Chapter 465: Kaelron Vire [I]

Alexia Von Zynx was unstoppable.

Facing her felt like facing a storm as an ant.

A natural calamity that cared nothing for rank or reputation, she mercilessly tore through the lines of the Ivory faction.

This domination started the moment she entered the battlefield.

Dropping straight out of the sky like a meteor, Alexia swatted aside any artillery spell aimed at her and struck the center of the Rook Sector with a sundering force that shattered the earth.

The resulting shockwave flung back a dozen Ivory defenders into the air.

By the time the dust settled, a petite girl with bright orange hair was standing at the epicenter of a large crater. A terrifying warhammer rested casually over her shoulders.

Her platoon plummeted after her like a rain of shooting stars.

Wind-users cushioned their descent with powerful updrafts. The rest just hit the ground running, already drawing Cards to conjure spells before their boots ever touched the fractured earth.

To their credit, the Ivory defenders recovered almost immediately. They managed to take out most of the aerial attackers, catching several of them in midair with a precise barrage of spells.

Summoners astride winged beasts were knocked out of the sky, their mounts dragged down using glowing chains or ripped apart by concentrated energy beams.

Avian specialists tried to either bank away or dodge the unending barrage of counterfire, but their desperate evasive maneuvers were eventually cut short.

One by one, Samael’s aerial assault force was torn from the sky.

Some Cadets vanished in flashes of shadow as Instructors intervened. A few managed to break through the defensive fire, but they arrived wounded, exhausted, and barely capable of fighting.

This was the problem with this strategy.

After today, the Ebony faction’s chokehold over the skies of the Great Divide would be gone.

There was no way to maintain such an aggressive aerial blockade after mitting nearly their entire flying division into enemy territory.

But it didn’t matter. Not to Alexia, at least.

The aerial unit had to be sacrificed to carve open a path for Alexia and her platoon. And they had succeeded.

Now, this sector would fall.

It was inevitable. Just like the Fist of Heaven herself.

Blades of wind, spears of ice, explosive flames, and heavy projectiles — enough firepower to flatten a small fortress was unleashed upon the blind girl.

She answered with a swing of her warhammer. As its massive head met the ining barrage, a thunderous BOOM erupted.

The divine weapon’s single enchantment allowed Alexia to convert whatever force she applied into pure energy and then release it as a concussive shockwave, basically creating a kinetic blast.

So the moment her hammer connected with the storm of spells, every ounce of power behind her swing was transformed into a savage eruption of pressed force without any wastage.

The battlefield itself seemed to buckle.

The flames were snuffed out into scattered embers, the ice spears shattered into glittering fragments, and the wind blades dispersed into harmless gusts.

The remaining projectiles were simply thrown off course, veering away from Alexia as the force of the counterattack rippled outward.

Several Ivory Cadets closest to her who had been preparing their next attack were caught pletely off guard.

They barely had time to raise their barriers before the violent shockwave crashed into them.

The first line of defenders was launched backward like paper dolls, their bodies skidding across the forest floor to slam into roots and trunks.

Some barriers shattered instantly.

Others held for a fraction of a second longer before spiderweb cracks spread across their surfaces and the Cadets behind them were thrown into the mud.

Alexia didn’t wait for them to recover. She charged like a mad beast and jumped into their ranks. Her platoon followed.

What happened next was… humiliation in its purest form.

“e on, you weak little pests!” Alexia screamed, laughing. She was a woman possessed. A devil behind that angelic face. “e on! Fight me! Get the glory of saying you defeated the Fist of Heaven!”

A dozen men rushed her. Three brawlers leading the charge. An obvious strategy, but also their only choice.

If there was one thing every batant knew, it was that you should never try to match a monster like Alexia with technique. You should overwhelm them with raw force.

So they sent the biggest, strongest people they had around first.

One was wrapped in layers of brutish, bone-like armour. Another had transformed both arms into massive blades of hardened crystal. The third looked almost normal until the ground beneath his feet cracked from his unnaturally increased weight.

Together, they attacked from three different directions.

Alexia went in and met the armored Cadet first, ducking low under the heavy swing of his fist. As the punch missed her by a hair, she moved inside his guard and smashed her warhammer into his shin.

The impact was disgusting. The armored Cadet’s reinforced leg bent at an unnatural angle beneath the force of the blow.

The bone-like plating around his shin fractured like dried clay, and the enormous figure collapsed sideways with a roar of pain.

Thinking she was distracted, the crystal-bladed Brawler took this opportunity to dart in from her blind spot.

His sharpened arm swung down like a guillotine, aiming to split her from shoulder to hip. Alexia tilted her head and let the blade pass through empty air.

She then twisted her torso and brought the back of her terrifying warhammer around with one hand, striking her attacker’s shoulder. The blow sent him spinning sideways.

It wasn’t a coup de grâce, but it did give Alexia enough time to bend her knees and assume a grounded stance.

Then she pivoted. The third Cadet — the one whose innate ability seemed to have dramatically increased his weight — was already upon her.

He was so heavy that his boots were tearing up deep trenches in the mud with every single stride.

There was no elegance. There wasn’t even much speed. He was just moving like a rolling boulder, intending to crush the little girl beneath all his mass.

But as Alexia’s warhammer came blurring toward his chest, the boy was forced to cross his arms and draw a Card, trusting his immense density and hastily conjured barrier to absorb the blow.

His trust was misplaced.

The shimmering barrier popped under the pressure like a soap bubble. And in the very next moment, the boy was taking a flight across the clearing.

His heavy body rammed through the rest of his charging squadmates behind him and knocked most of them down in a tangled heap of broken limbs.

By then, however, the crystal-bladed Cadet had regained his balance and bit back the pain of his dislocated shoulder.

He snuck up behind the blind she-devil again, this time lashing out to cleave her in half. And yet, he still failed to take her by surprise.

Alexia leapt and practically backflipped over his swinging arm, landing cleanly behind him.

Panicked and suddenly very frightened, the young man quickly turned around and swept with his crystalized blade in a wide arc, hoping to catch her mid-recovery.

His heart sank when he didn’t hit flesh, and he knew it was over then.

Alexia had already ducked below the trajectory of the slash, dropping into a squat.

There was a ferocious grin stretched across her otherwise doll-like face as she sprang upward and twisted, driving the bulky head of her hammer into the underside of his exposed chin.

If anyone was watching this exchange closely, they would’ve noticed the exact moment the poor boy’s soul left his body.

His head pletely snapped back, a few teeth came loose, and he went airborne, spinning twice in the air. Before he could e crashing down, an Instructor took him away.

But the conductor of this grand symphony of violence was far from finished.
