Chenxing finished chatting on WeChat, turned off her phone, covered herself with the blanket, stared at the ceiling, and giggled foolishly, forcing herself to close her eyes.

She said she was going to sleep, so he dialed the bedroom, where there was a landline phone.
The call was not picked up for a long ti, Gu Shaocheng held his breath, gripping his phone tighter, betraying his excited state through such subtle movents.
Chenxing stretched out her arm to answer the phone, her voice standard and polite: "Hello, are you looking for Shaocheng? He’s not here, can you call his mobile instead?"
"...What did you just say?"
Chenxing was stunned, unsure if the voice on the phone was Gu Shaocheng’s, as it sounded a bit shaky: "Shaocheng?"
"What did you just say, say it again."
Chenxing felt bewildered: "What?"
"Baby? Whose, baby?" Gu Shaocheng enunciated each word, his heart nearly leaping out of his throat, his voice greatly perturbed, barely concealing his current emotions.
Chenxing tugged at the blanket: "Our baby, didn’t you know?"
"...You’re, pregnant?"
Gu Shaocheng closed his eyes, then opened them again, his emotions still uncontrollable, just growing more intense with excitent. He truly wished he could pull the woman through the phone to hear her say it again in person.
Chenxing: "Yes, didn’t you say you already knew?"
With a thud, Chenxing had no idea what had happened, she listened quietly, then called out twice more: "Shaocheng? Shaocheng? Shaocheng, are you still there? Talk to ?"
After a full thirty seconds, the man’s voice resud, and it soared like a tenor in an opera, suddenly bursting out: "You’re pregnant?!!!"
What is this man freaking out about?
Chenxing brought the phone to her ear, rubbing her almost-deaf ear from the shock, then pulled the phone back again, her eyes rolling: "Didn’t you know? Why the fuss?"
