, holding her head tightly.
Looking at her thin body, Jason felt sorry, as a friend.
Actually, she didn’t fail. The most important reason was that he didn’t love her. Nothing was more important than love. No one could compare to the woman he loved.
Jason pressed the wound on his chest. Blood oozed out, dropping down on the white floor.
Red blood. So dazzling.
When Kris raised her head again, she saw Jason standing in front of her. Blood kept oozing out from his chest.
Lots of blood on the floor.
She widened her eyes in shock. She imdiately climbed up and rushed to her.
"Why....why don’t you call the doctor?"
"You look really lonely crying here. I am worried about you as a friend. I could not leave you alone at this mont."
He said these words out, out of the responsibility as a man.
He made a mistake. He should take responsibility.
Looking at his pale face, Kris’s face turned painful. She pressed her lips tightly. She felt so heartbroken that she could not say a word out.
She held Jason to the doctor. Tears kept falling down.
The wound on Jason’s chest was not severe. But he stood there for quite a while. He lost lots of blood there.
After taking dicine, he fell into sleep. But apparently, he could not sleep tight. He kept frowning. Sotis, he would speak nonsense and keep calling Scarlet’s na.
He loved her, more than his love for his own life.
Why did she fail?
When this man was a playboy, she played with him. She didn’t force him. Now, when he beca a serious man, it was too late for her to seize him.
She tried all ans, trying to remain him in France so that he would not have a chance to see Scarlet.
Maybe this was fate. Maybe it was because she didn’t try hard. Kris didn’t know. No matter what the reason was, the fact could not be changed anymore.
"I kept telling myself I am good enough for you. Missing is your misery. From now on, you would not have any more chance. I really should not co to see you because I am not myself when I see you. I couldn’t even control myself when I see you. I want to say goodbye to you when I co here. But after I see your face, I lose my idea. I could not think about anything else."
"I’ve heard that Scarlet travels for a long ti, trying to forget a man. I want to take a try. You would not love . I can give up. Don’t tell any other excuses. The fact that you don’t love is enough for to persuade to give up on you."
"Jason, I hate you. I love you. I miss you. I am tired of you... no matter what I feel, I can think of nobody but you. I love you. Sorry. It is ti for to leave you."
After saying those words out, she bent down, kissing on his pale soft lips.
The kiss lasted for quite a while.
Tears wet his face.
Kris closed her eyes and turned around. She didn’t dare to throw an eye on him.
When the door was closed, her heart was totally broken.
She was so desperate.
She stood at the door of Scarlet’s ward for quite a while. But she didn’t open the door.
She was not that kind-hearted. The man she loved deeply abandoned her for this woman. She would never be able to smile at this woman. Not to ntion to care about her.
Ti for her to leave this place. Nothing deserves her to stay here anymore.
Kris clenched her teeth and stepped away. But her face turned paler and paler.
When Jason opened his eyes, it was midnight. The man staying with him was Stuart.
Stuart leaned against the sofa back, reading. But he could not concentrate on the mobile phone at the mont. He kept turning towards the mobile phone.
It had been one minute and thirty-two seconds. Why hadn’t that woman replied to him?
It had been two minutes now!
Jason tried to get up. His chest was so painful. But he managed to get up.
"Why are you here?"
At the mont, Edie sent him a voice ssage.
"Be quiet. Edie sent a voice ssage."
Stuart said in a serious voice. Then he clicked on the ssage. It was Lady’s voice.
"Mom is folding clothes now. Then she would take a shower. So she has no ti to talk to you right now. Take good care of Uncle Jason. Daddy."
Hearing these words, Jason’s face changed imdiately.
"Ask your mother to talk to after she takes a shower. I would wait for her."
"Okay. Mommy said she would talk to you after thirty minutes."
Stuart took the phone down and turned towards Jason, "The doctor told you are fine. You just need to take a good rest. They are also taking good care of Scarlet. She would be fine. You don’t have to worry about anything now."
"I want to see her."
Jason got up. Stuart didn’t stop him. When he wanted to help him, Jason refused, "I can do it. Don’t believe those words. Thirty minutes for a woman might be one hour or more."
"Edie....is different. She would not lie to ."
"No. She’s the sa." Jason smiled slightly.
Stuart checked the ti. It had been two minutes.
He continued reading the news. Soon, half of an hour passed. He imdiately checked the mobile phone.
"Where’s your mom?"
"She is taking a shower."
"When would she finish?"
No answer.
Stuart waited for a minute. No reply. He waited for five minutes. Still, no reply. Ten minutes.....
Stuart got angry totally.
He dialed the number. No one answered.
After forty-five minutes, Edie finally called.
"Sorry, darling. I am taking a shower just now. I haven’t dried my hair."
"But you said you just need thirty minutes just now," Stuart didn’t sound happy. Apparently, he wanted Edie to comfort him.
Edie couldn’t help herself rolling her eyes, "The doctor told not to be angry."
Hearing her words, Stuart imdiately realized he was wrong. He was not qualified to ask Edie to comfort him. He should know that. He should be clear about that.
Fine.
"I would pick you up tomorrow morning. Take good care of yourself. Ask Lady to sleep early. You are pregnant now. You need more sleeping."
The man sounded quite gentle and considerate.
Laty curled the lips and kicked Avan’s arms, "See, they were calling again."
Edie stared at them, asking them out.
"She would say prattle with dad again."
"..."
Quite clever kids.
After two little kids left, Edie dried her hair. After her hair was dried, she gradually fell into sleep.
