Walking out of the Villa, Edie felt miserably helpless and had no idea what to do or who to talk to about her feelings. She drove around the city, and then she decided to find Scarlet Yvette. She had to talk to soone.
Edie bought so sandwiches and coffee because this was one of the things that Scarlet loved the most. She parked the car and walked upstairs.
"Who is it? It is really early in the morning. Do you have any idea what ti I went to bed last night?"
Edie had already heard her complaining before she opened the door. The minute she heard Scarlet’s voice, she started to feel better. Just as she was about to open the door, Edie raised the breakfast in front of her face and said, "Delivery."
Scarlet was pissed off at first, but as soon as she saw Edie and the tasty breakfast in her hands, she felt better.
"You still rember our apartnt? You know you still have a key, or did you forget?"
"I forgot to bring the key. I just wanted to bring you breakfast. Please, don’t be mad at . I told you that I would co back."
"Won."
While enjoying her delicious food, she asked Edie, "How do you feel living with Stuart Yates?"
She really shouldn’t have ntioned it. She poked her pinpoint accurately. All of a sudden, Edie has pissed off again, "Well, fine."
Scarlet was quite good at reading others’ facial expressions. She definitely saw through Edie’s mind. So she asked imdiately, "What kind of fine? Your eyes are telling that you are lying. Tell the truth, co on. Why did you co here today so suddenly?"
"To.....visit you."
"So you ca here this early in the morning. Don’t you think you look just like a married woman escaping from her husband and going back to her mommy?"
Edie was shocked, and she couldn’t believe what Scarlet just said, "Scarily, are you writing for the society column? Since when have you been so familiar with these kinds of things?"
"Well, I just edited several essays for them. Don’t change the topic. I could always tell when you are upset. Tell , what happened?"
Edie hesitated and then started talking, "You know, I got a role in The White-Love-Song?"
"Yeah. We had dinner together the night you got the part."
"I thought I got it because of my acting skills, but I was inford that it was because of Stuart’s investnt of one hundred million dollars or more into the play."
Scarlet almost choked while drinking her coffee. Edie patted her back.
"What the hell? That’s how the rich do it? Coaxing won with such a large amount of money. I could never earn such a large amount of money in my whole life."
"What coaxing won?" As if he had a crush on her.
"What? You are not a woman?"
"I am...."
"But, you don’t think he did this to coax you?" Edie shook the head, "But I don’t feel happy about it." "
Scarlet was staring at her strangely and asked, "He spent such a large amount of money on you just to make you smile. What is there not to feel happy about?"
"Don’t take this the wrong way, but rember he’s gay. We have a fake marriage, not a real one."
Scarlet got quiet, and she had forgotten about the article that she had shown Edie. "So, you are upset about this?
Hearing this, Edie got lost. "Actually, I don’t know why I am upset. I only know that I was pissed off for him doing this to . I always believed, from the bottom of my heart that we were equal to each other. His behavior made lose all my confidence in him. He always has to be superior. I would never be able to catch up with him."
Scarlet said abruptly, "Edie, tell , did you fall in love with him?" Edie’s heart was crushed, but she still pretended to be calm, "Are you out of your mind. You know he is a gay, right? How could I possibly fall in love with a gay man?"
"I know. I just worry that you have gotten in over your head. He is handso, rich and treats you well. It wouldn’t be unusual for you to have a crush on him. If you don’t have any feelings for him, why do you care about what has happened between the two of you? He is just like your boss. As long as he gives you a salary, everything is okay. You don’t care about whether you are equal or not. If you care about that, then that ans you have feelings for him."
Edie was completely frozen. Everything that Scarlet said brought out those strange emotions she had, she started suspecting maybe she did have feelings for Stuart. That was so ridiculous. Was she blind? At first, she fell in love with that asshole Donald Lynch. Now, she fell in love with a gay man!
As Edie imrsed herself in her mories, Scarlet’s phone rang. She looked at the screen and told Edie, "Wait for a mont, it’s my boss." Edie nodded.
Scarlet didn’t walk away. "Hello, it’s the weekend....what news? What? What the hell? Really? All right. I will check it out right now....."
The call changed the expression on Scarlet’s face completely.
"What’s up?"
"Soone changed the ssage about you and Zoe Anna. My editor didn’t tell any more details. She asked to check it out online. Co on, let’s see what happened there."
"Alright."
Edie took her phone out, checking Twitter. To her surprise, she didn’t have to search for Zoe’s na. The three hottest topics were all about her.
