Chenxing’s body trembled slightly. Under the intoxicating lights, her face, amidst the rosy glow, also reflected a faint layer of intoxication.

She wiped them away forcefully. "What nonsense are you saying?"
He laughed and took her hand again. The two of them strolled under the moonlight, exchanging lighthearted banter.

Gu Shaocheng let out a bitter laugh, crouching down. "I’ll carry you now."
Chenxing shook her head. "No, I’ll wait for you to carry in the future. For now, I can walk on my own."
"Co on, let carry you," Gu Shaocheng insisted.
Chenxing was even more persistent. "No way. You’ve already twisted your ankle. I’ll wait until your foot is healed before you carry ."
Saying this, she quickened her pace, breaking into a small run ahead of him. Turning around as she ran, she laughed at him with a twinkling smile.
The two walked to a bridge over a man-made lake and sat on the veranda. Chenxing rested her head on Gu Shaocheng’s shoulder, absentmindedly staring at the sky and humming a naless tune.
Basking in the rare and cherished mont of beauty.
In the tranquil night, the calls of insects served as the background lody.
A bright moon reflected on the water, its surface rippling with sparkling waves that spread out endlessly as the breeze passed.
