Gu Shaocheng raised an eyebrow and ignored her, putting away his gentle deanor. He pushed his wheelchair to the window and looked outside. It was quiet, with a few sporadic figures moving around. Gu Qianqian walked up behind him, "So what do we do now? That bitch Wang Yuanyuan, I want to tear her apart! How dare she treat like this!"
Who wouldn’t talk tough?
Gu Shaocheng sneered inwardly and asked her indifferently, "How did you end up in her hands?"
"I..." Gu Qianqian trailed off. She didn’t want to face that possibility.
Gu Shaocheng waited a long ti without receiving a response, and asked again, "You don’t know, or are you just being silly?"
Gu Qianqian pressed her temples with both hands; the aftermath of smoking dope had left her head aching. As she rubbed her temples, she said, "I don’t know if it was him."
"Who?"
"The boyfriend I told you about before. I was going to bring him to et you so you could check him out. But for the past six months, I couldn’t see you. No matter how many tis I went to the nursing ho, they wouldn’t let in. Three days ago, he said he had so business in Philadelphia and asked if I wanted to go. I had nothing to do, so I bought a ticket. I only rember retrieving my luggage at the airport and then nothing. When I woke up, it was half an hour before I called you. That bitch Wang Yuanyuan said if I didn’t call you, she’d inject heroin into . There were also ten thugs in the room..."
"I see," Gu Shaocheng sighed softly.
Gu Qianqian felt conflicted, "Maybe it has nothing to do with him. I have no grudge against Wang Yuanyuan. I got dragged into this because of you!"
"No wonder people say when a woman falls in love, her IQ drops to zero," Gu Shaocheng laughed mockingly. "Your boyfriend, with a background as clean as a sheet of white paper, how could he possibly team up with outsiders to set you up, right?"
Gu Qianqian’s face turned ugly. But thinking that she had implicated him, she restrained her temper, walked to his left side, and stared at his leg, "Do you have that disease? I suspected it a long ti ago. I couldn’t see you, and now... is there really no cure?"
"What do you want to see for?"
Gu Qianqian noticed his indifferent expression, awkwardly swallowed back all her worries, and said with a hint of annoyance, "I’m afraid if you die, I’ll have no status in the Gu Family. Is that not allowed?"
"Hmm, that does concern your interests." If he were gone, who would bother to give her face? The Gu Family’s young lady would rely be a decoration. Gu Shaocheng nodded calmly, "Don’t worry, I won’t die for now."
"So have you found a cure? You’ve gathered so many brilliant specialized doctors; have they co up with any solutions?"
As Gu Qianqian spoke, her eyes filled with a fanatic anticipation of breakthroughs in the dical field. To Gu Shaocheng, he gave a small, disdainful snort. "What’s the main point you want to know?"
Changing his tone, he asked, "Do you want to know if I can be cured, or are you more concerned about whether incurable diseases can be overco?"
His question made Gu Qianqian’s face turn completely red, and she awkwardly turned her head, looking outside to change the topic, "No idea where this place is?"
Gu Shaocheng had nothing to offer on that front either. He had only woken up ten minutes before her and was still trying to adjust to the aftereffects of inhaling drug smoke. It wasn’t too severe, just made breathing difficult and left him feeling a bit dizzy.
