The next day, Danny called Edie to co to the company in the morning. Facing the reversal of public opinions, everyone was shocked. No one knew who did this.
Danny was confused and had to ask Edie. She didn’t want to hide anything from him, but she had to lie this ti.
"Danny, you know what I am capable of. It would be impossible for to do this."
Danny knew that. If Edie really had soone behind her, she would have been well-known in the circle.
"You really have no idea?"
Edie shook her head imdiately, "No, I have no idea. I thought you did it."
Danny did have soone handling the situation, but the best he could do was minimize the impact of her stealing soone else’s role. He couldn’t reverse the public opinion, dragging Zoe Anna into the mire.
Besides, before Danny had a chance to do anything, all the posts related had been deleted. This was really strange. Edie asked tentatively, "Danny, has Zoe Anna offended anyone? They may want to destroy her. I think they just helped us out."
Edie didn’t want him to know the truth. So, she tried to mislead him. Hearing this, Danny held his mouth, "It sounds possible." Seen from the executive force and efficiency, Danny could tell it must have been a great team. Even the PR group of Star Entertainnt couldn’t achieve this in such a short ti.
Maybe Zoe Anna did offend soone who was influential. He didn’t know how to get his revenge, so he took advantage of this situation, which annihilated Zoe Anna.
Danny didn’t know who did it or why. All he could do is believe what Edie had told him. He had to attribute all this to Edie’s luck.
"You are lucky this ti, but perhaps you won’t be so lucky next ti. Be careful, okay?"
"I promise," Edie said imdiately.
After discussing work with Edie for three hours, he finally let her leave. Edie had a headache, and all she wanted was to get sothing to eat. Unexpectedly, as she walked out of the Star Entertainnt, she saw a BMW parked in front of her. Edie didn’t pay much attention to it. As she started to walk around the car, the car door opened.
Karen got out, and she looked really anxious. It had been a while since Edie saw Karen last, and she was a bit shocked. She had been Donald’s assistant for many years.
"Miss Lara, I have encountered a complicated situation. Would you mind doing a favor?"
Edie wasn’t sure how to answer, "He is the heir of Hawk Real Estate Co., Ltd., while I am just a small star. Karen, you might have the wrong person."
Before Karen had a chance to explain, she reminded her of the last ti they spoke. Edie recalled her words, a year ago, when she ca to her after Donald lost his mory.
"He was the heir of Hawk Real Estate Co., Ltd while you were just an unpopular small actress. If he really married you, that would have quite a negative impact on him. Don’t be this self-centered."
She still rembered how cruel and cold she was to her. As Edie used Karen’s words to reply to her, she felt it hard to open her mouth. She was speechless. Seeing Karen’s facial expression, she knew that she rembered.
"Leave alone. He is not my concern anymore. Don’t ask for help."
Then, she passed Karen and started to leave. Karen got nervous and held Edie’s arms,
"Miss Lara, Donald fainted at the airport. He is suffering from a fever. He is in danger."
Edie didn’t care. She and Donald were over a long ti ago. Edie felt like sneering. She had so much bitterness inside of her. She thought she might laugh out loud.
"Karen, you are out of your mind? If he is sick, then find a doctor. If he needs care, then go to his fiancée. Why would you block here? Why should I visit him? He wants nothing to do with ."
A year ago, when she cried to ask to visit Donald, what did Karen say to her? When he didn’t need her, they wanted to get rid of her as quickly as they could. Now when they need her help, they want to get her imdiately. Maybe in the mind of the rich, she was low.
Edie tried to remove Karen’s hands. Karen didn’t expect that she was this heartless. Was it really true that she had forgotten about Donald? That’s impossible. They had been together for five years. It wouldn’t be so easy to ignore all the mories that they had together.
As Edie was determined to leave, Karen made the decision to tell her the truth. She shouted, "Donald might die soon." Edie stopped in her steps, but she didn’t turn around. Karen was relieved; she had finally gotten her attention.
She kept saying, "I am not lying to you. After being sent to the hospital, he got a severe fever at midnight. He seed to have a nightmare. He kept mumbling. Whoever approached him, he got crazy. He didn’t cooperate with the doctors or us. I didn’t dare inform his family. I haven’t told anyone."
Was Karen telling the truth, Edie held her fist tightly. She was trembling slightly. Was he really that sick? Edie took a breath slowly as if she wanted to get rid of the air of depression in her body.
Then she said peacefully, "This is none of my business. I am married. I don’t have to visit my ex." Karen didn’t expect that Edie would be married. She had completely changed.
"Edie Lara, you don’t know what he has been suffering from. Do you really want to destroy him?"
Karen shouted out, with the blue veins popping out on her forehead. Edie paused slightly. What was he suffering from? What did she an by saying that? Karen seized the opportunity. She opened the car door and pushed Edie into the car.
