Drinking really causes trouble!
"Chenxing, can you promise one thing? Can you not tell my brother about what just happened?"
Chenxing laughed playfully, "What happened just now? Nothing happened, right?"

"Phew, so you rember everything? What on earth happened to you? You scared to death just now." Chenxing, now less guarded after hearing his explanation, gave him a hard slap on the arm. "Did you know? You nearly gave a heart attack!"
His eyes were sincere. "I’m sorry."
Seeing his genuine apology, there was no way Chenxing could hold a grudge. She shook her head and smiled lightly, "It’s fine, but what kind of hallucination made you act so terrifyingly?"
"Just so buried mories. I was kidnapped once—there were a lot of bad people. It left a shadow in my life, and when I get drunk, I sotis recall those things and start having hallucinations. I almost hurt you. I’m really sorry, Chenxing, but can you please not tell my brother? I’m begging you, please... please..." If his brother knew, he would quickly connect the dots to that incident. Then he’d feel terrible and overwheld with guilt. His brother already has enough to deal with; he doesn’t want to add to his burdens.
His tone was almost imploring.
Chenxing couldn’t bring herself to et his eyes.
She nodded firmly and smiled, "Don’t worry. I won’t tell Shaocheng. I’ll also talk to Fei and make sure he doesn’t spill anything. You just get a good night’s sleep, okay?"
"You won’t go back on your word, right?" Hua Hua’s eyes were filled with anxiety.
Chenxing raised her hand, "Should I swear on it?"
"You don’t have to swear, just promise you won’t say it." Relieved, Hua Hua pulled up the blanket. "Chenxing, you should go back to the Gu Family house. I’m tired and want to sleep."
"You don’t need to stay with you?"
"No need."
"Alright then, call if you need anything. Oh, I made so porridge for you. It’s in the kitchen—make sure to have so when you wake up." Chenxing gave him a string of reminders before leaving Hua Hua’s bedroom.
She headed downstairs, tidied up the living room a bit, and locked the door for him on her way out.
Maybe... it would be worth talking to Shaocheng about it.

In the empty bedroom, Hua Hua opened his eyes. A needle-like pain in his chest spread, larger and larger, as he forced himself to get up and take a cold shower. Then, at the sink, he shoved his hand deep into his throat, forcing himself to vomit. After a long bout of retching, he clung to the sink with both hands, turned on the faucet at full blast to rinse away the sour stench of vomit, and continued splashing water on his face.
He wanted to completely wake himself up!
In the stillness of the villa, a sudden, earth-shattering scream erupted.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!"
He clenched his fists tightly and shouted toward the heavens, "Why am I so pathetic? A grown man, haunted by a nightmare for so many years, still unable to escape from it!
